  1. Cosmo is quite right about CZ vs diamonds. When you judge a watch, you're often judging the person wearing it. If they don't look like they'd spend half a million dollars on a watch, it's going to look fake. That's the downside of bling. If you have a rap record contract it looks good, if you work in McDonalds, not so good. In fact part of the problem with CZ is that it looks unrealistically good to the naked eye - it's perfect, colourless, flawless - only the very best diamonds could match it, you would have to be very wealthy to afford the real deal. And of course, no manufacturer in their right mind would use top diamonds in a watch either. One thing I could be persuaded about with rep watch CZ though is that it is might be cut and set badly - and look poor because of that. (Not to mention some of the haphazard placement mentioned above). A watch dial setting also isn't a solitaire ring setting. Just my two cents....
  2. Here's a question - when they switch off the power - is it still art?
  3. Shortest Thread Ever....stay away from the light, stay away!!!
  4. I'll put my money on "probably not"..... It's an 8 Chinese lucky number thing.
  5. I think those are the post date wheel fix pics [unless you're talking about how it looks on the dealer pics] It's lookin' good anyway!!
  6. Screw that - the real issue is how we get all those bicycles to stop shagging.... Pugwash's point was salient - as soon as you start selection which statistics to show, you're already making some kind of point. But I quite like those population counts and so on - kind of nice to remind yourself what's happening in the world beyond what makes the news headlines; like looking at the world as if in a goldfish bowl.
  7. Oh it's worth it - it'll be a "keeper" for sure!
  8. Oh, and before you ask, getting blown to smithereens isn't nearly as much fun as it sounds!!
  9. What?! You mean the chardonnay isn't chilled and the grapes aren't fresh too?! Sheesh...they don't make hell hole war zones like the good old days. Look at World War I - Paul Nash, Wilfred Owen. Four years painting and writing poetry Well, almost four years for Wilfred, he got blown to smithereens. But there was a lot of poetry in there up until that point. Now...who's feeling cheered up?
  10. @J: Your Arabic is improving, but your helicopters are still disappointing. And your horse seems to be jet propelled. 4/10 I like the happy clock idea - but if you saw a clock of how much happiness and great things there were every single second and you weren't getting any of it, wouldn't that be a bit depressing?
  11. Fantastic review - thanks! This one is verrrrry tempting. How long will I resist.....?!
  12. Wow, you're getting the works done on it!! Be aware that places on those AR runs can fill up in minutes, there's no guarantee of getting on the list - hopefully you'll know before the watch goes off though, of course.
  13. Enjoy - and happy birthday!!
  14. I don't think that works because you need the much tougher AR process to resist scrapes and bumps on the outside of the crystal. (I think anyway)
  15. Sooner or later these services are bound to break out though. If Paypal can manage it, so can they. Still waiting for Amazon Australia though.... EDIT: Yeah, what Bigpops said!
  16. I think you may have to be US based to receive money with it though (like Google Checkout).
  17. Welcome Colin. Take a chance to have a bit of a look around - you'll find your answers and more! And if you do get a watch, don't forget to post some pics!
  18. Funny, I'd just assumed *g* was the international symbol for "the postman just arrived at the door with another package"
  19. This isn't for the US, but you might have something similar possibly. I have a large policy through my pension fund - they can buy the cover 'wholesale' as it were (so it's substantially cheaper), and better still it's my pension paying the fees, not my taxed dollars, if that makes sense. Only problem is....I have noticed the wife taking notes when she watches CSI
  20. Whoa! Great pics!! I think I would have taken the elevator up there....
  21. Great review thank you!!
  22. It was just a few digits short, they do add a lot crap to the end of the URL. http://cgi.ebay.com/IWC-Cousteau-Diver-Chr...emZ280139940646 Yours finished at the 99 I think.
  23. I see what you mean though, it is still there for sale from a seller with zero feedback. EDIT: Let me see if this link works: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280139940646
  24. I heard that reaction to that model was mixed.... From: To:
  25. Ah, a viral marketing campaign for Leo Burnett..... Double-entendre - just wait until they get the rest of the Are You Being Served? box set! Cynical sod I guess......but here's to patatina! (Smokey Bacon are best...!)
