Not one to go against the experts maybe i have been lllucky but i have the seagull movement in my AT and it has worked perfectly since the day i got it, so please dont tar all with the same brush!

I think personal insults are going a bit too far, what doyou know about me, however this is about watches not me, i think that a lot of people here have bought copys of ETA knowing ly and had them work well.

I wrote ETA not Swiss ETA, and i am refering to text like this Asia Copy Eta 2824-2 Automatic movement, Steel Movement Holder, Antimagnetic cover, 28800bph I doupt that not one part of this movement bears any resembelance to a 2824 wether made in china or on the moon and have a look here so is that an ETA 2892????????

You dont seem to get it do you what we are asking the dealers to do is just tell US the truth, if it is mineral glass then call it that, if it is Saphire then we all know it is synthetic because that is what it is, and if it is a chiss/swinesa ETA then it is an ETA on the other hand if it is an asian movement running at 28800 then we will be happy if it is advertised as that. If ford advertised a V8 but you got a V6 you would be Pi**ed wouldent you, unless when you read between the lines you half expect to get a V6 when it is advertised as a V8?

I fully agree with Pugwash, I started the thread about the ETA copy movement here to try to highlight the way that the dealers are labeling things with the words like ETA and so on. I am sure everyone would be far happyer with the truth, IE seagul ST18, not ETA 2892! Please everyone put your suport behind this one! Dealers please take note! People wont stop buying you products just because you are telling it like it is, infact they will buy more as they will be sure of what they are getting. If they bought a watch that was advertised with Sinthetic Saphire and it scratched just like mineral glass, they will be less likly to belive what you list in the future!

It was just the lug holes that made me think, proberbly becayse i am used to seeing huge close ups here!

I am not an expert on any thing never mind vintage rollies but do the lug holes on this 5513 look to small? 5513 on the bay

Not yet and i doubt that there will be as the movement is "in house" from panerai, with 3 main spring barrels to give it 8 days PR, and a linea PR indicator, the face may get copied but never the functionality.

As long as you are happy with it that is all that matters, i have read that some people regrind the powder in a petstel and mortar. What did you use as i binder?
