Nice work, not far off what the 116610 will be like Sadly the red text and retro pearl is never gonna happen - Rolex seem quite happy to urinate on their own heritage these days p.s. can you try it with a date and also an SD version - interesting depth upgrading maybe take the SD to 5000ft since we're playing fantasy Rolex

Yeah, just don't do it whilst you're banging the boss's wife Seriously though, the thought it might be a little inappropriate never crossed your mind??? (the downloading, using work time thing, not the boss's wife I mean ) p.s. funny how you call it 'Dr House', and in the US I believe it's 'House MD', whereas for us Brits it's just 'House'

It's a figurehead, a flagship, a statement of intent, the jewel in their in-house movt. crown. It's not meant as a seller, just to show the horology world they're a serious player. You ain't nobody unless you have a Tourby in your line-up. Even if you put the bloody thing on the back - genius I posted a while back on the entire Manifattura series, the design of which seems to have been outsourced to a bunch of near-sighted numpties (probably ex-town planners), who when looking at the brief, skipped the part about "inkeeping with the traditions of Officine Panerai" and just crammed lots of crap in there. The 233 is about the only passable model in it's cute mini-Fiddy case, but even that has the execrable linear ('Nibbler's Fang' as coined by Pug) PR indicator.

Lello had the genuine datewheel to work from, provided by tonton, which would have been hi-res scanned and colour-matched (Leo's profession is graphic design) so there will be no issues here, guaranteed.

Not just electronics or consumer goods either, scary stuff In terms of watches though, I personally don't think it's anywhere near as strategically organised as you seem to be suggesting. Sure there's some market forces and minor gamesmanship at work, but essentially costs are going up and with them prices. Ain't going to change anytime soon IMO. We are but mere amoeba in the big pool of life.

So I got offered an Internship, actually two...

I think it's admirable that you're more interested in following your dream...personal development rather than career/financial development. So rare these days, most graduates are just interested in the money . Most in your position would settle for the easy option and hang off mummy and daddy's coat-tails (as some do for ever) in Dubai, rather than strike out on their own. So for that alone, I can't really advise on your choice as I've never been to China (ok well HK aside and it was a British colony at the time), but all I'll say is go for the place that is more attractive, culturually, spiritually, aesthetically....by all accounts (i.e Ken!) that is Shenzen. With the more comfortable package there included, I think it's an easy decision to make. Whatever, just enjoy it, you'll learn far more about life than a poxy MBA will ever teach you. -
I felt like that too, so I understand, really I do...the little voice in your head that says 'me want shiney new Apple/Mac gadget, one that runs OS X (yay!) and browses in Safari (whoopeee!) and hey, since my iPod is due an upgrade anyway....perfectamento!' But having calmed down, I had a Zen moment where I realised that I'm just not prepared to shell out over

Or the year after that, if I can be bothered I am an Apple man, always have been always will be, but the iPhone is the first product Job's has brought out that I consider technologically inferior and restrictive in its use. Launches in a few weeks here in UK, but no 3G (WTF?) and no way around an 18-month contract with one of crappier networks who puckered up and agreed to Apple's demanding terms (Vodafone having told Jobs where to stick his EDGE iPhone). Think I'll pass, stick with my lovely Nokias and buy an iPod Touch

So does my Nokia 8800, it's bloody impossible to scratch Yeah but it's a frikkin' brick!!! Vertu IS Nokia? Pffff, next you'll be telling me Lexus IS Toyota, yeah right The N series are like nuclear reactors compared with my 8800's weedy powerplant - however a firmware upgrade and swapping out batteries to the same form/better capacity 6X type gets me about 2 days decent/heavy use....making it 4 days with the spare I carry....more than good enough. Must admit though it has let me down on occasion re. battery, so as of next week, I have this sleek little understudy on standby for business trips when the 8800 needs some time off to relax

Yeah but that's because you have seller's remorse from your now-departed domed Speedy rep Personally I wouldn't touch a gen Reduced at any price, just doesn't speak to me. My own domed acrylic Speedy rep is a nice place filler whilst I'm lurking around to snap up a Pre-Moon.

