Good one. I like the look on the face of Mr. Swift: "What the heck are you fiddling around with that camera!? Haven't you seen a car before, you a$$clown?" 77 years - it´s going to be the same with me and my slevin on rubber strap...
  2. Poor defensless Leopard cubs... Oohhh... I could imagine that ad in the middle of London, Paris, Berlin etc. in large scale. "a defensless Leopard cub is murdered"
  3. Hublot kills one Leopard for every watch to get the neccessary parts. If there was a rep, the factory would kill one cat for every rep. Please protect animals. Do not rep this watch.
  4. My guess would be that there is one RWG watch in the package. Those timepieces are history by now...
  5. Congratulations to the watch and thanks for the pix! It seems there is no lume on the bezel. That gen 7750 is surely great, it´d be nice to have a foto of the movement too. I think the 42mm aquatimer looks better sizewise but it´s surely a question of taste.
  6. It´s a nice pic of the new yellow Aquatimer but I still prefer the old, more classic looking Aquatimer models. Having said that I do remember that the old yellow Aquatimer should be Titanium - which it is not. The Slevin is still a superrep though imo. Somehow the new Aquatimer reps - even the galapagos - did not get much attention. But if you go for the rep yellow aquatimer, good luck with the marriage!
  7. This is a nice rep, very good. Thank you for the review! I think if it´s on the wrist, there is no way to call someone out. However if you hold this watch in your hand, it will be obvious that it´s a rep: The rep movement is very different to the gen - nice rotor work though.
  8. Great, thanks for the post! I´m not sure I do understand how it works though... Anyhow good to see how it´s done. Thinking about a "minute repeater" mod? Well, that might be the next step...
  9. I like the clear design but my favourite is still the good old 41mm black/red Carrera Racing after a DW change and AR - preferably on gen rubber strap...
  10. [censored] happens all the time but do not forget all the good times spent on rwg and learning stuff about watches that nobody can take from you. It's a stupid thing to have a bad transaction and loose a watch - it hurts in a way but there are surely worst things in life. Unfortunatelly you've sent the watch unregistered, so there is no way to follow its path. If Domi got it, you'll have the watch again. As it was sent unregistered, there is a possibility that it got lost on the way. In this case you just have to get over it. Some might loose a watch because of the customs service, some because of shipping. It's a bad thing but the best you can do is learn from it: do not ship unregistered (and do not risk shipping to countries with strict customs service).
  11. @aanival It's hard to tell which one is gen... As the SS version is rep, I'd guess that one on the black strap is gen. Very nice watches anyhow and it's a great pic to see how good reps actually are.
  12. Well, I'm not a Rolex fan at all but I do remember the "old days" 6-7 years ago when I was looking at some Rolex reps: This was the first time when I saw a rehaut with rolexrolexrolex engravings and it was on a rep! I cannot remember which modell it was but I can recall that the gen did not have engravings and the rep did - I found it awful but it seems that rolex-designers like the idea...
  13. Finally I found the post I was looking for. Andreww posted already what is needed for the best Navi tricompax: "- Gen tricompax dial - Rep Navitimer Serie Speciale case (or the two-tone 6-9-12 case) - Rep Tricompax caseback - Gen ETA 7753 movement" Such a projekt seems to be a little pricey... I think I´d prefer the "second best" solution: - v1 Navi rep with low beat movement - 4.5 eta datewheel change - AR This Navi rep looks fine for me!
  14. You have Sinn-ed and now confessed on rwg. Well, we are all merciful here, your Sinn is forgiven. Very nice watch! Congratulations to your Sinn!
  15. Just in order to "sum up": For the best possible Navitimer rep take an old 6-9-12 Navitimer case and an eta 7753 - in order to avoid a sunken datewheel -, an eta 4.5 datewheel, and a v1 Navi dial and hands. Is it correct? Does someone maybe completed such a rep?
  16. Yes, this picture. If you look at the foto before that with no zoom, the watch - color of the metal - seems to be strange. To be honest the whole story seems to be strange for me, but maybe I have been just looking at reps too often lately...
  17. If you search for "iwc-aquatimer-chronograph-cousteau-divers-pictures-5.jpg" in google, there will be a lume pic. On the foto there is no lume on subdial hands.
  18. Very nice watch, congratulations! If I´m not mistaken it´s the newer version. The movement looks good too...
  19. I might be wrong, but the fotos after the sentence "The young guy was happy and enjoyed scuba-diving with his freshly aquired watch….", i.e. the 7th, 8th and 9th picture, seem to be manipulated. Just look at the watch on the 8th pic...
  20. Agreed. The Santos is a great looking watch, even if it is a Cartier - which brand I do not like too much for its watches (just like Montblanc.) The best thing about Cartier is: Girls know the brand and like it. It´s kind of a chick-magnet sometimes...
  21. Thanks for all the info in this thread! The Santos has always been a rep apart from the "mainstream" but some people love its classic style - just like me. For me it is the one and only "bling-bling" watch I´d wear. I had the twotone version with brown strap and gen ETA 2824, which I sold a while ago. I still miss that watch sometimes - the only rep I sold and miss it. Inspite of the flaws it´s a pretty good rep. Without a side-by-side comparison it´s hard to tell whether it´s a gen or not. Is there somewhere a rep-gen comparison-foto regarding the dial color? I guess the difference is not that much though...
  22. Very nice, congratulations! I was thinking about buying that great pam box set too, but I decided not to do it, because it would be too big for my wrist.
  23. Very nice collection... It was surely not an easy job to get all those parts for these fine watches. I was just wondering how a gen eta 7753 fits a breitling case!? There was a post that a movement swap is not possible but maybe I do not remember correctly... Fantastic watch anyway...
