  1. Hey folks out there - trying to drum up interest for a single sided AR run for our Panerais with cyclopses. Talked to Chieftang and he said if we could drum up 20 - we could get a run in gear. I myself have need for 2 - anyone else interested? FYI - I have a PAM 063 with a genuine 2893. I know that this was not supposed to have AR on the genuine - but if you have either versions of the cyclopes that the folks on the board created for this - you know that both exhibit a high amount of reflections. I can not remember who posted it - but single sided AR on the inside significantly reduces this effect - making for a much more enjoyable watch. I am sure the same is true of some of our other PAM's.
  2. Thanks Tourby. Really appreciate the advice. I have purchased ALOT from Angus - so I will reach out to him.
  3. Hey experts. I am trying to make a generic watch and was looking for a good 6497 clone movement. Does anyone know which one helenarou sells? Is it one of the more reliable clones? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=018 Thanks!
  4. What is interesting is that Panerai changes the font all over the place as well. Check out the dial versus the back versus the 127 dial. They all seem to be different.
  5. I have a genuine crystal. It looks to be smaller in diameter than the one in the watch. So - no answers there. BK - would love to know if there is anyway to get rid of the etch at 6. Please let us know when you pop the crystal.
  6. The Zigmeister - was it hard to shoehorn the 1570 in there? It looks great!
  7. Sportsrider - your crownguards do look great. Could you give a little advice on how you did that? I assume that you did not take out the tube, so did you fit a file in there with the crown pulled all the way out?
  8. Gio - can you provide a link to what you are talking about?
  9. We still do not know if the gen crystal would work. If so - then you are right - perhaps an aftermarket might fit. right now - it looks way too fake.
  10. I love the idea. I am a little concerned about the lugholes as well. That seems to be a non-starter - given the room for error. It would be nice if someone made aftermarket crystals for this that did not have the crown etch.
  11. This one slopes as well. It is just not as pronounced. But only an expert would notice that. When you look at it in hand - it slopes just fine.
  12. My 2 cents. The watch is really really good. However, we all examine the rollies far beyond that of any other watch. Why - because it is rep standard. So, it you make a few mods to this watch you can basically fix everything but ByTor's front re-haut. I think that means - "super-rep". But, it does not mean that I didn't wish they hadn't cut that corner. I mean - come on - would that have cost even $5 more to set up the CNC machine to make one more cut?
  13. This is great news. Does it look like a genuine crystal might fit?
  14. Well - that is not exactly correct. If you are able to examine the watch closely - you can see the etch. But i would agree - I just got my Super Sea Dweller - and the etch is too noticeable. I would almost rather have a crystal without the etch at all. SO - the big question is - can this accept a genuine crystal? Anyone wager a guess?
  15. Beautiful watch. I have a gen crown and tube coming for my Ulti-PO as well, for the inevitable day that the tube gets stripped. Better to order it now as they typically take awhile to arrive.
  16. I have often wondered about this question. The gen 063 does not have AR. However, i have had boths of the cyclops from the board installed, and all have significant reflections in the cyclops. I can not remember who posted it - but the best solution is to get one sided AR (on the inside) and that signifcantly reduces the reflections. Also, it is not likely to be as noticable as a heavy top AR. Also - from what I understnad, you have to remove the AR on any existing crystal before you put on the new cyclops. Also - these can not get double sided AR anyway - due to the UV cement
  17. It is exact. That is why the genuine parts fit. My 1665 has a correct crystal, 580 endlinks, crown and tube, insert and pearl, springbars into correct sized holes, etc. The MBW vintage rollies are the best you can get. You need to do alot of modding - but you can correct nearly every flaw.
  18. Are my eyes decieving me? Did you fix the bracelet fit in the lugs, or is it just the angle. Also - you have to tell us how you changed that cyclops. Very nicely done.
  19. You know - Pugwash - i had that exact same thought. It is entirely possible that they may maxi-dial the next sea dweller. Problem is, I like the old dial better. Does anyone actually have pictures of Kings 2892 version???? Should we hold out any hope that it is the same case as her 3135 version?
  20. Can anyone tell if Angus's version has a hollow mid-link bracelet or not? The pictures are not 100% clear.
  21. It is the same as Trusty's and Joshua's. Looks like the same as Kings 2836 version. The real question is - what does the 2892 version from King look like?
  22. You know by-tor - I think you are right. King's does look better. I also really like the lugholes on the King version.
  23. i guess this is why I am not an expert. Except for the insert - this looks pretty good to me. Hard to tell the crown position but is does not look bad at all.
  24. Very very impressive BK. Great tutorial and fantastic results. I also love your work on the Noobs. I had an MBW, and while it is nice - it was a little too wokky for me. I hope that the new SD that comes out is worthy of this type of treatment and attention. Thanks for the inspiring pictures.
