  1. The Lemania needed for a Speedy is the 1873. I'd go with a gen case. Ofrei sells them for about $570. Add a genuine hand set (about $85) and a genuine dial (about $150) and you have a perfectly gen looking watch for $800 plus the movement. Canibalising a rep is $300 cheaper but you have to live with the flaws of the case...
  2. 1: What do you sell? An Explorer 2 or a GMT Master 2? There are no three BKLM transformer bezels for Explorers. The Ex only comes with one bezel 2: The Noob case is not rare. You can purchase both noob GMT Master 2 and Explorer from nearly every of our trusted dealers. 3: Make pictures, post it in the sales section after you became a supporter of this community.
  3. Take the Deepsea, because it exists outside the rep world, too...
  4. Hmm, why not some cool vintage Seiko Divers? Or a Seiko Prospex 200 or Marinemaster. Both are pretty cool. Or you waight what future brings. Maybe some interesting things will happen for Rolex 14060 fans... Dunno if you are one of them but why not?
  5. Yep, a 005 should have the dimples and my watch has them too.
  6. You are right, the screws on my pam are a little too short. They shoul be recessed from the outside of the case but not that much. I am still searching for some longer screws... The case came from Precious Time about a year ago. Shoot a PM to our respected Member V. Maybe he still has some of his crown guards.
  7. Thanks very much for your kind words. Seems that I am on the right way
  8. Hello everybody, this evening I assembled my 005 Logo. It consists of - standard cartel case - DSN 005 F Series case back - DSN 005 dial - DSN hands - V crown guard - T48 crown - Seagull 3600 (asian 6497) - High cannon pinion - BOB calf strap I chose the asian 6497 because of three reasons: At about 30 Euro in it's best grade it is cheap, it is very reliable and it has the correct beat rate. To be sure that the movement really will be reliable a local watchsmith gave it a full service. DSN's caseback fits perfectly on the cartel case The DSN dial and hands are superlumed with C1. The lume shot attached is not photoshopped and the dial was not charged before. Just normal exposure to sun light when taking the pics. I am very happy with the result
  9. The Hillclimb is fine I participated twice in an '69 Opel GT, was lot of fun. I used to go up there fast in my 911 (993), but sold the car to raise funds to buy my apartment last year. Hope to have a toy car again soon, Schauninsland so much fun Unfortunately motorcycles are not allowed there on weekends. There were too much accidents over the last years. If you are in the area again you should try Glottertal to St. Peter and Kandel, very nice road as well.
  10. Hey Mac, no it isn't *g* Are you from around? Hey Lani, I definitely have to visit Hawaii. Your pictures are from a different world
  11. I think you could sell them well, definitely. Just do it
  12. Ask Davidsen. His dials are not that expensive and are well made.
  13. Yesterday my girlfriend and I took the risk of getting wet and went out for a ride to a mountain near our home, the mountain you can see in the pictures from my balcony. We came in bad weather indeed so only a few pictures of the country of fairytales The last stop before 30 miles of twisty roads begin Lot of fun on two and four wheels! The way to your childhood memories. You know, H
  14. 20 years old, so a 16660 with saphire crystal? My suggestion: - Wait for the new WM9 Seadweller - Buy a NDTrading 16660 matte dial or wait for a glossy gen dial on the bay - search for a gen tritium bezel insert - Let some of our modders drill some lugholes - Send the hands to Ziggmeister to have them relumed to match the dial - Get an aftermarket 285 crystal without the laser edged crown (I think clarks had some) - Buy some gen spring bars The 93160A bracelet that will come with the WM9 Seadweller is semi correct for a 16660 as many watches had the original 93160 (without the A! Does not have cutouts for removing the spring bars) replaced with the newer 93160A during the service. The parts and the watch will cost you about USD 1100. To create a used look a bag with screws works nice
  15. that IS the 21j asian movements. Works, but the money for an ETA is a good investment IMO.
  16. The gen 108 AMG is 40mm, too. But this rep has the wrong subdial spacing: The gen 108 uses a Zenith El Primero movement. Dial could be repped with the new modified A7750 used in the Omega PO Chronograph, but the back of this watch will never be spot on. The gen has a see through case back.
  17. Still did not had the time and / or weather for a motorcycle trip. Sitting on the balkony instead yesterday, making the evening international with some beer from Spain.
  18. All we need now would be an accurate modern PAM00341 Egiziano...
  19. I used some stuff called GS HYPO Cement, bought it a year ago. Normally it is used to glue in plastic crystals. After pressing the retaining ring over the crystal and it's gasket I added some glue where crystal and retaining ring meet. I found out that the leak was between the crystal and the gasket as the retaining ring was too short to keep the gasket in place propperly under pressure.
  20. I think it is caused by the thinned retaining ring. I had the same problem, but was able to solve it with some fluid crystal sealant and a gen Rolex 295C2 gasket.
  21. No need for a Sub LV dial IMO, the GMT IIc has a maxidial as well.
  22. A grocery run this morning... Driving out of my village. Yep, Germans are bicyclists. A little wristie Mountains everywhere This is Germany, too. High tech companies, here a manufacturer of sensors. Many of these companies are very specialised in their product range and many of them are simply the best in the world. And often the most expensive too, but quality counts. Companies like these are the reason for the well known quality trademark "Made in Germany". The number of workers in industrial factories is decreasing since the 1970s and the number of highly skilled well trained specialists needed to fullfil the demand of today's producing german industry is growing. We have a enormous lack of engineers and technicians, in particular in the south. Getting a car park is more difficult than in the US *g* Small streets on my way to town center It's market! Leave the grocer behind, buy from the farmers. Costs the same, is better for everyone. Win-win-situation. And heading back to the car park You just bought some vegetables with ye olde chefcook
  23. A little trip to Mount Kandel last Winter. Sunny above 800m, cloudy and rainy in the valleys.. The Vosges, far far away: View to east, where the weather was much better on that day. Probably I'll drive to Donaueschingen / inner Black Forrest this afternoon. Will take some more scenic pics on the drive
  24. A little preview of the city I live next to can be seen here: http://www.freiburg-panorama.com/ The roots of Freiburg go back to the year 1008 a.d. This city is older than we Europeans know that the Americas exist. A photo story of Freiburg and the area around will follow
