  1. yes and no - you are correct that there are copyright violations but, with reps your also dealing with counterfeit merch. If in the US, and the items are coming USPS or EMS then, your using the US postal system to traffic in counterfeit merchandise Federal offense - if you remember the movie the firm - it wasn't the fact that they were doing legal work for the mob - it was the mail fraud that got them in trouble for using the USPS. every dealer we ever had here that was US based, was shut down inside a year either by Criminal investigation and or rolex's lawyers ect ect i'm not sure what the penalties are, but i'm sure its huge, because penalties on these small crimes are - and one can not forget the patriot act - i'm sure by typing this i'm violating it in some way. some countries like Italy have cracked down Alot in recent years, to the point of detaining people going through customs and putting small time street vendors in jail. there are a few countries that dealers don't like to drop ship to because of these types of issues. alot of people claim its not illegal to Own a rep, but to buy or sell is - in the US anyway. they maybe right in the criminal vs. civil context, of course your never free of civil liability to the watch companies. and to make your point, the RIAA sues like 300 people every six months just to keep the news story going and people scared of downloading stuff - the recent high court cases on this have NOT been good for DL'ers - i recommend that you pay the RIAA the 2500 they want and sign the note saying i promise never to DL again. also, if your watch gets seized by US customs, and they call - tell them you have no idea what they are talking about someone on the forum about once a year, maybe once a year and a half gets a threatening letter - search it, i'm sure you can find scans of the letter. So far, other than dealers - no one has had any serious problems. I think the worst of the dealers is klink - dont know the actual story but i do know he was a dealer a while ago and got into real trouble. but he is a jackass anyway. For along time we have held our head high stopping Ebay auctions and protecting some from other rep scammers - however, in the age of super reps - i have to believe plenty of folks use these forums to sell reps as gens - out in the real world. THe super reps are just to good and its so easy to make a killing - like on planet oceans or steelfish - gen price is reasonable, rep price is peanuts and frankly you have to open teh back of the movement or be a crazy hobbiest to know the difference. every sale is an easy 1k and if i'm the crook, i'd tell the guy- look, this is a stolen watch, so don't take it to the authorized dealer cause the will have the serial number. holy crap that is a great scam i just outlined - well guess we know what i'll be doing if my business fails
  2. likley burned at the stake - actually its VERY illegal - and you could end up in jail for many many years - there are tons of laws (especially in the US) that can get you. luckily its not worth the several thousand dollars of the legal systems time and money to prosecute you for a 300$ watch
  3. i have to keep double taking cause i think i'm about to scroll past one of my own posts. but whats up with the squeeze, it looks like your one of those people who doesn't know how to operate their new 16;9 TV - and for something nice - everyone knows 2 Tones are better than 1!
  4. do you mean perfectlytrustywatchclone? they are partners in as much as anyone in their industry can be before they launched their empire - Josh was a small dealer in high end pieces with a small photobucket acct. andrew sold primarily 100 asian reps Eddie Lee and River were the big dealers - paulmart was always big and cheap and unreliable. josh's customer service was amazing king didn't speak english the day Perfect Clones was launched the rep forum world changed forever. josh has maintained his customer service BUT has also used his position to price fix and jack up prices on all of us hence the "Cartel" threads king still can't speak english history lesson over
  5. i wear mine all the time - probably once a week - since i have a rotation of 10 thats pretty often. works PERFECT - i continue to say that no collection is complete without a homer tourby i just wish he would pay me to say it

  11. cool - i thought the screw/bolts went all the way through the watch. - I'm not going to take it apart, but i don't want my watchmaker guessing the rubber is way to easy to screw up.
  12. ok, i am thinking i want to send this watch for chieftang AR> i'm nervous about how this thing comes apart and the potential to scratch it up - do you have to use a screw driver on both sides of the bolts? or is one locked in place is it easy? or tuff? anybody else sending their Seconds @12 for AR?
  13. "not experienced enough" is a talking point - no talkingpoints allowed Anyway - End it here, get back to the photos - no one can name them all?
  14. that has the same mov't as homer's tourby, its a millionsmart watch (same company that makes homers) - your paying twice the price, and the dude is pocketing it all. it may not even be 42. just go with the homer tourby - you will NOT regret it. i'm with you, i don't like things under 42. but this has such a thick case because of the mov't it wears bigger. Homer's tourby is the shiznit also, better to have no brand than some Made up brand, tell people you had it custom designed for you, hence the no brand
  15. tee jay is yet another powermaxer padding his post stats in this thread
  16. no orlando. it was related to the last post about arty
  17. there will be no digressing this thread into bla bla political banter. only high minded analysis.
  18. Arty is keeping my town warm for my occasional returns
  19. no offense should be taken, i think that is pretty sound analysis. Problem is mccain is in a real pickle - there are very few that can stand on the same stage as biden - but like you said, he has base problems. The best thing mccain could do would be to find a woman to put on the ballot - takes novelty away from obama's nomination - it will be tuffer for a bulldog like biden to snip at a woman, (makes him look bad) but, what i'm hearing from top mccain insiders is that there aren't any woman that fit the bill - that they are comfortable with anyway. I think its romney - mccain is going to have to make an economy play - and unless he taps some CEO who is not in politics (bad way to get your feet wet) its tuff. - but, in my opinion, it will be almost impossible for mccain to win, based upon a whole host of factors that are out of his control. - economy, bush, the war, obama's excitement, historical trends ect ect
  20. you gotta love charo - she was performing on a cruise i was on - her son ended up playing poker at my table for awhile - we hung out for awhile, cool kid

  22. Its a marketing thing - you walk into your lawyers office and he has photos with the president and vice president and last president, and half a dozen governors ands us senators you figure - wow, this guy gets around. I don't have these up in my house. - and not to put down the minister of defense, but on all but 2 or 3 of my photos those people have a 70% photo id recognition with the average USizen - don't think 25% of USers could name the secretary of defense. so, it just depends on what the context is. - For me, i work in politics, new clients think i'm the shiznit when they see i "know" all these people. oh, crap i should have thrown up my charlie crist photo, that would have been a tuff one its all marketing. - but, realistically, i don't go crazy trying to get photos anymore - and also, none of these were like, me waiting 2 hours to grab a photo - they were all at fundraisers or special events to which i was a guest or host.
  23. i got alot more - but, i tried to pic a nice representation I didn't even put Barack, Michelle Obama or Bill Richardson - i was pretty stacked up this year with Democratic Presidential hopefulls.