What? You mean THIS George Lazenby???
-
Firstly it's a PO Chrono not a PO Anyway, I'm fairly sure this is the only PO Chrono rep currently available so there ain't much choice if you want one. Wrong subdial spacing aside (which also means the indices are inaccurate), the dial isn't fantastic quality in terms of printing, also the modified 7750 means sunken datewheel of course, the chrono pushers are too large/protruding, the pearl is off, as is the colour of the chrono second hand (too red). Consequently, wasn't/isn't a big seller.

Thanks Just does everything I want in a phone - make calls, nothing more. Battery life is only issue but I carry spare couple just in case. I also have a chunky plasticky N73 (free 'upgrade') which I hated even more due to the crappy slow Symbian software so I demoted it to run my TomTom. Hmmm, how about a KRZR? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=46494

Hmm, I'd guess the Hublot is worth little on the resale market IMO - basic model, not very attractive. The Speedy is the Reduced model I'm afraid, and again isn't going to fly out of the blocks on the resale market - you can buy a gen new for under $1000 so I would estimate around $400. The Zenith however is your banker, the EP movt alone means you'll shift it. Price, I reckon you'll get maybe $1000-1500 for it depending on condition. My pricing may be a little out since my native currency is not $ so please get some US opinions.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Wear it well So shiny, they'll see you coming a mile away Me? I'll be lurking in the shadows all stealth-like with my Black Steel

ARRGGHHHHH!! MY EYES!!!!!! *clawing and scratching* Gay is not the word...try hideous, deformed, tasteless, abhorrent, Elton John, etc I was offered a Vertu recently as one of my mates works for their PR, but I turned it down - one of the 'cheap' Ti models tasteful enough but an ergonomic disaster not to mention too chunky for the cut of my suit or even the little 'change' pocket on my jeans. No thanks. Still very happy with this old faithful of over two years now (without the cheesy AM branding of course) and yes, she's getting a bit long in the (blue)tooth now but aren't we all....

Some type of weird American sporting reference? Is it a good thing to "hit one out of the park" then? Ok what do I win then???? Oh....just for fun

Except you can't use the bloody card worldwide at a large and exponentially increasing amount of places. Amex is almost a pariah in a lot of places outside of the good ol' US. I don't know why, maybe their B2B admin/transaction charges? Who knows. Even the trusty Amex corporate card is a rare sight these days amongst Europeans. As for concierge, well my own card comes with a worldwide 24/7 concierge service that has proven more than upto even the most obscure, strange or impossible request I've chucked at it. Serious contacts, like a true concierge rather than some person on the end of the phone with access to the internet. As Ry says the usual insurance, repatriation, warranty etc. goodies and all this for a massive and exhorbitant FEE of

Putting TAG on a vintage Heuer......genius Strange as I'd heard of the Autavia reps way back, but I've never seen actually seen one, until now of course. Makes me wish I hadn't though, sorry
-
OMG, a white elephant if ever I heard of one. A strange attempt to get in on Nokia's Vertu market. But yes, interested to see but from an amusement/mocking stance, I can't imagine this will be anything in the least bit desirable or aesthetically pleasing.

I'm with r11co here, I'm not knocking you all (each to their own) but I think you're all certifiable pedants when it comes to the UPO And I don't buy this 'education' defence. Where's the fun in spending hundreds ordering the part from Ofrei and hoping it fits??? Unless of course the 'fun' is in dealing with a rude and grumpy man with a severe personality disorder? That's a world of difference from hunting down rare vintage Rolex parts, matching serial years with features, discussing the far-from-organised methodologies practised by Rolex thirty years ago. Same with Pams, modifying vintage Angelus and Cortebert movements, dial colours etc. That's the fun for me. Look, the UPO is one of the most perfect reps out there. I've had mine for a year now, sporting gen rubber, insert lines up perfectly in relation to bezel teeth, pearl nigh on perfect in appearance and alignment, and I've just had the crystal AR'd - now looks gen. The only thing that differentiaties it from the gen is the Omega logo on dial. Do I care? Nope. If you're really that bothered and that's your attitude (phone up a guy, quote a number, place an order) then for god's sake you may as well just order in the gen watch!!! Remember, passion is a positive obsession, whereas obsession is a negative passion

 Stupid as it is, I love that film, the best 'buddy' relationship since Candy and Martin in Planes, Trains.....

Right is LV rep (no idea on current modern Sub reps really but it's decent so suppose it's the Noob?) Left is gen 14060M no-date Sub, although despite the nice crisp dial fonts, the off-centre L still bothers me
