  1. well thats a hard core franken - remember there is no limit - to selling, this would just take admin scrutiny before it was available for sale. and damn stephane why not just get the clark crystals
  2. mines good - silix, says he is not drop shipping them and inspects them before they go out - true? not sure - but with a decent failure rate on a new movement, its definatly good business practice rather than ad 40$ into the cost of the watch in sent a nd return shipping
  3. very true - members have never held back on jumping on someone who has flakey sales when i came back from one of my hiatus' some guy named pugwash who joined after i was gone was jumping all over me trying to sell a pam i think and i was a middle aged (not really elder) member and i remember when some relatively unknown member whos name rhymed with Mavor Mave gave me crap about some pens and - well - i guess we know which one of those members is still respected around here right - ME you forgot i was in the mix for that award right
  4. lots of cool stuff - dials - wonder if the seconds at 12 fits a gen dial
  5. if we had a wiki, we could put it . . . oh wait, we do have a wiki - pitty i have never checked it out i also didn't mention the sale of paulmart there have been theories over the years taht "paul" isn't the old paul and that his business may have been sold- and in fact the person bought the name, identity site ect ect ect. we know king hasn't sold her empire because, - well, she still really sucks at engrish !!! someone could talk more on the TRC dealers there all new to me Back then there was no davidson either - man he would have mad a KILLING back then - he took on the pam empire just at the end of the pam buying craze -
  6. Well there is obviously a difference between somone who sells watches for a living- and member to member sales Therefore you don't have to monitor dealer sales. Re: Resale at 1k - i think 1k is [censored] number for a rep - serviced or not - unless it has like a el primero in it or something. or is solid gold i think that most people understood what i ment and its a good rule at 1k and at 1.5 k but the reality is, no rep should be sold second hand at 1k if someone wants to pay high prices instead of checking out other dealers or silix or whatever, thats up to them - but, they shouldn't get to pawn bad ideas off on others. its simliar to the "having to post the going dealer rate" or posting the original sale price concepts - but 4-500$ vs. 1k is a big deal. anyway - its still a good rule - but i think second hand rep watches going at 1k is suspect Prima Facie (for you non-lawyers - means on its face in latin) still a good rule - but IMHO would be a better rule at 1k
  7. Its a great watch Just Buy it and enjoy it - silix sells for $450 ENJOY IT! i do
  8. no, the poljot one is the SUPER SUPER rare pam 47 in a 44 mm case (supposed to be 40mm) the more common rep had the 42mm case, which is what i used for my project those had silver hands - these hands are black. and its in the bigger regular radiomar case.
  9. i like to heavily beat my asians
  10. good idea i'd drop the limit to 1k though
  11. anyone heard about a rep big day date? release? i mean 90% of reps sold are rolexs - so it must be on the to do list
  12. i find that the patek's that are the nicest - other than the MBW ones are the really thing ones that hard handwind with seconds at 6 i also just picked up on a clearance sale the other day a really nice rose gold piece with a design as similiar above also, give a good look to the dial font - in the asian reps you tend to get blurry or not strait printing
  13. well, i have always loved this design - it was one of my first project watches. this one though is 45 mm as opposed to 42 - and its an automatic 7750. i'm really interested to see if someone gets this how the photos and reviews are in person.
  14. i was looking for my picture of me in that jacket with the purple hat - but this one showed off the watch so nicely, by the way thats my rep j12 chrono
  15. i will be downtown - financial district looks like i'll be there next week - i'll know tommorow. i'm commuting, i'll be there a few days a week - but, my boss was in the hospital for a few days so things got delayed - i'm talking with him tommorow Stephane - your in NY?
  16. i think that the cousteau issue is that it took forever to come out
  17. I don't give a crap about the gen and AR i want it to rock the hizous. and i kind of figured the gen was rubber coated as well, it just makes sense.
  18. HOLY THREAD FROM THE DEAD BATMAN!!
  19. i got my rubber clad from Silix, for $450, i LOVE this watch BIG TIME i'd like to chieftang it, but i'm so worried about screwing up the rubber bezel when taking off the crystal
  20. there are a SLEW of pams one of the IT reps that has stayed the longest might be the steelfish
  21. First board member from isreal that i know of. welcome we'll have to come up with a better way for you to get reps get like a Post office box in a neighboring country?
  22. i was in malaga 2 yrs ago on a cruise - lovely place to visit welcome to the board
  23. yeah, that has confused me a few times in posts I'm really not sure in the long long ago galaxy far far away when and where he first came on board. I know that after my last hiatus he was a dealer - he has never, as far as i know, had a breakdown and been banned - unlike angus who was banned for awhile until he was able to get money back to customers that apparently were screwed out of something. Also as it relates to silix - jay and angel have also been around since forever - They are an interesting story - they carry, alot of times the low end of the high end reps. - They are usualy pretty straight forward - although in my dealings wtih them, they always seem to get at least 1 watch in the wrong color on my order. they were never huge posters and they dont' update their website regularly- and in fact their website used to take FOR FREAKING EVER to load - its much better now.
