  1. Are you suggesting he's the the capybara's spats?
  2. Flappers never really made it to the 1930s as the lifestyle didn't survive the great depression. Besides, the amount of flapper culture (particularly language) that is still with us is an enormous legacy. If Posh N' Becks have the same impact as the flappers, it'll be an incredible personal achievement - but let's be honest, it's not going to happen. I think perchance you're underplaying the cultural significance of the flappers.
  3. Unusual as my 22mm straps are too big. Do you have the 21600vph version or the 28800vph version?
  4. Does Halogen charge lume? I thought it needed a UV content in the light to charge it. I could be wrong, but certain lights charge lume better than others, in my experience.

  6. If Beckham plays well and gets popular and people start to understand Soccer, then when England calls him back for Internationals, Galaxy fans will seek out the matches to follow their player. That will get them hooked on Internationals. When the World Cup rolls up next, you'll finally be like the rest of us. I have a lot of faith in Beckham to play better than anyone else in the US. He has to, really, and if he does, the richer teams will try to buy more European and South American players and that, my friends, would be fun to watch.
  7. You can take Madonna back as a sign of goodwill. Please ... If we have to take people from The Americas, can't we have Salma Hayek?
  8. Yes, they are, as long as they're in good condition. I no longer have my Eagle Transporter from Space 1999, unfortunately, but like every other kid I had one and lost/damaged/destroyed it making mint examples worth cash today.
  9. Ok, will you be willing to bet on their failure? I'll take that bet. You lot are going to start to become Soccer fans and the Spice Girls reunion will cause a mini-resurgence of Spice Fever in the US. Shame, but that's the way of things. "One piece of advice, make the nets smaller" - Dan Rydell, Sports Night.
  10. Yes, gay. What is more gay than going to an art museum? (no, don't answer that)
  11. While I can't fault the remainder of your rant, I do take umbrage at this line. What is a real celebrity? She was exceedingly well-known as a singer as part of the Spice Girls who released three albums and sold 53 million records and part of a multi-year media firestorm. If she's not a celebrity then no-one is. I'm not saying she's that talented, but she's without a doubt a by-the-book definition celebrity.
  12. And boxes of live chickens, of all things.
  13. mmm ... sweet. (is that cruel?)
  14. If it's anything like a duck, it'll be that one leg is both the same.
  15. Of course. The toys were popular when I was growing up in the 70s.
  16. Black NATO works well.
  17. Firefly is, without a doubt, the finest TV series ever made. The attention to detail was superb, like one scene where one character (Jayne) was firing his gun in outer-space, he had to put his gun inside a space suit to surround it in atmosphere. And yes, they had no sound in vacuums. The first to do so since Kubrik's 2001.
  18. IIRC, TTK, or someone else, was offering lower-mag cyclopses. I'd have to search the forum to be sure, at which point I'll let you do it instead.
  19. Yeah, research isn't really that hard. It pays to do some before you post something that makes you look silly.
  20. Nice Monster, Stephane. I just sold mine due to shortness of cash, but I kept my Orange one.
  21. I think that's the problem. The too-deep rehaut on the MBWs/TWs is the reason the magnification is too high. The further away the datewheel, the higher the magnification.
  22. I seem to remember someone selling after-market cyclopses. Oh, and changing crystals won't help as much as you'd think as the magnification is a factor of the rehaut as well as the cyclops.
  23. I send stuff from the UK to the US and EU and have learned one thing: The delivery time is like a random number generator. Sometimes three days, sometimes fourteen, usually something in-between.
