@Chief Would appreciate your valued input on the silver ring on the inner side (painted black on back) of the 187 rep crystal. Guessing it's some sort of rehaut 'tromp l'oeil'? Assume it didn't survive AR oven on the ones you've done. Just that mine's been removed with the rep light AR coating for k222's EU run. cheers DBR

Interesting. I disagree about the 'society' bit. Apologies for venturing WAY off topic but.... Fact - my year's intake at medical school was majority female 55% vs. 45% male. Fact - trend has continued by all accounts over last 10-15 years, hitting 60% in some schools. Fact - fast foward approx 10 years from entry and FRCS membership (surgeon exam/registration) comes out at 75-80% male. Fact - female neurosurgeons? Hens' teeth, I know of only two senior/prominent ones in the entire UK. Fact - female neurologists? relatively more common, but still... Assumption/myth - there is some societal-imposed sexist barrier to women reaching these positions, the old boy/school tie network still rules the profession, more than most in neurosurgery; etc. etc. Hmmm Fact - it requires a certain amount of sacrifice and selfish committment to make consultant/attending neurosurgeon (a highly competitive field), and in general women have other qualities, interests and goals (both professional and personal) that conflict with this and preclude the majority from attempting to challenge self-perpetuating myths and break down perceived but non-existent barriers. Please give your sister my best wishes - if she's good enough she'll make it. However something she should bear in mind - as one of my first mentors so eloquently put it, to make the grade "it's like climbing a huge pile of stinking sh*t atop of which is placed a beautiful rose. To reach it, you have to climb over others, even tread them into the sh*t if needs be to reach the prize. Only trouble is, if you're lucky enough to make it, by the time you reach the summit, you've lost your sense of smell..."

@diesel Thanks for stepping up and posting that, it is VERY informative as well as extremely shocking. Reading it, it's clear you were most likely bamboozled by the snake oil salesman ramblings. But the claims and some of the charges provided by Joe are beyond extortionate. I think the matter is now one for the Mods/Admin of this board to raise it with RWI equivalents in whatever manner they see fit. If I were you, I would just concentrate on getting your watch up to spec.

Upset? Upset is having to wait six months to get your watch back. Annoyed? Annoyed is having some poor quality work done, or getting excuses for delay. What adjective would you use then for being charged $650 for the privilege of being scammed??? Answers on a postcard please.... @Diesel - hope we haven't scared you off? Just seen... Please tell me you're joking? If not, you must post a breakdown of 'work' done now, but I warn you, you will not like what you're about to hear.

This rationale for posting this is inappropriate IMO. RBJ has been banned here for very good reasons, as you now know. This decision was not taken lightly but based on a large amount of evidence provided to Admin & Mods. In fact, your own experience isn't too dissimilar in some respects. You yourself missed the warnings about his MO, and yet you post this "so that others can make their minds up about him" . Well I'm sorry but as a community, we have a long time ago, so no need to exhume the corpse, so to speak. If you choose to use Joe, then do so privately or post this on RWI where I'm told he is a mod. But not here. It's not welcome or helpful in any sense. Even if he'd done a sterling job, it would be immaterial. I can see clearly, as others have pointed out, that he hasn't (even the CGs look asymmetric), and I'd be interested to see his exact breakdown of the work provided and exactly how much you paid! Maybe you could provide that info. But regardless, best advice I can give you is to put it down to experience and let sleeping dogs lie. You actually got off lightly so consider yourself lucky.
