  1. LOL the booze is expensive in sweeden?? whaaaat ... try living in Norway... we friggin emigrate to sweeden to smuggle alcohol and bacon back into norway by the billions.. oh and lots of great women in sthlm!
  2. FYI the portuguese has a 7750movement that is modified to have the seconds at 6 (instead of at 9) this modification has been prone to kill the movement pretty quickly. of the above watches id go for the ulysse.
  3. awesome! but the 7750 is a hard one to start on take the online courses ; http://www.timezonewatchschool.com/WatchSchool/ ..get a nice unitas 6497 and start from that... used in alot of reps too i really need to enroll myself:P
  4. sweet sweet watch, i tried purchasing one of joshua a couple of days ago, but he says they have stopped making them :/
  5. the superocean heritage also fits really well on my 6,5inch wrist.. the lugs are curved down nicely from the case so there is no gap between lugs and wrist..
  6. i believe that there is a huge rep market for both vintage models and new blancpain watches.. they come in so many variations, that there should be a sought after vintage project for so many on the boards! really hope the factories jump on this some day..
  7. item #260790527554 found it in black for u, but didnt find blue...
  8. yeah, i wouldnt wear them as they would be likely to be ranked in the same category (by most nonWIS-people) as any BMW , Mercedez or any car/motorcycle brand selling gen watches for 30-100$ ... sad regarding the pam/ferrari though.
  9. fyi im pretty sure this is a black dialed version, and therefore should have the black bezel insert,... its just the reflection of light giving the blue AR-hue. there is a thread about someone building a franken off this with a gen dial. look it up in the breitling section.
  10. just a little bump here guys.. have anyone bought one yet, and care to share pictures/wristies??
  11. question is ; did they leave enough tip for your rolex?
  12. !! someone need to pick up a panda!! wish i had better cashflow!
  13. hmm why would you redirect through repgeek??
  14. sweet combo! browsing waccex.de i find only bob marino for 42usd? surely this cant be it?? color is off too ... am i completely lost here? i want one like/similar quality to yours
  15. I find this bord to be the encyclopedia of watches. Where on the Gen forums, the members have paid rolex or whatever-brand-they-desire for more or less perfection, whereas the members here counter money with research, mods and manufacturing of parts. the knowledge and just generally GREAT people housed in this forum is just one of a kind. I guess i dont participate much in the daily talk in the forum, and maybe that should be adressed, but i dont hold the knowledgebase that some(many) of you guys do. I do however let myself facinate about the comradery and helpfulness amongst the members, and the lenghts that some go to to make the perfect watch. I love reading indepth about the projects and horological adventures many here set out on! im a constant lurker and reader.. I do miss Lani and RobbiG as they shook up the place with lots of postings and made for great discussion/read.
  16. wearing this baby today and tomorow..
  17. Hi guys! Its been a GREAT weekend for me! months of waiting has finally come to an end. I can wear my 3717-franken at last! You probably know Eton's fantastic franken (all gen/sans movement) 3717. Well, mine and his 3717s is about as related as two watches can be. I purchased his already modded rep-parts: -Vac-lumed Hands and Dial -Chief-AR'd crystal and got a genuine IWC 79320-calibre from Concepta. On the beginning of April it was all ready to go off to my local watch-maker to assembly. He is a small shop owner and mainly works on big wall-clocks and changes batteries for older women, but it says "master watchmaker" on his working title, so i guess he knows his stuff. Being a competent watchmaker, doesnt make him a very reliable one in terms of holding up appointments.. when i delivered it in april he told me to come by a week later to pick it up... we have gotten to know each other pretty well over the last months him and I, but he allways sends me out the door with a smile on my face after we have had a good talk about watches in general..so it didnt matter that much. And here it is.. i cant photograph at all, so pictures dont do it justice. But take it from me, its fantastic! I have in on a bob strap for now, but contemplating buying a better strap.. and here she is with my new pam 328L on rubber BIG thanks goes out to Eton and Concepta. And Fxrandy for selling me the initial watch about two years ago (I dropped it and broke a pusher) . - the German date disk is from that one.
  18. firstly, ouch, i sense pain in your writing. But i would not think that dial, hands, stemposition would mach up with any automatic movement... and 6497 is as basic a movement as there is , and "less parts and complications = less things that can go wrong" .. and u say the crown has come off... stems for 6497's are easily available to my knowledge.. The handwound movement is also an excelent entrypoint to learning the craft of working on your own watches, if it pleases. cheers. miagi
