  1. Flyback. I believe it was originally from River. It has the Molnija movement, so I'm hoping the Cortebert 616 will be a "drop in" installation. Anyone know if the stem from the Molnija can be used in the Corteber 616? Thanks.
  2. Just received this from cwai02 (thanks!). The strap is an HK Tan distressed black, which btw is a very cool strap. I highly recommend it. I just ordered the newest Davidsen vintage crystal with tall sides and domed top. Davidsen also offers a domed display back crystal - I may order that also. You can CLICK HERE to read more about the Davidsen crystals. I'm about 90% sure that this will be the watch to receive the Cortebert 616 movement. I was surprised to find that my particular MM has a screw down crown - I thought these were push/pull with a gasket. Anyone else here have this watch? Is yours screw down also?
  3. Congrats Andrew!! A Trustyhommagebaby!!
  4. Yeah, he did a great job on the insert. I was going to put a pearl in it, but now that I have it, I like it without. Ubs - do you know if a tropic would fit this sub? I believe it is silix . . .
  5. Just got this wonderful piece in the mail from Edge (thanks!) . . .
  6. Dudro. It is very simple. You will need a sharp tipped tool to press the pin from the bottom side. Press the pin is flush with the top side or sticks up a little from the top side. If the pin sticks up a little from the top side, then press the pin and the CG together against a flat surface, like a counter top (that's what I did). You will need to apply a good amount of pressure, as the pin is press fit. It will help to first remove the CG from the case first. Oh, one more thing. I took two small pieces of folded card board and placed it at opposite ends under the CG so that the pin had room to stick out when I pressed the pin through from the opposite side. Know what I mean? I can try to post a pic if that's not clear.
  7. Just checking out the pam 87 reference pics at 'risti. Nice rep . . . thick crown, lever engraving . . . looks really good.
  8. Marco. Nice work. I hope my local engraver can do the same.
  9. That is seriously one fat crown. I like it. I wish I could see the date magnification.
  10. Well, I am now a happy owner of a 111H with updated CDG movement. The 111H is from Natalie, though I did not order directly from her. It was another member who actually ordered it from her, and I ended up just buying it from him. It's a long story, but anyway here's the details . . . - The ETA movement is decorated very nicely. The CDG engraving is a major improvement over the previous version. Also has the seventeen jewel engraving. Needle is the fat one, characteristic of the 'working' swan neck. - CG is brushed and fits nicely against the case. Lever was floppy, but I fixed that by inserting a small piece of rubber in the hole in the lever - feels like gen now (really). Also, I made the lever pivot pin flush with the top of the CG, and brushed the top of the pin like the rest of the CG - so it all looks very uniform. - Crown is better than the early 111H's, but not quite thick enough. Looking directly at the watch, the crown appears to have a nice thickness. But, at an angle, the chamfered or rounded edges make the crown appear thin. In short, better but not quite thick enough. - Lume sucks big time. - Strap. Surprisingly good - better than early rep straps. The brown strap has a nice thick pad, and the stitching is very nice. Not an Xamas, but you can at least wear it out of the box and not feel like an ass. - Recessed pin is still there, though not as deep as before. You really have to look close to notice. The hour/minute hands are black anyway, so it tends to hide what little shadow there is from the recess. Even at a sharp angle, you can see most of the top of the pin - so it really is an improvement. - Crystal is synthetic sapphire AND is very nicely AR'd. - Case is thicker than the previous 111H case. Polish is very high and looks great. I spotted a couple of roughly finished (though highly polished) edges along a couple of the lugs. I took care of this immediately with some dremel work. - CG screws are bigger, with very robust looking threads. - Also, nothing is misspelled anywhere on the watch. OFFICINE PANERAI engraving on the movement is crisp. Well, that's it for now. I know pics will do better than anything I've described. I'll try to take care ot that tomorrow guys.
  11. I just received a 111H in the mail with the new fancy CDG movement and working swan neck - very nice (more on that later after I buy a new digicam). Anyway, the watch is great, but had the usual floppy lever problem. So, I removed the CG, removed the pivot pin and disassembled the lever from the CG. I cut a 4-5mm length of caseback rubber gasket and inserted it into the lever hole. Then, I reassembled everything, making sure the pin was flush with the CG. I wiped the top of the CG with fine grit sand paper so that the pin and the top surface of the CG had the same brush finish. And, presto, no more recessed pivot pin AND no more floppy lever!!! Total time to fix: 5 minutes. Let the floppy lever jokes begin . . .
  12. Hey Biggie. Where did you find biggie dies to press the biggie 127 crystals?
  13. 212's are just so beautiful. Should the pushers be polished?
  14. Jon. It looks gppd. I thought about doing a similar project. I wasn't sure how the cg would turn out after grinding off the 'reg. t.m.' - I was concerned that it would be visibly too short in thickness. But, it looks fine, based on your pics.
  15. I found THIS MM watch being offered for sale at TZ. I always thought these sort of sales were not allowed. Below are pics from the ad. Not a very good hommage, I think
  16. You might be sending to an old email. His new email address is: jbuttspsu@earthlink.net. He posted this information last week. Give that a try.
  17. The real problem with the Honpo version is the markers are made of copper then chrome plated. If you scratch or scrape them the copper will shine through. It is also not advisable to polish them either!!! Really? Wow, that's great to know. Thanks.
  18. This watch is absolutely stunning. I love it!
  19. Wow Marco. I love it. Good work Mark!
  20. Your particular 112 is very nice. Nice crown. I'm a crown guy.
