Verry possible, might be a problem getting it curved, alot of engraving machines are not very good at doing curved things as far as i know, but bear in mind the last one i worked on was quite old!
I think they are two very different watches with their own heritage, and would be a hard decision to make for me, An although i love the BP i think i would go for the 233.
Very few of the panerai we find now days have a 100% unitas in them, at the least the panerai style bridges will be asian made, From what i have found the asian 100% movement will perfom your needs. The Swiss/asian with the panerai bridges MAY last longer, PT will sort you out with a nice watch. Have a search about there was a thread about asian, swiss, Chiss and Swinese unitas a while back.
I had a similar problem the other day on my speedy, when i reset it would come loose, i fastrend it on with a tiny drop of loctite thread lock, this crystalises and atches the hand nicely and is also removeable as it is not technicaly a glue, i used some thing like this one, less than a pin [censored] worth.
BTW this is just what i used and the experts may say other wise. you never know i may have [censored]ed mine up for the future
