I really like that watch. I hope they make a good rep of it.

Here is a link to the dealer's watch store: Dealer I was thinking of buying the Rado chronograph with the black MOP subdials. He has a lot of Rado's at really good prices. I know there are some good replicas of these but I have never seen all of these models. Is it possible to have these all brand new and genuine priced this low? The one thing that bothers me is the Piaget. I am 99% sure that it is a fake and not even a good one. It is listed just as "men's watch" and $999. The papers say mechanical movement but the description says quartz. The Rado I would buy is only $500 and I wouldn't feel too bad if it was fake as it looks really good, but I wonder if anyone could get it cheaper. The biggest thing is this guy is in china. Very wierd if you ask me. Anyone have a thought?

I have seen more and more low quality HBB versions coming out in the last few months. China Town is stocked with them. Maybe this is a good indication that another factory will soon make a good version of the HBB with a bracelet at a decent price. I wish someone could tell us for sure.

Almost forgot about that shot from Kill Bill. Somehow i think Quentin is a bit more sly than we give him credit for. Is it possible he used such a horrible fake on purpose to add to the surrealistic feel of the film? It fits well if you ask me. Ferris Bueller, now that brings back memories. Damn I'm getting old.

I have seen quite a few movies with replica watches. Leaving Las Vegas where Nicolas Cage pawns his Daytona for $500. That was a fake. I have seen a few with close ups to show the time where they were really bad fakes and even once where the second hand was ticking on a Rolex President. This weekend I saw a show about a murder in vegas. They reenacted the part where one of the killers pawned the victims watch. Close up on the watch revealed a two tone day date on a leather strap. Obvious fake. Nowadays there are a lot of actors who are collectors and many of them wear their own watches on TV.

That is a cheap asian replica. The whole watch shouldn't be more than $100. If the bracelet fits it would be worth buying the whole watch for the bracelet. It would also be interesting to find out if the clasp can be switched as well.

I have one or two "diamond' reps. I wear them along with genuine diamonds. You wil never get the shine from a replica like you will from the real thing. They look good in the perfect light but don't compare to the fire and brilliance of real diamonds. Most of the time they will pass because most people don't know a diamond from cut glass. Just be sure not to be wearing your $20,000 watch while driving your rust bucket 1981 honda.

I think you actually did the right thing. You played the "take away". Women want what they can't have. Don't be an idiot and tell her you are in love with her and all your feelings yatta yatta. Tell her you enjoy her company, have fun and slip her the old sausage. Don't call her for two days after that and she'll be hooked. -

I can't believe it's been 5 years already. Jfreeman420 Joined: January 8, 2003 Member 155 I still stop by once a day. I can't even count how many watches I have had in the last 5 years. Mind blowing. Good to see we're all still going strong.

I have a few watches that claim to be solid gold. I have actually acid tested them as well. This is what I found. The daytonas I got from Paul were advertised as 18K tested for about 12k. I also notice that on all these watches there seems to be layers of gold inside the links. The inside layers are usually a lower karat alloy that will not tarnish. The outer layer which is thin but thick enough to not wear through is the solid gold part. Yes these types of watches are worth the money.

Yes it is the one at the convention center. It wasn't my favorite show. They held it in a secondary hall so not a whole lot of space. Some very nice and rare pieces. I got to hold an old steve mcqueen explorer II that the guy wanted $18,000 for. Man those things shot up in price. Some really nice bling, I came close to dropping $10k on a diamond bracelet (it was a really good deal) but I decided to save my money for my g/f's christmas presents LOL. Plus most of the people were pretty snotty and not too interested in bargaining. They can keep their crap if they don't want to deal. I did notice a lot of Roger Dubuis on display. These are gaining popularity. With the price of gold nowadays it is really hard to buy any jewelry. I wish the $300 ounce would come back. I did buy a nice diamond pinky ring (like I need another) a some diamond earrings for the girl. Not a total waste of a day as we had brunch at News Cafe on Sobe and downed a couple bloody mary's.

The funniest posts ever were the tutorials by Fliplockbuckle. Some may have called him troll but i still say comedy relief. Pure genius as he made a crystal press from a hockey puck and a vise. Too bad the search didn't turn anything up. Maybe too old?

Subject: 2 books to read Students at a local school were assigned to read 2 books, 'Titanic' & 'My Life' by Bill Clinton. @V, I thought about you this weekend. I was at the miami watch and jewelry show. Saw rows and rows of iced out Franck Mullers and plenty of pannies. Picked up a few goodies but nothing too spectacular as the prices weren't anything to write home about. Did you go by any chance?
