  8. Nice work! What an improvment. Just for the reference here is another wood insert. This one from Magrette in NZ. Prototype again, 001. Col.
  9. Omni is generous to a fault. More than most will ever know. He has the eternal gratitude of the old guard and I'm shure they have let him know it. Col.
  10. I'm not saying it will definiatly work but you could try useing somthing like Humbrol (spl?) Magic Mask. This is a liquid latex like product designed to mask uneven/dificult surfaces for painting on models. Aliquid latex mould compound would prob also work. Redskin or one of the other liquid insulation tape products are another possibility. Try them first on the inside of the caseback before imersing any of the sensitive bits. If you take out the MVT and reseal the case you would have a dual layer of protection. Hopfully one or both will work. Great idea and well worth trying if the tachy problem can be fixed. Col.
  11. As I said, there is a good chance it's only the photo that makes them look wonky. Geting pics of mods like that is as much a learning curve as the mod it's self. Col.
  12. Nice strap but the green AR???? I thought these had a slight blue tint? Col.
  13. Good thought! I'd say that this is proberly the case. Givge 'er a good rub down mate. Col.
  14. D'oh! Ah well, we learn by our mistakes. Don't let it get to you tho. Back on the horse with you. You may like to use a cheaper horse for pratice tho Col.
  15. What a strange atitude for an AD. Find a new 'smith. Good move reporting this one. Col.
  16. Beter late than never mate. 'sides the first few paid up to 600 bucks for the privilige of owning one of the first V2s. Bah! Jandrew didn't even have them first! There was a small dealer in HK who had them weeks before the Jandrew sisters. Just another LWL. Col.
  17. Lovly, another Ubi masterpiece. Wear it well. Col.
  18. Oh it's not just on the web. Hold a door open for somone and you would think you had just handed them a million dollars. What used to be common curtesey is now apperantly execptional behavior. Col.
  19. Of cause never Abby. Abby would enjoy it too much Leave her alone you fiend! She's mine I'll tels ya, MINE!!! Col.
  20. Mate, TBH it is geting so hard to tell now days you allmost have to hold the thing in your hand and have a real close look at the fit and finish. Some of the clones are now cosmeticly perfect so it's down to a few small finish items. Have a look at THIS thread on WUS for an idea of what to look for regards fit and finish. The stampings near the reg and balence wheel are a good tell on some as the stampings (model#, ETA branding etc) are perfect on the gen and can be rough on the clone. Col.
  21. Proberly the wisest thing you have done all week my friend. Col.
  22. I know mate but when you recive something you need for free how can anyone be as rude as not to show thanks for it? It is allmost beond comprehension for me. Maybe I was brought up a little different than some but basic mannors should just come naturaly. They are not even somthing you should have to think about. When you don't show respect to others you disrespect your self at the same time. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but that's not a bad thing IMHO. The whole damn world is losing it's self respect and that sadens me. A wprld withous respect for self or others is neither a happy or safe place to live. And folk wonder why I don't particulary like people. On the up side these fora (RWG2, RWI and RWG1.1) hold some of the nicest, most polite, helpfull and knowledgeable people I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. For that reason dealing with the twerps is well worth it. Col.
  23. Nice to see credit doled out where it's due. A lot of folk are very eager to complain when things go bad but not many can be bothered to speak up about the good things. Kudoes to Freddy too! Man I love that watch. Col.
  24. Now that little tale realy sadens me. FFS, a little gratitude doesn't cost anything. Just cross 'em off your list in future mate as they don't deserve anything. The fact anyone would [censored] about late shipping on an item that has cost them nothing beggers beliffe. Some folk obviously need a reality check and/or a smack across the back of the head. Col.
