  1. I'm being totally unoriginal and wearing what I wore yesterday: It's sporty and classy without being too blingy. Maybe I'll change into this later for dinner bling:
  2. sw00t! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L33t Not a lot to do with wrl0dz0rzcr4ft.
  3. At that magnification, yes. In normal use, it's noticeable but fine.
  4. If they had, they would have been berated for not using one of the movements on the list. This was, to me, the one disappointment to me of the poll. The amount of people who entered watches they wanted to see repped that had nothing to do with the competition rules. Added movement complications, 2894s instead of 7753s, $15000 pricetags, oversized ... It's as if the opportunity weren't as important as just showing off your favourite obscure gen. With a little homework, I feel the IWCs I proposed could have been given a proper run for their money.
  5. I reckon ... $458.
  6. In foggy Scotland on Christmas Eve, it's a GST day:
  7. Ah, you must have missed the rules. The Seahawk was not reppable according to the rules set by the person that was paying for the replica to be made. Therefore, for the purposes of this discussion, it's not reppable.
  8. Hang on, if you're taking about just making a thicker datewheel, then no chance. You need to make a datewheel above the transfer gears and make a new mechanism to raise it. The transfer gears are installed ON TOP OF the datewheel.
  9. I liked it too, but it was unreppable.
  10. I'd also like to express my thanks to Richard Admin and Silix Jay. This is an ambitious endeavour. I'm proud to be part of it.
  11. Get well soon!
  12. With a 2894?
  13. A little ... four times the price. ps. I do like that Marathon ...
  14. Not without adding a lot more height, from what I can tell.
  15. The crystal is hardlex, a laminate of glass and something scratchproof. It's not that scratchable ... ps. How much is that Marathon? Same price-range?
  16. Where are your suggestion Polls then?
  17. If you're asking if all Asian 7753 copies have sunken datewheels, then the answer is yes. And yes, the reason is the transfer gears that sit above the datewheel to move the 12 to 3. Genuine 7753s are built differently, obviously, and don't have sunken datewheels.
  18. It's not the price, it's the sub-dials. Does a 7753 the same subdial placement as the Ebel 137? What about depth? If a watch has to be made deeper, it's not a 1:1. Nobody has done the homework on this one, and that's all it would take. As for the IWC, the case for a chrono and a non-chrono is mostly the same, but a chrono is deeper and has pushers. The only common component the aqua and aqua chrono share is the strap. Yes, they look similar and offer us lots of subtle variants, but I see this as an advantage. Trust me, I wanted to see the Ebel as well. I voted for it and I'd wear one.
  19. Is that a photo of your TV?
  20. --> QUOTE(d.b @ Dec 23 2006, 03:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>in case i would like to have my sub for a glass mod..where can i purchase a brand new gen rolex submariner sapphire glass? and how much it should cost? and i mean, a real gen part.. not one of these "aftermarket faked stuff" that alot of people are trying to sell as gen for like $20.. Ok, if you're about to try some heavy mods, it may be better to consider getting a better Sub. You're about to spend a horrendous amount of money on gen parts so it'd be better to start off with a more solid base. Check out Ubiquitous's 16610 Frankenrep for what you should be aiming for. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10204 As you can see, there's no need to get a replacement crystal if you start with a decent replica.
  21. If you have an old toothbrush, it works wonders.
  22. To clarify, no. I mean no replica has ever been made using a Lemania movement (apart from an obscure frankenwatch somewhere). There are some movements that dealers call Lemania, but they're lying. Lemania chrono movements are completely different and have different subdial spacing etc., and can be seen in genuine Moon Watches. What we get are Seagull ST9s, which are licensed Venus 175 copies. Please stop calling Seagull ST19 movements Lemania, it's confusing. The sooner we stop accepting it, the sooner dealers stop misleading us.
  23. Ok, I don't know of any movements available to us that will do single-button chronos. There is no reset button, folks. I believe it's a three-press system and that's unreppable with what we have.
  24. ... as long as you can find the hands in 7750-size.
