  1. Yeah, like all those people that buy paintings and store them in locked vaults, or those people that only drive their Ferarris on sunny weekends! How silly they are. They should do their duty and get out there and gaudily flaunt their wealth! ... and their wives should wear ALL THEIR JEWELLERY AT ONCE! Every piece left in the safe is an affront to capitalism!
  2. You can refuse to believe it as much as you like. It doesn't change a thing.
  3. There is. It's called the law. A gen Rolex owner thinks you're identical to the guy with the quartz.
  4. Anyone buying 30 watches a month is a reseller. You're competing with the guys who sell fakes at the pub.
  5. This is a little misleading. It's nowhere near 15km with one cantenna and it's not a parabolic; It's a Yagi.
  6. Ok, I needs me a BCE. That's done it.
  7. So, if you can understand they have something this utterly alien, you should be willing to accept there are other cultural differences, including judging people by the gold, watches or other jewellery they wear. The closest analogue I can think of is inner-city Bling-culture.
  8. Ok, the reactions here have been pretty odd. In the far east, presenting a face (mianzi or lian, explained here) is more important than in the west. Yes, it's a generalisation, but it's more true than not. In some circles, it's all about appearances and presentation, with the watch you wear, the car you drive, etc., and putting on a show of richness can be more important than presenting other traits. It's a long discussion, but I'm a little shocked people jumped down Dabom's throat. Maybe you're all shamed into a loss of face and have to rattle sabres to keep the illusion up.
  9. Oh, how little white lies bite back.
  10. I'd take that challenge. I presume the challenge would be to just get the key, not to get on your network. If you're running a VPN server over WiFi, you've got security. If not, you're hackable. If you came to my neighbourhood, you'd not crack mine because I practice the tiger evasion method of security.
  11. I honestly have no idea. However, people come and people go. Communities work like that, especially online communities where there are no physical ties. Euno just stopped posting one day, but he came back eventually. Gran hasn't been seen since 2007, around the same time as Thor. JTB hasn't been seen since March. One day, I'll stop posting or By-Tor, V or FXR will not be seen for a while, and we'll reminisce for a while and move on.
  12. If you're lucky it might take a skilled attacker up to 10 minutes. http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/24251/100/
  13. Ha! WiFi itself isn't secure. The only way to have truly secure is a VPN connection to the wired LAN. WEP can be broken in minutes. WPA takes a little longer.
  14. I think it sounds like a great poem. WiFi Wi-Fi piggyback a big city ? I don't know what you're asking, but if you're asking to hack wi-fi, be specific.
  15. You know I agree with you on that one. Nothing bugs me more than "First choose your dealer".
  16. Yeah, I paid more than that for a second-hand Fortis with mineral crystal (and admittedly Tritium) and the same movement. It's excellent value, on par with Stowa, if not even better value.
  17. Oh, and people don't like being overly honest about cartel dealers because they fear they may lose their rep supply. Dealers have blacklists and many noobs that get bad treatment would simply disappear thinking the whole rep game an elaborate scam.
  18. You're mistaking members for moderators. Members go around singing praises of Josh/Andrew and informing noobs that the iOffer route is a minefield. Moderators, the forum officials, don't.
  19. Well, I no longer have a black 16610 Sub. I may well have to sell my 1680 for this. It'd get more wrist time.
