  1. becase it would only be able to be used in rolexes where as the 7750 can be used in sooooo many watches
  2. ziggy would you agree with the findings of his diagnosis that they are in fact a decent movement. Personaly i like the look of them and would not mind using them when sourced officialy, i do agree with the statment that the second choice ones proberably end up in reps. Do you have any experience with offical ones?
  3. We have some similar goals then! I want to stop smoking all together only had 4 so far today
  4. I take it you did not tell them you collect reps though
  5. Lets not forget where we were a year ago, any sub rep was miles off compared to what we can get today where we are only just a touch off perfect.
  6. Hi Guys i found this while surfing round and thought you would all find it interesting hxxp://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=216945 I dont know how much info some of the posters have but there are a couple of intersting and comon sence posts in there particualy post 26 point 2. One thing it does do having read a couple of these is prove to me the quality of what the chinese can produce, the problem that we have is in the rep market the QC at all levels is bad as we know, End QC performed by some of out people now eliminates a lot of hassles and we know that we will never get good QC throught out the whole of production. I would more than happily use officialy sourced versions of these movements.
  7. I have a couple if you are prepared to reposition the dial feet, pm me if you are interested Proper super lume
  8. Come on Bubu get a photo in here
  9. it may be as simple as the date change mech adding too much drag on the movement as it changes i am not sure what is required to oil this part on this type of movement, but if i rememeber the quick change on this movement has 2 flat disks one with a pin and one with a cut out and when the pin reaches the end of the cut out the date changes. So if you have to much drag between the disks then it would be hard for it ti change Of couse this is all a big guess but you never know
  10. Looking good there doc. Not sure what i will be wearing NYE proberbly this but maybe i will change the watch just for a break, this has been on for the past 10 weeks now! (in different designs, firsts sand blasted all over then with a polished bezel, then a brushed case then i changed the dial, finaly happy with it as a daily watch) I gave one similar to my grandfather for Christmas, he was so happy that he can tell the time again and actualy see the numbers. I think the one he was wearing was 34mm gold plate hand wind Rotary or something like that last time i saw him (we live in different countrys) he was so happy my brother had left about 10 min before he got on the phone and called him back to see it.
  11. We can live in hope guys
  12. I think they make a great beater, swim, surf watch and looks the part too, it will look just as good with a few live in marks!
  13. Just arrived today Thanks to Ken, kruzer and TJ for the design, also the rest of the Admin team! A complete guess on the size on my part and it fitts perfectly.
  14. I got this one for my mum from Josh about 2 years ago And this for a friends wife a bit befor that Both are still working fine and are in daily service
  15. That looks ausome Lani, very loud but love the red inside to the strap
  16. I agree, just by filing down the cg feet a fraction can make all the difference
  17. I had one of the first versions of these to come out and it was as noisy as hell with the 2183 echoing round in the big case, what is running this one? The bezel truned very easily also i put in a thicker o ring to make it a bit tighter also i think it lacled the ratchet, it that what you mean whan you say no gears? It certanly looks good!
