  1. Agree about the single-sided looking more subtle so colour not so big an issue. J, assume your boys are happy to do single (inner) coat? Actually would be great though to see both sample colours and any reference pics of gens if anyone has them or can take pics
  2. J, maybe your guys could provide a sample set showing the range/or a selection of colours available? As subzero said above, incostintency across different Panerai models is the problem, some almost colourless AR, some bold blue/purple, some yellowish etc. Personally, I like a nice subtle bright blue tint, suits almost all types, from domed Fiddy-like crystals to 44mm Luminors. Very much like your first run. p.s. package on it's way
  3. Firstly, Cousins sell both the 6497-1 and the 6497-2. The latter according to their newly designed site comes in at
  4. Nothing, it has a nice and accurate 'coin edge', dunno why it looks smooth in pics.
  5. I know what you mean, I picked this up with the intention of cannibalising it for another project. But like naming a chicken as if it were a pet, rather than the 'guest of honour' at Sunday lunch, she sat there in my watchbox, looking sad and forlorn. Like a sucker, I allowed myself to slowly get emotionally involved, and when the time came, I just couldn't bear to bring down the axe. A bit of work and a T19 on the way, and I will take her out for show now and again.
  6. Sure, let's do a part-ex for that battered piece of diver's junk you've recently taken possession of (methinks poor ickle Nanuq is missing his long dear departed 'Gaussy >>>> )
  7. Aside from the glaring flaws (subdial placement, datefont etc.), the glaring oversight on this attempt at a PAM233 is that the gen is a 44mm Fiddy case not a 47mm. Also lacking the 'Nibbler's Fang' PR indicator, faux or not. Even with that aesthetically-decent bridge works on the movt, I really don't think we'll see the Manifatture models evolve on the high end rep market any time soon if ever.
  8. A touch of "ebay-itis" maybe? I think it's a bit early to be calling this model "vintage", even "retro" is pushing it!
  9. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to wear it, never mind pay six grand for it....
  10. Very nice write-up, a tasty quick 'lunch' next to BT's 'four-course dinner' Great to see they've finally made a half-decent 24hr hand - if only I could get hold of one spare
  11. Heard her co-star Roger Moore talking about her on the radio in the car driving back tonight. Quite poignant actually. Sad news indeed.
  12. Well in that case, I'll doff my cap to the "rats with wings" and put aside my hatred for such a noble cause. Incidentally Ry, I came across this article on the subject, small world indeed http://www.iht.com/articles/2004/01/30/blume_ed3__1.php
  13. What serial year is your YM? If newish, would be interested to see how widespread the infamous dial YM font swap is. Care to post some pics?
  14. Actually, what Chief said was that there was no avoiding the lip marks WITHOUT making custom collars for each crystal, which would be exhorbitantly expensive. Jakub's supplier was obviously more cost-effective.
  15. Hmmm, I spy with my little eye...
  16. Diligent and generous as ever Jakub I'm in for second run, sent email
  17. Someone's expectations seriously need managing... Why not chuck in "world peace" whilst you're wishing for things?
  18. Ok, whilst we're waiting for Matchday 2 in a few days, a quick brain-teaser.... For those eagle-eyed amongst you, in the pic above, can you tell me what's so ironic about something one of the two Liverpool players is wearing? Clue: something to do with the opposition that night
  19. That would have been me Interesting development, from what I hear there is no rep with 'proper' PVD from factory
  20. OK, just yellow Ferraris then @italiano - wow, a great deal, retail here for the Black Steel I believe is around
  21. that TZ guy has the skinniest wrist, compensating for something methinks Same way I'm reliably informed guys with the Ferraris have the tiniest di.....
  22. You know I may well go down and have a little chat with my AD tomorrow also No promises mind. Look forward to seeing your pics my Italian friend Current timescales for forthcoming reps seems to be a painful process these days, I remember when they were firing them out every few weeks or so. The whole Aquatimer (CD07 and white standard chrono) mess and SD delay just seem par for the course these days, so much that my 'wants' get perpetually bumped.
