Hello,
I have a lot of rare parts in my "parts for future watches" box and I am thinking of what to do next.
Two watches came in mind.
1.) The Submariner 5513, pointed crown guard, gilt dial.
This is on my list for two reasons, both related to the dial: It is glossy and golden . With a little aged dial and hands, a bleached insert and a rivet bracelet this would be a stunner.
PRO:
+older
+probably more style with the pointed crown guards, the riveted bracelet and the gilt dial.
+No date wheel to mess with
CONTRA:
-correct crown twinlock 700 is a lot more difficult to source.
-date watches are more practical.
2.) Sea-Dweller 1665, the great white.
Always wanted to have one.
PRO:
+shows date
+crown, tube and bracelet are easier to source
+ultra professional watch
CONTRA:
-less style
-correct silver datewheel is a little difficult to get.
Which would you prefer on your wrist?
At the moment I like the idea of having a 5513 more, so it gets my vote.
Please help my with my decission
