  1. If I were rich, I would not be partaking in this hobby. As it is, I'm not rich, and this hobby enthuses me and I love the learninating and studinating aspects as much as the photoage-takinating and reviewinataging. However, motivation is waning a little as the community is getting used to the stuff we, the hardcore article posters, are posting. We're getting less reinforcement from the community than before and that's leading to a decline in enthusiasm and motivation. How can you stop this? Find a post you read and liked that made you think or made you smile and reply to it. A simple "nice post" or "nice pictures" or "that's funny" will do. Give The Zigmeister a hug, comment on one of By-Tor's reviews, tell Ubiquitous you love his Daytonas, remind TTK he takes good pictures, discover future stars Stephane or Seadweller4000's posts and tell them what you think, ask Justasgood how he does those mods, Enquire after V's strap collection, laugh at Nanuq's antics and cry at his collection, roll your eyes at Slay's latest, tell Dutchy he looks like a chick, thank the Moderators here for the stalwart work they're doing ... find someone on this list I've not mentioned and remind me to not forget them next time. Heck, even post in the shortest thread! Just take part, keep the hobby alive, help the community by being part of it. If you don't keep us happy, we may all find hobbies that do and I for one would not be happy with that result. Damn, this post seems to have been brewing in me for a while. Looks like it's escaped.
  2. I use the following tools on non-rolex watches: This is for Rolexes: All these were bought from dealers on this very forum: Narikaa and Precious Time. As soon as I can get my Narikaa Sticky Ball inflated, I'll use that more, too.
  3. 7750
  4. Faces and movements, I can do. Superlume, I can't. I offer no warranty or insurance, unless you want to pay extra. If you're a lot more specific in your requests, you'll get much better answers.
  5. Again? Didn't we do this last week? Ok, the stem on a 7750 needs to be perfectly aligned to go in. It's tricky, but I've never broken a keyless works on a 7750 (whereas I've done 4 on a 2836 and can now rebuild them blindfold). The amount of pressure you can apply on the latch is more than you think. Take the movement out and refit the stem out of the case. Still the same problems?
  6. Agreed! I'm still in bed so I've not decided what to wear yet.
  7. I worked at Wizards of the Coast from 1993 (or 1995 depending on when you count it from) to 1998, and we set up the UK office for them. I sold my M:tG collection (including 8 Black Lotuses) and bought a Ducati 748 in 1998. Hasbro bought WotC the year after I left, which was good for me (25 shares, yay!), but if I'd have stayed, my options would have netted me a five-figure sum. Still, no regrets as it was fun and I still have a lot of friends in the industry and I travelled all over the world with WotC.
  8. They were D&D monsters, not M:tG cards ... Or at least, if they are M:tG cards, they were introduced after I finished working at Wizards of the Coast ...
  9. I presume this would not be rated water resistant.
  10. Including mine! What a beauty.
  11. The lume. Nice choice of gen.
  12. I haven't played for a while, but I'm looking forward to getting some games in soon. I love the game.
  13. ps. Dutchy looks like a chick.
  14. I await the 2894 clone with eager anticipation!
  15. My rebuilt 187, a watch with a high fuglitude, is currently on my wrist. Comments are, as always, actively solicited and appreciated. click for 1440px wide version
  16. I hope you like my latest Steelfish shot. Comments, as always, appreciated. click for 1280px wide version
  17. My weekend has been fraught with decisions over what to wear and I settled, finally, on these three: Yes, I even set up the camera, finally.
  18. Think about what you just said for a second. How would the screws being on the outside hold the movement in?
  19. Did you check the Breitling Guide? If so, you'd have read this already: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=30679 ps. No, it doesn't have AR.
  20. I find the white date on a white dial is quite easy to overlook. That's just me though.
  21. Long story, but Admin asked n00bs to post why they deserved VIP status on the 1st birthday of RWG. Corgi said he would pimp his US-loving eagle-on-flag signature for a VIP, so I paid for his VIP and gave him that avatar and banner. He was an excellent sport, even changing his avatar text to something in line with the new avatar/banner, keeping to his side of the bargain even when Admin decided to give everyone that took part a month's free VIP, no strings attached. Your post reminded me Corgi kept up his banner way longer than can be construed as fair, so I'm letting him off the hook.
  22. the 7750 layout is better for accuracy, but I prefer the Tri-compax 7753 layout, even with the recessed date.
  23. It's more likely that presidents can't spend money.
