  1. It's the fact they can compete. Omega can now point to Oris et al as having an 'inferior' movement. They could never do this while they were putting the same movements in their watches as their competition.
  2. Looking good ...
  3. Van we clarify what we're supposed to be 'voting' on? Is it best Omega rep of 2007? Or is it the best Omega rep we owned in 2007? If it's the former, there are no good Omega reps out in 2007. If it's the latter, I'll vote Discontinued Moonwatch or closed factory 007 ( not that I owned one, but I know people who did). Now, if you wanted to vote best Omega of 2006, I'd say uPO. My advice: create a poll listing the watches you want us to vote from.
  4. I'm not sure I understand. ps. If you ordered a 4th gen Planet Ocean, you got an ETA with Sapphire.
  5. For oil on the dial, I'd use Rodico. For the lint, I'd get JOE
  6. Just three? I think I could go for three, as long as they're not always the same three. I see three watches as an absolute minimum.
  7. I'm sure IPs will out JL. If I had to guess, I'd guess someone that enjoys Athena posters and large single-image signatures ...
  8. You like Concords?
  9. It allows you to put just that little bit more pressure on.
  10. I've been wearing this one, only with the steel bracelet:
  11. When did the new ratings system get installed? It's excellent! So, everybody, try rating the posts by clicking the little icons down at the bottom right of posts.
  12. No-one but you is awaiting a gen vintage Rolex, Nanuq.
  13. I presumed he was talking about the 1.2mm slot on the 2836 et al. My apologies. In that case, don't use a screwdriver (save that for the 2836), use a toothpick. ps. I use an awl. Looks like a jeweller's screwdriver with a spike instead of a head.
  14. BCE is a 7750. There is no nodule. You may have to rotate it slightly to release it, but it should come out freely.
  15. I tend to like watches as opposed to brands. Having said that, I have six sports Rolexes including 2 MBK watches, five Panerais, but no Davidsens, a few IWCs, Breitlings and an Omega. When my MBK 1665 or 1680 is finally finished (will they ever be?) then one or both will join my major rotation cycle which is generally Super-Reps. Does this mean I'm a quality freak? Is that my niche? I still like to think of it as the kind of targeted variety that comes from merely having good taste.
  16. Well, you've seen a sneak preview, so you know it's back on the word processor ... but it has shown me one thing and that's the sheer amount of effort required to produce one of these guides.
  17. Yes, but with better meat and bread, amazing chilli sauce and chips piled on.
  18. Are there any good 2007 Omega replicas? When did the Railmaster come out?
  19. I got my Omega Planet Ocean in 2007, does that count as a 2007 Omega? Was this supposed to be all brands or just Omega? All brands is the SFSO, hands down.
  20. Yeah, like Fine Art collectors. It's just paint on canvas! Oh, wait... If something has a price and someone is willing to pay it, it doesn't make them stupid, unless the item is available elsewhere cheaper. If you don't think that's sensible then that's ok, but don't assume they have more money than sense.
  21. All it would take is someone that's lost a DRSD dial to RSC to want to return their watch to its original state. Serial numbers will match the claim it's a DRSD and his devalued SeaDweller just got its value back.
  22. It went "ooh, cheap! getitgetitgetit" before I realised what I bought. Then it made several noises not unlike a greenstick fracture.
  23. My IWC GST does indeed get less wrist time than my SFSO. One aspect of this is that the GST doesn't fit nicely in a travel case and another aspect is Titanium is for winter. But yes, if you'd have said a Blumpyling would be high in my rotation, I'd have scoffed. Tastes change and I'm not too proud to admit that. Ask me again in a year if the GST gets no wrist-time at all. That would surprise me.
  24. ...and the different font used for the "2836" writing.
