  1. The Zigmeister, Not to threadjack this - but since the results are so amazing - is it possible to increase the size of the 5 minute markers on the new PAM 164? The circles? - perhaps when you are doing a re-lume? It seems like that might be a bit much....
  2. Victoria, Please check this out... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=66465
  3. Lankai, Great review - much appreciated. The CG does look like it is going to need a little attention and some hand work. The dial looks pretty good to me. Can you talk a little more about the Bezel? Is it on very tight or loose like the last batch? Also - how are the NSEW markers? In the last version - they were very "sharp" and also felt like they actually might have been made of plastic. Thanks again for the great pictures.
  4. OK. Per a recent post from Lello..... "I just spoke yesterday to my printer about this issue. He answered that he is not willing to make dials from scratch, but he won't have any problem to re print existent dials, even with names and logos." SO - here is the project at hand. 1. Can we get appropriate blanks (and in what form - i.e. black background, or CNC'ed brass, etc?) from any of the dealers. This is particularly interesting if DSN is willing to supply good layered blanks - not sure if he does that. Obviously he is in business as well of course. Alternatively, if we purchase a Rep from DSN or otherwise, could we send that dial to get "re-dialed". 2. What files (in what form) does Lello need to recieve art - such that his printer can make a proper dial. Obviously, these are questions for Lello but other members - please weigh in. We should probably attempt this on a fairly simple dial that all of us would agree we would want - so that there is enough interest to have Lello put effort into it. 111 or an 01 dial for instance. I will PM Lello with new thread. Thoughts?

Quantum of Solace? 0% of North Americans will get that one. including me!
  6. Not to threadjack - but does that mean that we (anyone) has to provide the right art files and dial blanks - and he will print it?
  7. guys - check out this link - wow! Sorry if this has been posted before. ALSO - isn't the 6 just and upside down 9 - it looks that way to me??? http://www.paneristi.com/archives/PreA_Pan..._A_Panerai.html
  8. I have an SSD and for me, everything came out extremely well. The bracelet was well done, no issues, easy to modify. I also got a genuine extension mechanism with the black screw. Very cool. It was with The Zigmeister for a crown and tube, CG, and Insert fix. Outside of that, i can not think of anything else. A genuine SSD crystal does not fit, so I am sending my crystal to BK so that he can use the gen measurements to create the right angles, etc for a replacement crystal (without that ridiculous etch crown). Very soon, the only thing wrong with this will be the thin frontal rehaut. It is bothersome when I think about it, but no one else would be able to tell unless they really knew their stuff.
  9. It amazes me that none of the makers can make such a simple dial. It seems they are not even trying. I mean - look at some of the other replica dials from Breitling or even the Rollies. They should just use a graphic versus using some [censored] incorrect font. Who made the 089 dial. Lets beg them to make a 104 dial.
  10. Folks, this is all new to me as well. I have been talking to Chief - as he has done some extensive research on this. You are supposed to use a lower temperature process on single sided ar when there is a cyclops which is attached via UV glue. The higher temp process of the double will melt the UV glue and it might move around, etc. So - for instance, I have a 063 crystal with the original cyclops project crystal on it. It has the right diameter for the cyclops - but a super duper amount of reflections - to the point that you can not even read through it. I want to eliminate that. k2222 also offers AR service. This is the first time I have found out the he does single sided AR runs - right along with his double runs. k2222 - could you tell us a little about how this works? Also, it would be great to see the AR on a watch that has been put back togethoer again. K2222 is in Poland Chief is in the US I assume that is usually how people choose who they send stuff to. The photos of the double AR runs from both K2222 and Chief are extremely impressive.
  11. Members - there has been alot of talk about the correctness of single AR on the Panerai's. Lets get one of these Single AR runs going. I know there are a bunch of you out there. I will start the list: 1. cskent69 - 2 crystals
  12. The 42.5 Planet Ocean bracelet is so many problems. The largest of which is the gap between the bracelet and ENDLINK which attaches to the case. The hole was placed i the wrong position. I have wondered if the problem could be fixed by new endlinks - but when I as at an AD and looked at the two - it is really the bracelet which is incorrect. This problem which is discussed in this thread is also a problem. The whole bracelet sucks.
  13. Dude, i love these kinds of posts. That is cool as hell. This is an excellent thread. I have not bought a new PAM since my 063 2 years ago. If they actaully get this right, i am in like flint.
  14. boy do we need a vietnam connection
  15. Well, i would never categorize any of these efforts as being in vain. I also agree we all have our pet peeves about the various flaws with reps. Mine has always been logo's and fonts. That is why i like the Omegas and Rollies so much - you can pretty much source a genuine dial if you are willing to try hard enough. Genuine PAM dials are near-non existant. The rest of the PAM watches are great and can be dealt with if you desire (datewheels, crowns, crown guards, buckles, lume, etc). But I find PAM dials to be just too far off. Of course, that's me. To each their own. I will be a huge buyer if they ever fix this issue.
  16. I agree with Rolli. That exclusive maker makes great PAM's - but I have yet to see one that I would say is "ultimate" or without it's own idiosyncracies.
  17. Great close up pics of the 104 on fleabay: 120207352813
  18. Maybe they will correct the L SWISS MADE L on the next run of these watches? That would be excellent. Has anyone talked to Trusty, etc?
  19. Wow - those are significantly better pictures.
  20. Yeah, I was really excited there for a minute when these were posted. But I agree with everyone else. The 104 has the "L Swiss Made L" too close to the 6. The 164 has too small of 5 minute dots. The 233 i doubt is the right color blue. They all have the same new "A" in Panerai - which is closer - but still wrong. What ever font they are using now still has the cross bar too low and all of the letters are now a little to wide. Ahh, well. I await the next round.
