  1. I have the one on the left and even using that I have to resort to the pin and hammer.
  2. Ok, now I'm hearing flashes of light. they're popping in my periphery vision. Oh, here's a pic of the TRL I'm subjecting myself plingplingpling to:
  3. Nice work. It makes me want a new PAM.
  4. I do think so. I mean if it weren't for Mrs Pugwash's father being an engineer by trade (typically British in so far as he handmakes telescopes in his garage/workshop for a living) I doubt she'd be as tolerant of my having tools, but as it is, she has more than me and buys me presents like a table vice, for instance, assuming that I'd need one to play with watches. In fact I feel so British (what? eh?) that I'm off to make myself a cuppa. Rather.
  5. True, but I wouldn't have done this if I didn't know PT had a backup on its way. It's quite risky to the fit and finish of the bracelet. One thing is sure, I know I have the hellish task of resizing the replacement bracelet when it arrives. Maybe I'll oil soak it overnight before trying.
  6. I've been looking for that precise one too. I keep seeing other ones with the arabic numbers and black subdials instead. One day, I'll get it.
  7. Fantastic. Another thing the guys in the gen forums won't do. Go on, my son, give it a good whack!
  8. My 45mm Planet Ocean arrived today from Precious Time and as I am sure you can imagine, this made me very happy. However, while trying to resize the strap, I noticed this: Crap. Time to mail PT. He replied that he'd order in a replacement and this made me happy once again. Good dealers look after you. So, I put it on my Bob for Breitling 22mm strap and went to work. It got praised by those who notice these kinds of things and all was well once more. However, I was determined not to be beaten by what PT described as "one of the worst places to break from" and got out an old Seanaster (sic) strap. It almost worked too, however the end piece was different and it stopped it from closing and all manner of stuff that didn't make me happy. As you can see, the ends are different. So, I did what anyone in my position would do. I got out the table vice and started thinking. If I put a split pin across it and widened the closed end and then splayed out the open end with an awl ... In the vice everything goes ... That's the closed end secured, but the open end is too long. Now, doesn't Mrs Pugwash have some metal shears? If not, I'll have to get out the dremel. Oh, lookee here! Get in there, my son! ... and that seemed to do. Let's tidy it up a bit ... ... and put it back together. There, all back together. Oh, one word about the PO bracelet, like the gen, it has tubes inside the bits. These are the three parts of each link: If you ever need to resize your strap and you're new to this whole thing, take it to a shop. It's one of the most stubborn bitches I've ever worked on. Damn, it's tough. I broke one pin wrenching it out with pliers, when the tools I used would go no further. Seriously, pay someone. And here it is!
  9. It's arrived. Strap issues mean it's staying on leather until Precious Time fixes me up with a new strap (on its way) but you should expect a lot of photos. It's big bit not overly so. It's not that heavy on leather, either. I'm very pleased with it, and the black feels smaller than the orange, and I'm amazed how well it fits. I think I'll wear it more than I thought I would.
  10. Yeah, but it is gorgeous.
  11. Shh, don't let the Libertarians hear you! They're all over the internet and they'll start quoting Ayn Rand at you! ... and they're armed!
  12. No, but here's the black on black: Better pics tonight ...
  13. Things like cartelling and quangoes happen all the time in free and open markets. That's the problem with free markets and open markets. It's why we simply don't use them in the western world, contrary to what Americans seem to understand. What we have are highly regulated markets. We need them to keep capitalist from succumbing to the lower prices of their neighbours, so we impose subsidies and duties, carrot and stick, in the hope that it keeps the faith in our economic strength alive. There's nothing overly wrong with our current capitalist system, but to call it either open or free is a fallacy. ... just my 2.6c US
  14. Still no change. No, wait. Blues are looking a little more vibrant and yellows are losing their tone. Nothing serious though. Slight tracers from waving my fingers in front of my face. I'll stop doing that now.
  15. I see the forum says your local time is 4pm which would put you in the UK. If this is indeed the case, I would recommend Precious Time who is in the UK and therefore has quick delivery times and doesn't get customs hassles. Usually, I'd say Narikaa as well, as he's in the UK as well, but he's currently swanning round the far-east. When he gets back, I'll turn my hearty recommendation back on. If, however, your local time is wrong, please go into your control panel and fill in your time and location to make it easier to help you.
  16. Good, good.
  17. I hope you're looking after my 16610 ...
  18. great post. You forgot to mention the size of your wrist, however. I found with my 6.75" wrist, I was breaking a lot of stands unless I added links for photos which wasn't convenient at all. Then, however, Narikaa sent me some smaller ones and I'm breaking them at a much, much lower rate.
  19. There is no good Big Pilot rep today. Now, will there be one? I bet there will. I'm thinking we'll have a good rep of this very, very soon. Just a guess, like.
  20. Well, yeah, he wins because he's Ubi, basically. Still, I'm exceedingly jealous and in awe of the 'Tona. Con-bloody-grats, mate.
  21. My new Planet Ocean 45mm from PT and it had a TRL sticker on the bottom. In honour of this thread, I kept the sticker on just ... to ... see ... what ... would ... happen! So far, no change.
  22. The rotor is where you beat Ubi. Of course he wins overall because he has two ...
  23. It would appear it arrived. Congrats.
  24. Happy Birthday, Sherlock!
