  1. @justin, andy, et al... 26.6mm dial in 34mm case...perfect fit... here's a post on my Tudor blue dial Prince Oysterdate... enjoy - R
  2. Thought I'd share a little fun project with Justin as catalyst...thanks, J!... I connected with Justin through my Tudor Chrono build project...When he launched a FS post selling one of his 34mm Tudor reps, I decided to give one a whirl... Justin's FS post: This piece is as he describes: "Here's the last of the Prince Dates I bought as "case doners", it was really a shame to part them out but since I now have a source for cases this little guy was spared the axe! It is built on a 34mm case w/lug holes, has an a21j movement, and uses a 19mm band. Not really moch more to say about it other than these little guys really are comfortable to wear!" I then discussed gen dials with Justin and he pointed me to a seller on the bay...the reps have "Prince Date" on the dial and the gens have "Price Oysterdate"...remarkably, tho, on the rep, the linen look of the rep is damn close to the linen look on the gen...these gen dials are on the bay in white/silver, gold and blue... I liked a blue denim blue linen dial best and bid...woo hoo!...$45usd later (w/shipping from Australia) it's mine... Here's the description of the dial: Rolex TUDOR Mens Prince OYSTERDATE Rotor Self-Winding Dial Circa: 1980's Winding: Automatic Dial: Original Blue Colored Dial with raised Steel Tudor Logo Measurements: 26.6 mm approx in diameter Dial Feet Position.: 12 minutes approx and 42 minutes approx. Case Reference: Unknown Calibre: Unknown Overall Condition of Dial: Good New Old Stock. Light Spotting visible, due to poor storage.. see images 100 % Genuine Rolex TUDOR Well - I don't see any light spotting, I can tell you that... The dial is the correct size for the case...Since I didn't want to turn this project into a nightmare by trying to source gen hands to fit an eta movement, I decided to keep the high-beat a21j movement, removing the dial feet and using double stick tape...Alignment wasn't the easiest, but it worked...The dial date window, date wheel and cyclops actually aligned... This piece keeps great time and has an amazing power reserve... Well - it's not a big "franken" project -- but I learned a bit along the way...Making a nice piece that is actually smart looking and wears comfortably... Thanks for reading and enjoy the pix...and please don't tell my Breitling friends about this... My quick pix (not the best, oh well) R-
  3. @Merlin...how are you spraying the dial and not effecting the printing on the dial?...also, how did you fix the scratch and blend the paint into the other areas?...what are the diffs between the two paints in your pix above?... well done...the piece looks great... R-
  4. @LHOOQ and Member X... yes - got the dial from The Bay - justin recommended the seller - who is from down-under...mounted it fairly easily enough on one of Justin's a21j Tudor reps...aligned fine; dial feet removed and held on with double stick tape...total cost - approx $110usd...can't beat that...movement is high-beat a21j and keeping remarkably accurate time with very strong power reserve... R-
  5. in honor of Justin...my first "franken"...gen dial...a nice blue denim linen...
  6. i need to mount the bracelet on mine...it's been off waiting on my ss CA with gen blue dial to return for up north... R-
  7. good deal, fellas... Mike has logged more miles with Skylands than most - afterall, he frankensteined my pieces...
  8. just got the crystal back from chief...or then again, did I?!... (Droid pix - tough to steady this damn thing)
  9. just got the crystal back from chief... but then again, did I?!...
  10. wrong section to inquire in...post a thread in WTB in the Trade Section...and also keep your eye on the FS threads... R-
  11. i had to read this a few times...spending less cash in the long run after time here reading and discussing is just not computing for me...anyone else?!... @j99 --> welcome!... R-
  12. looks like the crown stem broke off - which isn't a good thing... suggest you pm BikeMike and see if he can assist... R-
  13. heyyyyy - i actually like the balance of the white rehaut ring and the subdials...this piece is very well-balanced...but i'm still not sold on the blobby pearl, star wars bezel and the sunken dw...i could probably live with the bezel, but the others would bother me...definitely blingy, too...would look better in a brushed setup like the orig Blackbird...but still those items i mentioned are still tough to get past... @BT - i do find the roman numeral dial different and cool...but stillllll - for me i'm having a hard time getting past those design elements...congrats on the purchase!...as always, can't wait to see your review...i like importr's rubber on his B01...adds a sporty flair to it and tones down the "modernist" styling... R-
  14. Daniel -- looks great... love the lume shot...wear it well...R
  15. agree with Red on the datewheel...the datewheel and mercedes writing is distracting - at best... agree with Mike - where's the can opener on the left side?!...
  16. you'll never regret the Blackbird -- and i know of one that is modded that might be avail, BT!...not mine, of course...but i do have my Breitling network... geez, man...between my offer of the ti Seawolf and Eton's Bentley - one would think you are popular on this Board... R-
  17. H - sorry to hear the sad news...but as others say, at least you survived it all... glad you checked in - and know you've got a good group of friends here if you ever need to talk about it... all the best - R
  18. bar none, IMO, is polexpete's franken Navi... what's great about the Datora, tho, is that it's larger than the standard Navi...right in between the standard Navi and the World/GMT...and the dial is pure Breitling... and just to stir it up, BCEs are Blackbird wannabees...
  19. @BT -- "not too much of a departure from the Fish"?!?!...only 10mm of thickness of a departure... and much more badass... i'm with dt!...the Bird is one of the best signature Breitling pieces... add a little z-dust and some chief-trickery and you get this: but then again, if you want a departure from the Fish and another piece that's signature Breitling, how about a Datora - crystal optional, of course...
  20. just for you, BT...i might consider this one for you... and yes - i am serious... pls pm me if interested...R
  21. thanks, chief...thread modified to reflect "football"... R-
  22. My son plays college soccer/football and is hounding me for new cleats/boots...i buy his boots - always have...he has narrowed down his search to Nike CTR360 Maestri FG...size 9.5 US...color: Black/White/Retro Firm Ground Soccer Shoes... http://store.nike.com/index.jsp?country=US&cp=USNS_KW_0611081618&lang_locale=en_US&l=shop,home#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-318341/pgid-258477 I am in the US... He's an outside back and feels these are good boots for how he plays - defending and offensive transitions...i usually google the heck out of the net, and find decent pricing...and have, in the past, sourced boots from Europe to US...open for whatever i can find... Eurosport and Nike sell these for $180usd...yes - i can afford this price - but figure someone might have a better source...doesn't hurt to ask... Expert opinions welcome, too... Thanks...R
  23. wow... ug-LY...but have to disagree, BT...Dave would wear it...
