Just a short note, although you can wind a 2824 it is advisable to do it slowly and carefully, better is to just rock it in your hand to move the winding rotor and then wear it, you will see whan it starts to tick. if you do a bill of diging you will find many threads on this and info from ziggy as to exactly why.

Solid gold parts had been duscussed a couple of years ago, might have been here might have been on TRC, in the end Precious time (i think) had one of his links melted down and photographed the whole process to prove the link was solid gold (14kt i think) Im sure that some of the more senior members would remember the whole thing, but it did prove that solid gold did exist in reps and PT put his product on test.
Yes the holes are for finer adjustment, just move thew spring pin that holds the folding part of the bracelet one hole futher in and it will be tighter.
