  1. Until you achieve Rep Zen Enjoy the watches for what they are, not what they represent. what does that mean? Enjoy the watch for what it is, not because it has a brand name or because its close or far from another watch that is considered "real"
  2. ok, here is the update - had the preliminary meeting - he wants to give it a try. he will be getting me a price list within a week. I'm in communications with the board to figure out how to set up with them. i will have to setup an infrastructure for me to receive and dispatch packaging and not get [censored] confused. We are going to take baby steps here folks - Here are the proposed initial services Mov't servicing / Repair 7750 eta/clones (no strange 7750 layouts) Repair will be done on a estimate basis with a minimum charge +shipping Crystal Removal (to send to chief) Crystal Replacement Dial replacement Hand Replacement mov't replacement (if all parts are provided - such as correct hand sizes) RELUME!!! - only on simple dials and hands- i.e. no iwc cousteau panerais, rolex, breitlings should be ok. Right now he has a lume, but its not SuperLuminova - i need someone to point me to the exact one we use so he can order it. unfortunately, this wont be a cheap service, but i will do my best to price it reasonably. The more expensive items, i.e. servicing will be much more reasonable than the cheaper items - i.e. if your sending in a watch just to change some hands - by the time y ou ship it, we ship it back, watchmaker works on it - anyway - we'll do our best. i will setup an email address in order to service this new setup.
  3. Dude ! have you read the new forum rules? posts about breitlings dont' count anymore!!!! jk Congrats - i was excited about 2k, until i realized that on RWG2, they bumped up powermax to 2500

  13. yeah well, you have gotten 5 suggestions from people who have been around - and you have again restated your view - your view is wrong. Sometimes the movements don't work smoothly out of the gate - the chrono pushers are tuff - sometimes you get a dud - sometimes you don't. protocol is to contact the dealer - most likely the dealer will give you a few tips - after the tips have not helped he will have a procedure or he wont to deal with the issue. if your stuck with a dud watch and the dealer wont do anything, that is the point you come to the board and start talking about "dealer" issues - until then josh or others or whatever talk is all pre-mature. you can ask of course about tips on how to use the watch - but, drop the dealer speculation until you have actually communicated with that person. patience kimosabe - patience your not shopping at Saks Fifth Ave - things take time
  14. keep em coming - today was his day off, so i didn't get to see him, will see him tommorow, THurs
  15. thats AWEFUL - how did he die? heart attack? wow - you know i'm 34 - i'm getting to that age where mysteriously people die of random heart attacks also, been looking at new advances in projecting life expectancy - it is very possible that within the next 40-50 years, we will be able to live, for several hundred years. - Except for things like this - there have been advances in working with genes that turn off the aging of individual cells. - very interesting stuff. personally i dont' want to live for 200 yrs - at least if they can't fix all the other genetic issues i got going on. we are on the cusp of the next step in evolution - genetic manipulation. and the merging of the organic and the mechanic tis interesting.
  16. its not as cool on the wrist as it is in the magazine- mine would have been the freak - but i'd rather have a 3d tourby

  21. it won't be easy - but read read read read - it will be worth it
  22. didn't someone else post this question - worded differently today? for a watch - its easy
  23. back before we scared him off we had The Zigmeister just fyi - i have taken to him my stuff to swap movements - he has ordered me a gen dial and installed it, popped out a bunch of crystals - installed 3 skeleton mov'ts into my case- with hands obviously. i did take him a seconds at 6 that i asked him to glue the 6 seconds - he did that nicely. i have seen him service movements - all the pieces in the little dish. he has glued on lume markers on noobmariner that fell off. polished and brushed stuff up for me. i'm not sure of the procedure for datewheel swaps - so we'll have to give that a try and see how it goes. this guy isn't a hobbyist like The Zigmeister or others - this is his business - where, The Zigmeister gets joy out of solving problems and working on watches - this guy has a business to run - so likely the stuff that takes alot of trial and error or is more creative, we either won't do or at least do right away - The Zigmeister is VERY good at making square pegs go into round holes - so, i don't think my guy is the answer to that. thanks - keep the suggestions coming, i'm getting a good idea of what i need to talk to him about.
