  1. i hope they do a sinn - plenty of other watches that aren't that expensive that they rep the Steelfish is like 1200?
  2. I came for the watches, i stayed for the nachos
  3. thanks for the kind words all - everyone has down times - i'll find a way out of the hole
  4. Ahh, too much pale white legs - GET A TAN - and for god sakes man, cover up there are children present
  5. sorry to hear about your troubles - look on the bright side, its only money in the last 48 hrs, my aunt had a stroke, my son has 102 fever, my wife is about ready to tell me to take a hike, the city employees working outside my house cut the line for my internet access. the hard drive that i keep all my work and projects on for the last 10 years mysteriously died and they want 3300$ to retrieve the data. My wife's car's breaks went out 1,000 miles past the warrenty, - $1200. Something in t he concoction of pills i take for back pain has caused my bloodpressure to go to 150/100 unless i lay down flat. So now were trying to figure what it is, i'm on less pills, which means more pain, and still high BP - plus i get dizzy when i stand up. AND - if i don't pick up a new client soon, i'm going to have to file for bankruptcy. or sell my collection remember - its just $$ and just a watch - try not to let it control your day- i know how you feel though, it took me a long time to get over the obsession of tracking and waiting for the post office to show up.
  6. oh, that black leather strap is cool - what are their prices like
  7. are you still just teasing us or are you going to do some watches
  8. Or get a black object or black covered object and hold it in your hand and move it to stop the reflections on the crystal - there is a rigid felt that i use, found at a craft store works REALLY well - cause its stiff enough to hold its shape and its light and flexable as well.
  9. cool - definetly looks better in your pics than in the website photos. I'm still not sold on it - it looked good in the magazine, but when i saw the gen, i was just - eh this looks like a very well done watch though - Enjoy
  10. from what i have heard, its kind of the business cultural norm in china - low quality control - High % defective rate - resistance to refunds and usually wants to just discount you on the next purchase. if your up to his business practices though - if your cool with it, he is a great dealer. If you want someone who has a blackberry and answers your questions 24 hrs a day - and you don't mind paying a premium - then use josh. me personally, i use precious time - answers emails very often - competitive pricing, speaks good English - he is slightly slower on actually getting the watches in the mail as josh is - no, order on Sunday receive on Friday sort of thing, but it gets there, usually inside of 2 weeks. So with PT i'm getting the watch where with Silix, i'm still trying to figure out the price and the color
  11. where's the beef - i mean pics
  12. every women in my family has this in white or black some in both. that "old" rep you had looks like the least expensive model - similiar to what you can get on canal st. The new one looks very simliar to the middle of the road model that i always got for all my peeps - average around 225/ watch
  13. yeah, he's a good guy - answers emails only once a day though - so it takes a week to have a discussion about a watch if you have multiple questions - he owes me a deal cause he sent me the wrong watches one time - totally screwed up my order - but i never was able to cash in on that "future" discount
  14. i want to get this model some day, and this is the color scheme i have decided i'd like the best stick with this one!!
  15. HOLY SUPER CRAP I LOVE the GREY DIAL on the HKtan strap and the brown breitling i would have never gotten this in grey until i saw your photos. how much was the hktan strap by the way
  16. amazing - good job all without a doubt we have a special community here
  17. i gotta say, since i got access to a real watchsmith locally who is also very inexpensive - i use him ALOT lume falls out - movement issues, popping off crystals - quick polishing of bracelets warranty is tuff - i guess it depends on if the profit is coming from dealer margins or factory prices driving up. it is frankly too expensive to send watches back to china - i almost always work out a deal where i can sell the watch - if its the wrong model or has an issue - for whatever its new and reduced value is and have a new one sent. the likleyhood of small problems - lume marker falling off, bezel insert is loose ect ect is pretty high - i'd say 30% its not likely they would warranty that - but i think a mov't should be backed for at least 6 months most mov't problems can be fixed - it really only gets tuff in the wierd mov'ts with transfer gears
  18. jetmid? WOW if i had the coinage to really collect Gens i think i'd get more pieces like this instead of just a bunch of boring same ole same ole pateks bla bla bla that is a work of art
  19. yeah, we blew through those issues here it seems like almost 2 yrs ago - see the cartel threads - buyers beware its a shame, but the artificial increases in pricing are definatly the WORST thing thats happened to our hobby since asshats
  20. it really depends though on when, (if you could afford it) would you wear it for me, i try to dress down as much as possible, so a tourby like this you could wear with jeans and a tshirt as opposed to the breguet - now - if you had the $$ to burn on these in the first place - why not own both fyi, my homer tourby is still the star of my collection
