  1. Wow, I didn't even log on on the 9th! It's good to be here.
  2. If you're really nervous, look in your local phone book for an authorised dealer. It's the only way you can truly buy with 100% certainty. However, bargains involve risks. Do you want safe or cheap?
  3. Great alliterative title. I find boxes and papers are great as photographic props, but not much else. As for watch boxes, Mrs Pugwash converted a sock drawer into my watch drawer. Yay!
  4. I bet Spidey7 catches up to my post count in a matter of weeks ... Welcome aboard. Platinum supporters keep the place alive for the rest.
  5. It's all listed in the stickies: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=49

    IWC noob.

They definitely are the same. I used the 7750 wheels for my 3717 and have a set ready for next time I open my Slevin. Incidentally, the datewheels used in the GST chrono are not the same, however. The replica wheels are a much closer match, which is why people tend not to swap out GST wheels.
  7. Really? 2824s and 2892s are interchangeable now? The 2894 is really thin. Have a look at it taken apart: http://www.spitzwatch.com/WatchMaking/eta/...rtpicture2.html I think wanting an accurate copy of a 2894 will remain an elusive pipe dream unless we're willing to accept thicker-than-genuine watches.

It's a 7750. You want white on black day and date wheels.
  9. No, leave the thread as a reminder.

Ouch, that's a lot. I've not even been that active in the last year!

I'm sorry, but you asked why no-one replied. Would you prefer me to lie to you? Still, at least you have your answer. I recommend you follow b16a2's progress with his new Portuguese Chrono as he's a respected member who is reviewing exactly the watch you're talking about.

No, it was the lack of pictures and the general vagueness that shows you've not read the IWC guide fully. The Porto Chrono was available in gen both with and without AR. However, unless it's a Breitling, you'll need to get it redone if you want close-to-genuine AR.
  13. A 2892 or 3135. Oh, a 2893 and a 2894 would be nice. Imagine all the reps a 2894 would give us!
  14. Any news on the 1:1 Hermes bags, or am I in the wrong place?
  15. Show us a screen capture of your banned notice. If you can't access the site, it could be several technical reasons, not one of which means you've been banned.
  16. This one? http://in.truveo.com/Dior-Homme-Sport-Advert/id/3361963603 At a guess, I'd say one of these: http://www.lussori.com/dior-watches.html
  17. Just get gen straps and buckles: http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/166/1944.aspx http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/166/2009.aspx They are not expensive.
  18. I have only read two Nintendo Wii spams, but they treated me like I'd been spammed before. Even though I thought they were dicks, they spammed me like I was a viagra-buying gullible mark. Bottom line: I would still use one of the Nintendo supermarket affiliates: http://nintendo-at-asda.co.uk/ http://nintendo-at-tesco.co.uk/ etc.
  19. My UPO was bought just before Stephane's, end '06/beginning '07 from Precious Time in the UK. The crown is about to die (very little thread left), but it's a gen ETA and has K2222 AR.
