  1. The con here is the AD hopeing for a big bill when it finaly breaks down in a big way! Col.
  2. Lani: you are worth every cent bruda! I am glad the Team here know how much you add to this place. I got a heads up on your situtation at it's worst and was kept informd. You were in my (and the whole admin team at 1.1) thoughts every hour of every day mate. So glad to see you made it thru a situtation that was the demise of many a lessor man. Col.
  3. Shure a Patak or Lange is worth every cent of what you pay but a Sub that costs 500 bucks to make is way over priced IMO. I don't know how much a Swiss Watchsmith puts into one either. Most of the job is machine done. They don't hand make cases and such on a sub and who knows how much is hand done on the MVT. Prob not much. Col.
  4. I do mirror some threads from RWG1.1 over to here and RWI. Don't frequent the 'geek so they miss out Sometimes it either ain't apropriate (been done for eg), not worth mirroring or I'm just too damn lazy
  5. I detest bling but I like that! Very well done indeed. If the diamonds are the grade stated it ain't bad value, rep or not. Col.
  6. Yep, Stan (WackoBirdKeeper) is now over here. Stan is da bomb for the cheapies, lightning service, great communicator and all round nice guy. I think that he and Fakey are the only two folk I have never heard a bad word about, ever. Speaking of Fakemaster, if you want a Rolex or Omega rep you can't go past Fakey. He hand builds every one he sells, to your specs and at a price that is just crazy low. He ships from the US so that fits what you want as well. PM him here or at RWI for details. Col.
  7. You guys planing on shareing URLs for this fella? Col.
  8. John that realy is an amazing looking first ever project! I can't belive how well that turned out. For those of you wanting bits for a Pam project you realy can't go past Getat and Jackson. Both are great dealers who actualy listen to what their customers want. Getat even do a six position test on the timer for every watch they send out. Have a looky at the thread in his section at RWG1.1 HERE. John has also talked him into using X10 lume on all new watches (starting soon) so they will have THE best lume of any homage/rep around. Both of them are real good dealers who speak and understand english as well as I do and are good comunicators who answer any and all questions posed to them. For parts and dials you can't go past Jackson's prices. Sterile dials, $10, same price for a Pam CG and screws! I forget what those PVD MVTs are but it's crazy cheap. Getat has some of the best straps you have seen and by far the best on any homage/rep out of the box. The strap is worth the price of his watches, no kid. Col.
  9. I have a couple of damascus blades and a damascus axe head (you don't wanna know what that cost ) truly things of beauty and strength. I have seen the Ti heat treated steel, lovely stuff. Hey Lani, do Kershaw still make the lever lock series? I had a little one I used to carry every day before it went walkies. Replaced it with a CRKT K.I.S.S 5510 untill that also went west. Damn light fingered asshats! Col.
  10. @dems: Oke, I'm not a Josh fan as you know but I'm impressed! @TJ: Gutsy effort man! Why don't you buy at least a decent set of mid range screwdrivers and a pair of twezers? You can even get a whole kit for under 100 bucks off the bay. Col.
  11. Gee KB, Na, it was on the internet so it must be true! I gotta find out where he got 'em and buy some to sell but I'll only do 50 or 100 a year so I won't realy be a dealer so you guys won't mind, will you? Col.
  12. I feel unwanted, I didn't get that PM WOW! A 31 jewel, 18k gold sub for only $198! Yeah, riiiiight! Col.
  13. Very, very nice Steph. You are a lucky fella! That MVT is a work of art. So much effort in the amount of skelling that has been done there. There is not a single Square mm of metal that does not have to be there. Very impresive! Col.
  14. Very nice indeed. Definiatly not an every day wearer worse luck. Looks good on the black strap. Bet I could get it cheaper elsewhere tho. Col.
  15. Bres! Long, long time no see. We got the old place up and running again: http://www.replica-watch-guide.net/forum/index.php? Still a mad house mind you To add to the pics, the only known pic of Johnyboy: Col.
  16. As Toady has said the issue is not wether they need servicing but wether they are worth servicing. The Sea-Gull ST-19 (the Lemania Manual) is hard to come by so it's definiatly worth it IMO. If the 2824-2 is a gen ETA the same applies. If it is a clone it['s 50/50 since they are about the same price as a service. Col.
  17. Um, dude, try clicking on the link. ie: http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/198-watch-collectors/ Col.
  18. Great pick up Pugs. Truly a beautyfull watch and one of the most lovly MVTs made. I have a suspision we may well get sick of seeing it tho Con grats, wear her well. Col.
  19. Oke, we get the message! No one here who does their research is likly to use either of these firms anyway. The dealer list here is all you need to obtain just about every decent rep made. Col.
  20. Money is big enough my friend! Ya, not a huge fan of WU myself but if you stick to the trusted dealers here you won't go wrong no matter what method you use. I would be staying clear of Sinowatches too BTW. Col.
  21. Yep, the whole damn thing is a huge mistake! Well, it IS stainless steel so maybe it's just a wierd attempt to inject some much needed honesty into the biz. Col.
  22. Considering what they do it's actualy a reasonable simple complication. As above there have been a few probs but most seem to last oke. Everybody should have at least one of these in the collection if only to fire up and watch the thing jump. Col.
  23. Damn that's a nice speedy mate! Very nice indeed. Col.
  24. Agree, search is a pain and since all my bookmarked links need to be manualy converted . . . Not T's fault but this IPB "upgrade" is crap IMHO. If I were starting a new board from scratch I would seriously be looking at other options. They (IPB) have just cut their own throat with this. Not much that can be done tho as it had to happen sooner or later. I think we (1.1) will wait as long as possible before doing so. Col.
