  1. I have both. No difference these days worldwide. Historically though, MC was more the US card, with VISA the European card. Whatever, avoid Amex like the plague....like most retailers do
  2. Slight contradiction here R? Time setting correct or not? I always believed time setting was safer/correct for ETA 28xx stem removal until I read differently (TZ and your good self a while back) - and have since replaced stems on all movts without problems in pos.0. So once and for all, which is 'right'? But yes, pressing on the 7750 release button to reinsert is a likely missed step - discovered that for myself a couple of years back
  3. Fleming's or Brocolli's another of those arguments, doesn't matter really, largely depends what/who you believe But yes, a call was placed and the low-mid-level jobsworth clerk quoted company policy on loans and directed them to a retail source. BTW, I meant '62 of course not '67. But whilst we're veering off at a tangent...talking of sultry/husky-voiced Bond girls with a penchant for a nice watch, how about Honor Blackman, the most famously-named of all Bond girls who wore a 6542 GMT Master in Goldfinger? Probably the only Bond girl pre-Vesper that was a match for 'Meester Bond'.
  4. At least Alan laid a false trail to the hush-hush whereabouts of RWG HQ, something not everyone is mindful of....
  5. 1. What movt is in there? 7750 asian? Not being a Navi fan I have no idea but it would help to know 2. Did you remove the stem in the correct/safest position for that movt? Usually non-time-setting (pos.1) is the safest. 3. Did you remove stem using release mechanism correctly? Buttons (auto) or screws (manual). 4. You've tried slightly rotating stem as you reinsert? Sometimes needs a fine/precise touch to engage keyless works. Only thing that can possibly have happened if those scenarios aren't ringing any alarm bells is that you've messed up the keyless works - don't panic, you haven't "f**ked up" the movement, just needs a quick dial-side fix by a competent watchsmith.
  6. You know, I think only us WIS's love that scene, and I can see the other side.....it's quite possibly the most overt cheesy verbal product placement ever committed to celluloid (thank god there's no closeup). I mean it even has the outright cheek to jab a finger in the ribs of Rolex, a festering snub that dates back to 1967 when some snotty Rolex clerk suggested that the props director on Dr No should buy retail (in the end, Connery wore Fleming's own Rolex). But for all that, it is carried off with aplomb, probably due to the delivery of the two actors, particularly Ms Green. And I suggest any man (straight or gay even) that says either she, her voice, her accent or any other part of her is "annoying" just has bad taste. Elegantly gorgeous...*check*......confident/playful...*check*.....English spoken with sultry French accent *check*. Mmmmmm....
  7. And the Skyland Avenger.....and the ceramic GMT....etc......etc. Remember gents, tomorrow never comes
  8. Personally, I like the full version in context VL:"MI6 looks for maladjusted young men that give little thought to sacrificing others in order to protect Queen and country. You know, former SAS types with easy smiles and expensive watches......Rolex?" JB: Omega VL <nods appreciatively>
  9. Hmm, not quite got the art of haggling there have you? Considering the OP says the price he's been offered on the YM is
  10. Yes it's gen. But they haven't "come back" to anything - the 14060M has always been the weird retrograde model in the Sub lineup.
  11. @BT, there isn't a TT version of the new c.16 DD Racer, at least not in Europe. And thank god, because that is one fugly POS @VB - don't bother, the Calibre S version is a bit of a dog - oh the pics look nice, and I had a deposit down in 2005 prior to them shelving it literally weeks before release due to movement issues. Time moves on however, and unfortunately (or fortunately for me) in the interim until the eventual release this year, they did not take the oppotunity to upgrade the case, and it uses the same weedy 41mm case as the old 'Racer chrono. Movt is interesting though nothing special in comparison to what they're doing elsewhere (V4, c.360 LS). Comes in two colours - washed out-blue and insipid grey And on the wrist? Zzzzzz...... Honestly if I had to, I think the Link Calibre S is much sharper and that's coming from someone who really dislikes the Link series.
  12. Design is the same - maxi dial as per LV, the new bigger case seen in GMT, rehaut engraving, new bracelet and a ceramic version of same diver's insert. All-black. That's it. Nothing more. You can breathe again now, nothing to worry about
  13. yep just put item no. in 260138816631 wow, some piece...
  14. Mwahaha, bought it before all you suckers Ok...that was a lie
  15. Fish, I have the very same stunning combo of 217 on MPXI Papaya, except no superlume....well at least until next January
  16. Only 100 for the US? Interesting because I have my name down for one of the "50 to 75" Black Steel Skylands released onto the UK market next month. Total worldwide release is 2000 and I'm told in terms of priority the markets will be US, Japan, Germany, UK, Switzerland. Surprisingly inexpensive too about a grand less than the Blackbird but then it houses a 7750-based movt rather than a 2894 one. Hmm, now which will come first, the rep or the gen
  17. Not speculation at all Have it on the very best authority that the new Sub and SD (116610 and 116660 respectively) will use the new thicker GMT 41mm case and will sport a ceramic diver's bezel (which interestingly enough is not a ratchet 120-click on the GMT but a 'jump' 24-click, so maybe a 60-click for the Sub/SD?) along with the Daytona-type clasp and bracelet - will be most likely announced at Basel next spring for release Q3/4 2008 and delivery from Q1 2009.
  18. So you plan on just sending funds anyway and hoping? It's still a national holiday in China - ends tomorrow - so either be patient or resend email
  19. Amazing what a difference a minty fresh insert (and a tiny bit of plastic!) makes. Nice to see you're dressing the old girl up All that's left now is to swapout that scratched-up flattie for you-know-what (all the better to show off that chocolate dial), and voila..."perfection" I believe you have a date with a hockey puck
  20. However you look at this, it's not much more than rep 1665 with a $150 redial and supposedly a $750-900 c.1570 movt (no pics mind, hmmm). I doubt that caseback is one you'd receive. Whatever, the seller is trying to scam people, starting the bidding at over $3000. Reported, although I suspect those bids are shills. Either that or VERY stupid people.
  21. 1. No AR on gen (same with all Rolex) 2. Doesn't need it anyway (ditto above) 3. Would look weird 4. Would scream 'fake' 5. Cannot AR a crystal with cyclops attached without damage - 300 degrees C for hours will see to that
  22. Nope, did it myself. 'Out' (thumbs) easier than 'in' (home-made press ) but not really that difficult.
