  2. That sounds to me like a knackerd escarpment, as soon as the hacking leaver disengages the whole 2 days power reserve is released, I would sujest a new movement or a trip to ziggy
  3. I dug this old thing out for some air
  4. ~I do remember some onbe using a hockey puck! But it was not me
  5. It would need pressing on to the center, you may be able to do it you self by taking the center off and use a flat surface like a bit of glass, lay it top side down, put the rotor over it and use a small socket as a press that is just a touch bigger then the hole in the rotor and gently tap it on then see how secure it is. or get another ETA rotor and center?
  6. It would still be wrong due to the rep case rehaute
  7. That is a 44mm she has right now but if i can get a 40mm it would be better
  8. Wait till she learns to lume
  9. For those of you that noticed my daughters hello post or the requests for parts i have a few photos of the first practical day, we were supposed to be doing a case swap but fond that the case we wanted to used would not alow the stem to line up with a sandwich dial, so we are looking for a sausage dial to suit a hand wind pam TI case if any one has one , or a trade on the TI case we have, bear in mind you could be helping to train a futor EU modder! Any way today she removed the movement from one case fitted it another after lubing all the seals only to find it would not fit so had to reassemble in the original, after a little lesson on the parts of the movement. Enjoy, becase i certainly am
  10. Bob you and I should sit down some time and share some gentleman jack and some food some time. If you ever Pop over to gemany I am and always will "be prepared"
  11. Tastes change, at one pont it was the INGY and i went and spent my life savings on the gen, (good job too as the bank crashed just after) but the 3717 is close, but i have made a few watches my self and even done a lot of movement work, so i would ever sell that one, To do it i had to learn servicing, cleaning, perlage, graining in straight lines, polishing, angulering ( crap spelling) assembly and gold plating. Would you give up your learning peice? That movement started out as this

  15. Just ordered a lower dome to see how that looks, need to loose 0.7mm in height any way
  16. The problem is that it is an armored type with a tension ring and unless you remove the ring you will have a double rehaut, it may not be a problem on yours but on the cases that has the seagul chrono that would be a massive dual coloured rehaut
  17. I have a gen crystal (1970s) in my hands and i just mesured it at 34.01mm, Now the big problem we have is the gen plexy is an armored type with a tension ring fitted inside coloured mat grey same as the dial, we have a silver deap flat rehaut so our dials sit deaper, i had the 70s gen in today but did not get time to do any comparison shots, a shallower dome by 0.7mm will make the overall hight perfect but the dial will still be too deep, painting the rehaut would take away the shine but not the depth, I have just ordered a larger (so i can get rid of the saphire retaining ring) shallower (to get the overall height right) plexy to see if that helps the over all effects but i am sceptical What ever we do we will still have the depth problem and how ever hard we work on the crystals it will not change the subdials.
  18. Steinheart are going to be pissed!
  19. Just a thought but if this is an explorer 1 with out a date are you sure you are not trying to set the time in the date set position as the 2824 has a 3 position crown 1 winding 2 date set 3 time set failing that it will be a problem with the motion works, maybe a missing intermediate gear
