  1. I'll buy whatever Citizen model that is!!!!!! [Flavor Flav's pics]
  2. Welcome Sunbrunt! You're right, that capital 'B' was crassssy!
  3. I think he keeps it full on purpose! If you have a question about a particular watch you might find out that someone else on the forum knows anyway, so it might just be worth asking. To buy watches there are usually detailed instructions (no website as such). Hope this helps!
  4. And if I have seen this once, I have seen it at least eight times.... You did not lose your ex-wife, she was loose.
  5. It looks absolutely [censored] insane!! And I mean that as a compliment - looks like a lot of fun. You need to upload an mp3 of the engine for us for the full effect!!
  6. ...and for their next trick....taking Mr Bear's honey!
  7. You're right - I think the rose gold only comes with a white face as far as I know. Here's a gen with a black face:
  8. I've long since quit faking heart attacks in shops. So much easier and more convincing to have a real one! I'm saving my oscar winning performance for when I first hear the phrase "Dad, I want a pony."
  9. The PO is the way to go - did you go for orange or black? Or black and orange?
  10. Great story! Happy days....and happy birthday for next week!
  11. With the tissot I definitely know the man to ask about the glass, it might be an easy swap with the quartz movement, don't know too much about them. What I mean is, it might be possible to make it functional without the official repair and parts perhaps.
  12. Ah, dropped watch syndrome...nasty! .
  13. You can relax! It only goes through customs once, presumably it arrived via Melbourne, and will continue to SA. What is the beauty you're waiting on?
  14. Pugwash might be your man - or it could be a 'doable' DIY repair.
  15. Has anyone noticed that Pugwash and Kenberg have been overtaken by our new uber-member "RSS Import Robot"? The shame! The shame! http://www.rwg.cc/members/View-Member-Profile-m6420.html @RSS Import Robot- 10,000 posts, it's time to go VIP!!
  16. You may be right that Rolex lose out! Many a person has arrived ready to pull the trigger on a sub. But many also come to learn about other brands, a deeper understanding and appreciation of watches in general, and get 'hooked on watches' as they go along. I now 'want' watches I would never have even heard of without reps. Hell, I keep finding myself wanting watches I hadn't even heard of last week. Still - I can always buy the rep and get a Prisoner box set and save money on both!
  17. I think that's a pretty good analogy for many of the watches. I came to reps admiring a 25k Lange, the rep I got wasn't in the same game let alone the same league - but it was the closest thing to that watch. And lots of members are into both reps and gens. If anything, over time, I think people that are serious in the hobby aspect tend to gravitate back towards gens - the scene gives people a value in watches they didn't previously have. I certainly value good watches more highly than I used to as a result of reps, and am more inclined to buy a good gen than previously, odd as it may sound.
  18. elk mink mouse gibbon panther Which creature comes next? Is it: squirrel, tortoise, tigress, wildebeest, platypus or aardvark?
  19. Noticed these on King's site - possibly new Lange reps using the mystery big date Asian mvt we saw with Breitling: With a big date, and subdials at 4 and 7 this would be a very exciting step forward for Lange reps - it's nice to see them working on this brand at all. Of course, the movement is an unknown quantity. Between the two models here, a 'perpetual' is perhaps trying to bite off more than they can chew, while the 'flyback' has a moon at six that needn't be there as far as I'm aware. But this is potentially big progress. Anyone else noticed these? (Or are they not news?)
  20. It's a f i_i c k up unfortunately.
