  1. OMWF ... The Cousteau Diver 2007 has been scrapped (essentially) but the basic 42mm Aquatimer Chrono that we've been waiting for all these years has not.
  2. I've removed the "get well soon" message from my signature as he got well, and soon.
  3. That explains why the gloves are too big. It's a Minnie Mouse costume, right?
  4. Yeah. I suffered from it a few times. "Panerais are fugly and I'll never, ever appreciate them ... *twang* ... Ooh, shiny 111h!"
  5. We have a new term: Wokky.
  6. Take a steel pin to the gen to prove it.
  7. Buy a diamond tester. It's the only non-destructive test. The water test is a good test on untreated sapphire, but if you have decent hardened AR, the coating can make the test inconclusive.
  8. ... until you buy one, of course. I only liked Navitimers, but the lumpy Breitlings held no appeal for me ... until the SFSO came out and my brain snapped.
  9. If you used that phrase for the 127 or 187, it'd have merit. Both those models are ugly to the point of beauty. I love the 187 fugly tin can and wear it regularly, but there's no way I'd wear an Eggy. The Eggy-ziano is just silly. It's like a fashion-designer's totally insane catwalk masterpiece before it gets watered down to something actually wearable for the high-street by someone with their feet on the ground and an eye on the bottom line. It's too much Panerai.
  10. Oh, and they may have filmed with a GMT, but they CGIed it into a 2007 Seamaster.
  11. Ah, I get it. You're a barman so you judge a city by the bar prices. If you do that, then yes, Paris is hideously expensive. However, having moved from London to Paris and taking a pay cut in the process, I had more disposable income in Paris than in London. Start with travel, then go to the cost of regular stuff like DVDs, games, CDs, supermarket shopping ... and as long as you don't compare bar prices, Paris is outright cheaper on everything. So, if you're a tourist looking for a drink, sure, Paris is pricey, but if you're doing anything else, London is more expensive. Now you know why Parisians drink at each others' houses.
  12. London is more expensive to live there. Considerably more. Oh, and I can tell you that Paris is cheaper to eat and drink in than most of the South-East of England if you don't hit the tourist spots.
  13. Wait until he fits the no-date dial.
  14. Really? Seems quite cosmopolitan to me.
  15. I await part 2 with antici ... pation.
  16. The Zigmeister reviewed one of these, but it wasn't stamped. The stamp is the only new bit. ps. Here's the executive summary of the review: "Coo, them's good, them's is."
  17. Leading questions if ever I've seen them. I'll write a proper reply when I have time, but the basic short answers are ... 1: You'll need a camera with a good lens. If you're on a low budget, don't consider an SLR yet. A camera with a Macro setting is hard to avoid, but you'll most likely not need to use Macro settings, even for photographing watches, surprisingly. A light tent (search the forum for several light-tent how-tos for more detail) or some control over your lighting is essential. Good lighting on an average camera is better than average lighting on a good camera. Oh, and a tripod, you'll need one of those. 2: I don't have any. How about you, Usil? Got any good links? 3: One word (for Windows users): Picasa. Read this link for more info: How To Post Photos Of Your Watches Here Oh, and just because I've got the key to this forum doesn't mean you can't all pile in with tips, hints and general photo stuff. We may just be a watch forum, but we all love pictures of watches - Have a go! We're here to help.
  18. Like I said before, their DNS server is down. pugwash@brian$ jwhois replica-watch.info | grep 'Name Server' | head -1 Name Server:NS2.WEBEXTREMITY.COM pugwash@brian$ dig @NS2.WEBEXTREMITY.COM replica-watch.info ; <<>> DiG 9.3.1 <<>> @NS2.WEBEXTREMITY.COM replica-watch.info ; (1 server found) ;; global options: printcmd ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
  19. Seeing as they never existed, no.
  20. This must be that new definition of Simple I've only ever come across on these forums.
  21. Some of us never thought the dials on our SFSOs were wrong. They're not at all wrong, regardless of rumours of a curved-tailed S and a thin date window. The only difference between our rep dials and the gen is the lume. The problem comes from people comparing them with the base SFSO and not the one we have replicas of: the 2007 SFSO X-Plus. Square box on seconds, diagonal slash bracelet, bold date-window, straight-line base of tail on the S ...
  22. No, I'm English, but I lived in Paris until April this year. We invited you to the Paris get-togethers a few times, but you never replied ... I left Paris in April (after 8 years there ...) and moved to Scotland.
  23. If I had that kind of money, I'd buy a Millionsmart Tourbillon.
  24. He's in Montparnasse. I lived in Montmarte.
