  1. That milgauss is really growing on me. I've resisted Rolex for 6 years, but I can't help myself when it comes to the milgauss. That second hand makes me smile every time I see it.
  2. Looks damn good. Nice upgrade.
  3. Btw David, we're not poking fun at you. We've all been there! There probably isn't a veteran member here that couldn't tell you a story or two about their own worst rep transaction when starting out. I hope your package arrives. If it never does, take comfort in knowing that after spending a few weeks on this forum, you'll likely wind up with a watch that is 10 times better than what you were trying to originally buy. School of hard knocks, $60; knowledge you can glean from these forums...priceless.
  4. It could be a refund in replica francs...
  5. Congrats on your anniversary. Fifty watches in 52 weeks is a pretty good record!
  6. Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid you've asked the taboo question my friend, which is why you got a couple sarcastic responses. The only question that will get you flamed quicker is "who has the best sub?". There are quite a few unspoken rules to this forum, but fortunately no unwritten ones. Take a look at the post "Edges guide to replica forums", and give it a quick read. It will answer dozens of questions, and help you to steer clear of lots of trouble. Once you've the basics covered, you'll find that this place is filled with extremely knowledgable, helpful folks. Best of luck. Also, I'd advise you to stay away from gold and platinum for your first rep. Stick to the basics, and build some relationships before you cross that bridge.
  7. Nice looking watch. BTW. One of your earlier Seiko posts got me thinking about Seiko for the first time and inspired me to look for a Marine Master Diver. These are some amazing watches. When I started thinking about it, they're superior to most "Swiss" watches in very important ways. 1. They make their own movements 2. They quality and reliability of the movement is unsurpassed 3. They're actual tool watches. People actually wear them for their "intended" purpose. These are exceptional timepieces that have real wrist presence. I think I may have the Seiko bug.
  8. Just mailing the cash is a bit cheaper because the transaction fees are lower. If you're going to burn money, you might as well do for the cost of a stamp rather than racking up all of those paypal fees. A zippo would be cheaper still, but fewer and fewer people are smokers these days...
  9. +1 "Karma is a real thing" Someday he'll rip off the wrong guy and regret it. The irony is that most of the folks at RWG are gentlemen; now that he can no longer trade (at least not with the 19,000 people who have apparently viewed this post) he's stuck trading with the rest of the planet. There are plenty of folks in the darker corners of the rep world who don't worry about paypal dispute when they want to even the score. Also, he's probably a bit of creep and there is a good chance some lovely young lady will google his name when he asks for her phone number. Sorry no names to be published on the forum thanks. Ken Either way, it's a damn shame this happened and my heart goes out to the folks that got scammed by this jerk. Banning is too good for him.
  10. I've never held TC v6 sub, but I think the advice that Nightwatch gave is sound. You should hold it in your hands before you decide to buy expensive aftermarket parts. From what I've seen in pics, they're pretty tough to improve upon. That said, some of best members here have the frankenbug, and wouldn't consider any rep complete until they've had a chance to swap some gen parts
  11. That's a pretty incredible movement. Hard to imagine it was even possible to build it back then.
  12. This is exactly why we need a IRWSB (International Rep Watch Standards Board). There should be standards regarding rep version taxonomy and nomenclature. Fractional version numbers should be prohibited to avoid precisely these sorts of mix-ups.
  13. I'm not sure what's more unusual: the watch sale being conducted under water, or a $10,000 dive watch in contact with a wetsuit... Awesome marketing nevertheless!
  14. What a bummer docthor. I'm sorry this happened to you. I can't remember the last time I saw a PP Dispute bomb authorized by the admins, so I think it goes without saying that you're in the right here. It's so rare to see the Paypal Dispute bomb dropped that I had never even heard of the "expert report" clause. For what little it's worth, props to you for going through all the proper channels with the admins and doing this the right way. That shows you're a classy guy with respect for RWG and the rep world. I wish it had worked out differently; you deserved better. This seller is a total jerk. Banning is too good for him.
  15. That's a great looking watch. The holograms on the crystal are terrific. Nice buy! I think the two best features of the FM watches are: 1. No one is quite sure what it is but they know it looks special 2. No one has ever seen a gen, so even rep geeks have a hard time making the rep/gen call Enjoy your new toy!
  16. Wow! Sounds like a great opportunity. Why would I buy from a trusted dealer with whom there is at least marginal accountability and well established track record spanning thousands of transactions when Jack will deal with me directly? I hope I can mail cash for additional discounts! <end sarcasm> I should probably add for the benefit of any new members that this is what spam looks like on a Rep forum...
  17. That's why I patented the 6 month part (it's the only part of my process that's patented). If I didn't stick to the 5-6 month inactivity period, all hell would break loose
  18. Looks fantastic. I'm not an IWC man but this is watch is definitely on my list. You're wristy adds another tic in the "got to buy one of these" column, despite the 1 sided AR. I'm glad yours came through customs in one piece.
  19. I don't think I've ever bought a rep without having a few beers first. Here is my patented rep buying process: 1. Get the itch several months after my last rep purchase 2. Research the heck out of a rep, burning 5-10 hrs on the forums 3. Get lost in the minutia of the merits of version X vs version Y vs Gen 4. Get discouraged that the date wheel font is off by .00001 mm vs Gen on the numerals 6 and 9 5. Throw in the towel and decide not to waste my money 6. Forget about it for 2-3 weeks 7. Have a couple beers, remember the watch, grab my laptop, buy the watch on the spot 8. Repeat in 6 months It's not a terribly efficient process, but by God it's gotten me a nice little collection over the years!
  20. Nifty. I've got to pick up a blacklight and try this out.
  21. Incredible. Well done sir. You are one mad SOB.
  22. Thanks for the leads gentleman. I'm glad to hear there still someone in conus doing good AR work.
  23. I've been out of the rep world for a while and I was bummed to see that Chieftang is no longer doing AR work. Is there anyone in CONUS who is doing quality AR work for reps? I tried searching the forums but the search terms AR and Chieftang just got me a gazillion old posts with no leads. I'm guessing this has been discussed in the past but I can't find the posts for the life of me. I noticed that the only AR modder listed in the lounge is still Chieftang, which doesn't bode well... Thanks in advance.
  24. The best rep money can buy is the one you bought today. I obsessed over my first rep purchase, which was a 4th gen Planet Ocean from Narikaa. I don't know how many hours I spent reading reviews and searching the posts. One night, after a couple of beers, I pulled the trigger and ordered it. I waited anxiously and it showed up on my doorstep about 5 weeks later. It's been my daily beater for 6 years now. It's not perfect, and after 6 years of use, it's a bit scratched, but it keeps perfect time. I've bought other reps since, but I still love this one the best (I'm wearing it right now actually). Buy a rep from a trusted dealer and you'll get a quality rep 90% of the time. If you have QC issues, which does happen, the trusted dealers here will generally sort it out within reason. Keep in mind that even when you buy a gen, it isn't a warantee against problems. The only gen watch I own died after 2 years of use, and it was going to cost a fortune to fix it. Instead, I just left it dead in my watch box, and bought a rep to replace it for a lot less money. Best of luck!
