  2. Did you have to get the chain set to the right size for your hand or were you lucky? I had to get mine shortened for doing the hand spins as the chains were invariably too long. ps. Nice fluid work.
  3. Sigh, here we go again. First, pick your watch, then find a trusted dealer that stocks it. Don't settle for a watch because it's the closest one the dealer you chose has. Go for your dreams, just check the dealer you're getting it from is trustworthy. "First choose your dealer" is a misquote of "buy the dealer, not the car", and it doesn't apply here. Excuse my rant, you may now carry on. Look at the Dealer Review section and you'll find TrustyTime, PerfectClones (JosNana), TTK, Precious Time, Narikaa, Eddie Lee, Sashwatch ... etc., they're all good.
  4. $254.00 http://www.ofrei.com/page_183.html
  5. These can be built with genuine cases if you hunt around. Several people here have picked up genuine daydate cases on ebay fairly cheaply and built frankenwatches round them. They're the best DayDate reps you can get. ps. Welcome and good hunting.
  6. ... and yet you spend the time in front of your keyboard.
  7. Tourbillons aren't cheap ...
  8. Ah ...
  9. That's a lot cheaper than Bob. Still, Watchbandcenter is even better priced, and is in the EU: http://81.169.162.205/watchstrap-s70h4-Buckles.html They even have some 20mm Titanium ones ...
  10. What 2007 model upgrades? You're not visiting the scam sites, are you?
  11. Might have known Bob was the place to go. I'll have a few new ones, too.
  12. I recently got some buckle-free straps, 24mm wide, and realised I had no removable buckles. Sure, I've got some 22mm Panerai ones with screws or springs, but no 24mm. Where do you get them? I'm not looking for big GPF-shaped ones, just simple square buckles that'll fit on a 24mm Panerai strap.

  14. Does this count as a FrankenWatch? It's got a gen dial and has been Ziggified.
  15. Not in the slightest. It feels born to be on canvas.
  16. Is that a dial swap or a new movement?
  17. My Orange Monster has the steel bracelet and I didn't find it too tough to size ...
  18. Today, it's a non-rep:
  19. I picked this up on eBay recently, received it yesterday and put it on a 20mm NATO strap, as I found the rubber strap a little long and the end flapped a little. It's very rugged and makes me want to find something manly and adventurous to do. ps. That's a watermark on the crystal. I wiped it off once I'd seen the photos. If it were a proper rep review, I'd clean the watch and reshoot. As it's not, I can't be bothered.
  20. Looks like a guy's [censored] and his meat-and-two-veg. Charming.
  21. Yeah, sorry about the thread-crapping. A Panerai works fine on a 6.5" wrist as long as you wear it right. As long as the straps don't go inwards under the watch, you're fine. 90deg or more is the angle you want. Let me do a drawing ...
  22. I think it's fairly obvious I know you're joking. Hey, do you know why Offshore wears platform shoes? To stop his knuckles dragging on the floor. *Pugwash runs and hides. He's an ape of a man that can pound me into dust with those big ape-mitts of his.*
  23. That does indeed look like a decent hairy-armed way of spending a Saturday morning. I'd love to find a way to make money off a hobby.
  24. Damn, that's a year and three months I've got to wait. The PO is a great choice, as long as you realise it's a big watch. Not Panerai big, but chunky and heavy. It's got presence. If you have tried one on in a shop and liked it, go ahead and get one: you'll be happy. If you've never actually seen one in real life, I'd go to your local Omega dealer and check it out first. I can't wear one, or indeed any Omega on steel as I find the bracelets uncomfortable, but I'm definitely in the minority. As for ETA or Asian first, it depends. I'd have no qualms recommending a Noobmariner (21j Asian Rolex Sub) to a newbie, but I'd not recommend a seconds-at-six Daytona. The TAG Link is one of the better chrono movements and, if handled well, should last you. Still, no-one ever regretted paying a little extra for an ETA.
  25. Neither, I just attract the ladies. There's no evidence of ape-like missing-link ancestors in my recent family history, if that's what you mean. Piltdown Man didn't charm my great-grandmother.
