  1. If he were capable, he would be here on his own - he wants me to do the work for him and hold his hand. Of course, that would mean an email from him every time his shipment was late or a watch doesn't meet his approval. He'd also probably walk up to every person he sees and say "see this watch, it's a fake! I got it over the internet! Can you believe it? You should get one too!" He's not a bad person - I don't want to insult him, I just don't want to share a hobby with him.
  2. That's exactly what I DON"T want to do - I want him to lose interest in the hobby entirely and go back to virtual pig farming. Trust me, you don't want him here!
  3. Not that easy - too many friends in common. Too much collateral damage. MasterOfPuppets gave me an idea, I could just go through my old bookmarks for one that's dead and just say "sorry, dude - guess they got busted"
  4. OK, there's this guy I know who found out my Breitling is a rep, he loves that watch and he's begging me for a source. The thing is - this guy is a bit of an ass and I certainly don't want to get him near any of our "trusted" dealers. I also don't want him emailing me over and over every time he buys something. So, what I need is a website that is absolutely terrible, that will make him crazy - sell him crap and in general make him want to leave me and the rep hobby alone forever and a day. Yes, I feel bad about leading the guy astray but I'd feel worse if he got involved in collecting reps. He's the kind of guy who would call up the feds and say "hey, I just bought this fabulous watch - is this legal? Here's the website URL!" Any suggestions?
  5. Sexy is quite simply - successful The problem with that is "what does a person consider successful?" To a cowgirl, successful may be brawny or powerful like a pickup truck, to a debutante it may be elegant and luxurious like a Bentley. To a biker chick, successful may be the guy with the most tattoos. In women, generally people from areas(or times)where food is scarce see full figured women as sexy, as that denotes success in finding food - whereas people who come from areas where food is abundant see slim women sexier as it implies success in self-control and moderation. Men who see child-bearing as important usually prefer women with full hips and large busts(better breeding stock), whereas men who don't see children as quite so important often prefer slimmer, more athletic figures. In men, a cowgirl might like big muscles and chiseled features as these intone a rugged man who would be successful as a rancher, a city girl puts less importance on muscle and look more at intelligence, clothing and manners that would serve a man well in the urban social scene (and job market). Of course, it's a lot more complicated than that and there are thousands of variables, but the important thing is that sexy is different to every person because everyone defines success differently. But almost everyone defines sexy in terms of what they consider successful, well proportioned and effective in their particular environment.
  6. I've bought 4 from Angus, he's not the fastest but I think he's best on QC and can always find parts when you need them
  7. Don't bother, from what I've heard they're all junk and break in a week - plus anyone can tell them from a mile away. Real people wear real watches - preferably at full list with an expensive extended warranty and service contract.
  8. Quite frankly, most people can't spot the $20 Rolex fakes they sell on Canal street - they probably don't even know if the B01 is supposed to have a datewheel or not let alone how deep it's supposed to be set. And even if you know, you have to look pretty closely to see it. You'd look pretty stupid staring at some guy's watch on the bus trying to see if the DW is at the correct depth. This is just "the guys" wanting everything perfect. On the street it makes no diff at all.
  9. Not like there's a shortage of boxes on display in teh intarwebs!
  10. Went to King's site - she doesn't seen to have the black with white subdials combo - interesting. Also, it looks like she's planning on offering the SOH with a steel mesh strap - SEXY! Given a choice between an SOH on mesh and a B01, it's no contest.
  11. Wearing Cartier won't hurt around the ladies, unless you like Biker Chicks
  12. I'm willing to give one a try -
  13. I'll have to ask at the local AD - sometimes these things don't show in pictures.
  14. Looks a lot like a standard Pilot to me - Luckily this is not a major issue, you can get a gen pilot new for $700, used off the bay for a lot less.
  15. The subdials on the gen have a unique ridging - I don't see this on the reps. Second thought, maybe I do - it shows up better on some models than on others. You can see it on the white and silver dials. I would have to guess it's on the others as well, you just can't see it in the pics -
  16. I can't imagine why they would put a different bracelet on this one, they've been making decent pilot bracelets for Chronomat Evos for years. Maybe it just looks funny in the picture due to perspective or something.
  17. The big problem for me is the bracelet - should have diagonal-cut links (Pilot bracelet), in the pics it looks like they're square.
  18. Not so much on steel, but have a genuine croc strap made for it and this watch reeks class -
  19. With chrono pushers, a stem, case openings and crystals front and back, I doubt you could get it past 2 atmos. Too many points of entry. As long as it's not under pressure, in the rain or something, it would probably be OK.
  20. Nobody buys a Hublot to use as a dive watch - if you want to swim with it get a DSSD
  21. If they did change servers, the links to their credit card gateway won't work until they get the addresses straightened out which might take a few days. You can still order through BK if you can't wait -
  22. I've had an Acetimer quad for two years now with no complaints - planning on upgrading to an eight-watch soon -
  23. The back engraving is clearly better on that one -
  24. I can't believe they went to all the trouble to make a 1:1 case and left the "Swiss Made" off the dial at 6. VC never gets any respect -
  25. True, but the reason there are so many good reps these days is because people spent $$$ to get the best thing out there. If people spend $$$ on the "dressed" 2836, it won't be long before a real 3135 clone comes along, and a better one after that. Just look at the DSSD.
