A homage is a copy but isn't a trademark infringement. It's a really simple division. Homages are legal and trademark infringements aren't, and that's the criteria used by the gen forums. I can't see where the grey area is.
And I've got a watch that says Panerai on the dial, but it's counterfeit. I can live with that.
