  1. Nice watch Insane . . . this is for you . . . the late, great Senna . . .
  2. Here it is on HK Tan distressed black:
  3. Not sure if they're improved. But, at least Davidsen offers replacements. I ordered a replacement crown/tube from Davidsen for my WM3646, in anticipation of eventually having to replace these parts.
  4. Yes, the Neil 3646 was nice also. What was surprising is the high quality of the crown and tube in the Neil 3646. (As an aside, I refer to it as the Neil 3646, but I suspect this is the same model offered by our other fine dealers also.) The WM has nice threads also, but the length of the threaded portion of the tube that sticks out from the case is shorter. Both are improvements over the 183 cases, at least the ones I've seen with the stripped crown/tube issue.
  5. Just bought two pairs from Davidsen. $10/pair. $$$$, but worth it to have a source. I also bought a giant assorted bulk of watch screws on eBay - hopefully there's some of the screws I'm looking for in there. Also, once I have some extras in hand, I'll try to source them from fastener suppliers. I'll let you all know how it goes.
  6. Here's a similar one I had received from Neil, vintagized, and sold to John. I prefer the WM 45mm case, because of the clean un-engraved case, clear display back and removable lugs to allow use of standard closed-end straps.
  7. Here's my 'new' beautiful WM 3646 "California Dial" (thanks Rolf!). It came with a very nice Manifatture Firenze pigskin strap. Now I just need a replacement lug screw to replace a worn one (anyone? anyone?).
  8. I had a bad experience with my local watchmaker. Otherwise, a good idea HighC. I found a thread at TRC with approximate dimensions. Can anyone confirm these dimensions? If so, I can try to source them: stainless steel, slotted, round head polished dia of head: 1.5mm dia of shaft: 1.0mm length of screw:3.0mm leaving 2.5mm for shaft, or thereabouts thread pitch: about 6 threads per 1.5mm
  9. Thanks Ubs. Need replacement screws for my WM 3646!!
  10. Hi all. Just wondering if anyone here has managed to locate replacement 45mm radiomir case lug screws? I've got a couple in need of replacing - actually, I wouldn't mind buying several sets because these darn things are easy to strip and to lose. Thanks.
  11. I was fortunate to catch this over at TRC, a WM 3646!!!! Thanks cpt390!! I'm now deliberating whether to install the cal. 616 in this watch. Hmmm.
  12. Wow, that really does work. Strange name, wo-mart.
  13. Well, that makes me very happy - thank you for sharing!! I really would like to see pics of the 3646 next to your military watch collection.
  14. JOE!!! Great to have you back man! I was getting a bit worried there, thought maybe you were in the hospital or something.
  15. A big ball of sticky duct tape . . . seriously, it usually works for reps.
  16. I also have Davidsen capped hands coming soon. I'll post pics before/during/after installation. I'm also considering doing my own superlume. I just need to figure out where the dial feet screw thingys are located - I can't seem to find them.
  17. Thanks K. You are good . . . yes, I did replace the SC buckle with the "Panerai" engraved one. I agree with you that the look is nice. I really like the pointed tongue used by SC on their straps. I should add, that the SC buckle did not need to be cut off. Surprisingly, it did have a screw-type buckle.
  18. Here are pics of my 217 on a Strapculture "Antiqua" strap. It kind of reminds me of a Gabo strap, only a bit more reasonably priced.
  19. Anyone know how Joe is doing? I hope all is ok with the big guy.
  20. I did the same thing. It's a simple fix for a watchmaker. It has something to do with screwing up the keyless works (I think). Don't worry - just take it to your local rep-friendly watchmaker.
  21. No, no, I didn't take it as a dig on me - just the rep. We lose a lot of meaning in typing responses. My point is that some date mags are better than others. I'd say, based on the pics, that this rep is middle of the pack in terms of magnification - not as good as say the 222 reps (with the secondary magnifying lens under the dial), but definitely better than the cheaper reps. (Watching Shakira on video is much easier than listening to her singing on the radio)
