  1. I belive that the chrono modual from the the 2894-2 will fit the 2824 and will also fit the seagull, so as we already have the seagull then the modual would be a perfect solution for lots of watches. Hang on i may be talking out of my axxe, just found some conficting evidence that the modual will not fit a 2824
  2. looking forward to seeing the results of this, looks good so far
  3. What is the difference between the 2892 (Seagull st218) and the 2894 apart from the chrono modual, my point is if they can make the modual then it can fit to 2824s also and give us lots of watches
  4. Some thing that small you may get away with taking the back off and losening the movement tabs and see it it will line up better, have a look at the stems alignment to the tube that will tell you something.
  5. What did you pay for the buclke TJ was it a Tang or deployant, asking as that strap the OP shows with deployant was
  6. it is russian, this a a 40 yr old one but the newer ones look similar, the first Fiddy reps came with these and you can still get some vintage pam reps from DSN with them but the movement on its own can be ripped from any cheep russian pocket watch have a look on the bay search molnija screwed balance on this one here This one from DSN had one in it, not sure if it was a screwed balance though, as the photo are gone. The newer versions had 19 j and the older ones were 17j.
  7. Done it, ask Reg or Homer or any of the members that have them
  8. I have the gen of that fitted to my railmaster, i nicked ot off the wifes AT, I do have a rep lizard skin strap though very old photo of the day i got it, i think i have only worn it once, make me a small offer if you want it.
  9. Sorry to be late to the party but i can give it a try next week if you want
  10. Not sure on thew pricing he said he could not give a quote before he had the watch and it took a while to get to him as i posted it from kuwait. So when he gets back he should let me know, he said "it would not be hundreds of pounds" i take that to be less then
  11. Welcome. I see you have found lots to read. I visit a few gen sites and this place is just the best of all horological sites.
  12. I hope so he has my blackbird in for a relume at the moment, dont expect an answere in the next few days as he told me he would be away for a few days.
  13. I think with modern production methods these are realy just for show unless there is no other adjustment but they do look better, i have one in my vintage pam thingy from molnja. you can just make out the screws on this one. I think i paid $15 for this in a watch and it runs perfectly
  14. Get in touch with this guy http://www.michaelallenwatchmaker.co.uk/

  17. Welcome, the ladies watches question has come up a number of times, use the search function and you will find a few posts.
  18. yep i think you need to find a rep friendly watch smith
  19. One this subject does any one know of a power reserve modual that would fit a unitas?
  20. I am assuming that you mean the Balance spring and not the main spring, the main spring would not be visible as the main spring is the one that powers you watch, the balance spring make the balence swing back and forth alowing the power of the main spring to move hands via the going train. If you have bent it you have probelbly damaged something. A photo would be good
  21. The post about the new daytona started to get into a discussion about what movements should be cloned ect so i thought i would open a new thread and discuss it here. I personaly think that the soprod moduals should and would be a better thing to clone than the rolly movements that can only be found in rollys. If we had the moduals for chrono, power reserves and GMTs it would open the door for a huge number of movement configurations that would take the 2892/seagull st 18. also a modual for a PR on a unitas copy would not go amiss either.
  22. One weeks to go!!!! Looking forward to seeing who ever turns up, If there are any german members going i am driving and have 2 spare seats
