  1. The dial is stil wrong for a 15002, which was the last Jumbo with closed case back.
  2. Ocean7's Ploprof Hommage is quite far off the real deal... A dial and a caseback is not enough to make it look right.
  3. Dunno, but puretime offers the 1k Sub for $238.
  4. hm, looks like PTs Supreme Deep Sea
  5. If it comes with box, papers and probably invoice it is fair priced at $3500. Not to cheap, not to expensive, just fair.
  6. So now we know it: The flat crystal is the reason for the rep being thinner than the gen. Somehow I have the strange desire to get the Sinn U2 rep right instead of simply buying a gen. Even if it involves similar money. Stupid Chefcook. The rep $240, an ETA 2893-2 $220, The Zigmeister lumework ca $150 (dunno actually) ... hm. Waiting for an updated rep crystal or trying to get a genuine crystal, that is the question a nutter somewhere in the black forrest is losing his sleep over.
  7. take a ruler, place it on top of the crystal... know what I mean? BTW: Maybe we're coming to Hawaii next year. Time for a little GTG!
  8. That may be a flaw, too. The gen crystal is about 1mm domed.
  9. Hope mine will arrive soon Is the crystal slightly domed like on the gen or is it flat?
  10. Hi Richard, is the crystal slightly domed like on the genuine U2? Cheers, Max
  11. Got spam, too. towning3807 is the guy's nickname.
  12. Now that REALLY is a grail watch! Wear it well
  13. thanks very much, but would you be so kind and take out the first pic? Showing serial no.s helps scammers more than it should...
  14. Unfortunately Eurotimez just informed me that they can't get the watch at the moment. Will have to search for another source, prefferably within the EU.
  15. Those quartz tags are about five times more expensive then they are actually worth IMO...
  16. I don't think so. The ETA 2836 is about the same size than the 2893 in the gen and compared to the dial and case relatively small.
  17. It may be possible that the copper sulphate capsule mod I suggested really works: Just tried it on an old glossy rep submariner dial. IMO the glossy dials are more difficult to work on... See how it looks (sorry for the bad pics, made them with my cell phone through a loupe...): Nothing chipped or scratched. A fifteen minute mod, actually.
  18. Can't wait. Will be a great watch IMO
  19. Just ordered one from Eurotimez. Will make a little review asap!
  20. Have a look at Takashi's gen U2S: The gen hangs off the bottom, too.
  21. When comparing both pictures the crown position seems to be good. Rep: Gen: Other than expected the dimensions PC states are smaller than the measurements on Sinn's website (43.5x14 @ PC versus 44x15.5 @ Sinn). Maybe the diameter difference is just a thing of measuring bezel or case... But the rep's case back seems to be thinner than the gen's - Which will not keep me off buying the rep, actually. The other flaws (white tipped red seconds hand instead of red seconds hand with white band and the CS capsule) are fixable imo. EDIT: Just saw that it is not visible from the pictures I included. Have a look at www.sinn.de, there is a good profile shot of at least the U2 SDR and U2 S. On those pics it seems that the crown position is very good on the rep.
  22. IMO the copper sulphate capsule at six could be a fixable flaw. Drill a small hole through the dial and glue it in recessed... I am very close to ordering one of these. The gen is a wonderful watch, but somehow I could not justify spending about
  23. I am still not sure which one I should build next. The 5513 is very tempting, but considering the fact, that I preordered the WM9 Sea-Dweller earlier this year it would be nice to have a vintage Sea-Dweller, too. With a Eurotimez V5 I then could have all three
  24. Datejust 16234 probably the whole week.
