now, now...let's think this out a little...if you don't know what the gen value of a rep is, go find out!... what's cool about reps is that many of us own tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of gen dollars in reps... enjoy the poll... R-

How to get rid of the Patina on a Croc strap?
hackR replied to mas6002mi's topic in General Discussion
do you mean the sheen of the strap or do you want to slightly distress it?...i used a little clorox/bleach to strip off the sheen on some straps...rub it on slowly to desired finish...be careful and test it out first... my 2 cents...R -
IMO, there's only one REAL Blackbird - and it comes brushed!...one of the best Breitling...great looking dial and an amazing bracelet... as far as i know - there's only 1 factory of the a7750 Blackbird - so choice of dealer for same watch... worth posting a WTB for a member sale - but less popular than the BCE, Skylands and SOSFs... good luck...R

in honor of PeteM...and to reflect the number of goals England will score tomorrow... Go USA!!! Have a great weekend, RWG! R-

It's no wonder some long time members drift away...

i hear ya, Z!...experiencing the same from time2time... i honestly don't get it either...treat everyone with respect and common courtesy... i value the forum and the relationships formed...and always remember that i'm grateful for the learnings, advice and friendships...and encourage that of others, as well... this forum is built upon the many years of participation, hours of advice and sharings, expertise, craftmanship and wit of the senior members - bedrock and absolutely critical in keeping this forum relevant and of value to all... R - you're one of the best...hang in there...i'm nowhere near a senior member...but each day i contribute and hope, over time, to balance the put and take of this cool place... -
@Ronin, @Andei3000 --> awesome pix... @Andei3000 --> absolutely love that dial...i wear my 003/113 a lot...are these Slytech dials still out there somewhere?...R

my latest creation...and what i'll be wearing tomorrow... special thanks to Paul, Murph, Servat, Floyd and Pete for the components and assists...all i contributed was the crazy politically incorrect PAM vision for this standard rep parts assembly... R- the story of this piece here:

hey hey... now we're talking... here's how the story ends...my UK pal, Pete (friendship officially suspended during World Cup match on 6/12, of course?!) notifies me that crappy yellowy hands can be sourced thru Floyd (let's go Hawks!)...a pm to F - and the hands arrived today...perfectomente!... decided to be different - now there's a surprise, huh?! - and mounted the DSN logo dial (from Murph, via Servat) into my PAM 176 from Paul... 100% RWG sourced... ok, ok - so it's nowhere near accurate - but IMO, it sure looks pretty damn good... now i have a ti mate for my PAM 000... amazing how close the hands are to the dial...which is the look i prefer...yellowy vintage -- the watch look, and Floyd, too... enjoy...I am!... hey BB... go for the franken SA - there's a really sexy looking gen red arabic dial...something different than the normal colors... ya know - what would also be cool to do is to patiently brush the SA case when you do...that would add a sense of diver to it and less bling... you could also keep your eye out for the elusive titantiun Seawolf and drop a gen dial in it...it's already got an eta movement, too... will be cool to follow where you go... that's great...well done, Wheats!... R-

for whatever reason, the BCE has never moved me...but it's stealthy cousin, the Blackbird, is by far, one of my favorites...and now my Bird is even better - with blue Z-lume and chief's double ar...while not a franken, these custom mods have a nice impact... as for a Breitling franken - i still think people overlook the white or black dial v1 ss Chrono Avenger that Josh still sells...same case and excellent details as the v1 ti Chrono Avenger - but instead is a mix of polished and brushed ss...yes - it's technically fantasy for a CA, but it sure is one of the best detailed watches...i added a gen blue CA arabic dial mounted on a skyland movement with blue skyland hands -- and IMO, it takes this watch to a whole new level...well - that is, until she returns with chief's double AR...while i love the skyland, i find the simplicity of the CA bezel is a better contrast with arabic dials... here's my v1 ss Chrono Avenger gen blue dial franken... enjoy - R

New Black/Blue dial Blackbird?!?!?... I tend to agree with Mike on this watch...additionally, the dial is far too small looking; not to mention the overall size is kinda small for a sporty Breitling... R-

Hey T... question on the notifications...i still get the number of unread notifications near my avatar/profile pix in the header...but now also a counter of the number of unread notifications...clicking on my unread messages doesn't always seem to mark the notifications as read...am i missing something here?...i just also re-enabled pop-ups and wondering if this then stops the notification counter?...just wondering how this works...was thinking that reading pms would mark the notifications as read... Thanks...R

argh...my bad...Ryan's pm went to page 2 and i just plain braincramped about it all...i sent him a pm...thought i had a new UPO bracelet for him, but damn if i can find it...so it obviously went out the door to someone along the way...anyone reading this that has one, let me know and i'll cover the cost to send it to him...my way of making up for the delay in getting back to him... just a little bit fragmented at the moment...and to top it all off, an ubuntu upgrade to my family room netbook needed a little linux tweaking and i just got it back working properly (damn wireless card drivers) last night during the Blackhawk win!...i did have to pm exchange with Hike in Chicago last night...and I'm helping Mike find his way with his PAM collection...and now on to catchup tonight - no hockey or basketball, tonight... oh yeah - and besides my ubuntu "upgrade", the new job and 3 active kids (20, 18, 16), i switched over to a new Droid smartphone from years as a blackberry addict - so i'm still sorting out the differences and the touch-typing...an even playing field now on sniping up those push FS posts!... all is good, though...i know my priorities - and you guys are part of it all... thanks for the comments and the understanding...working on the life balance - getting there!... as always, nice work T!...

Hey Guys... I have this inaccurate logo dial that i'd like to find a pair of hands for...The dial is an older DSN "tritium-look" dial that has very faint lume that i would describe as yellowy-tan (perhaps a hint of green in it) - but definitely not the color of current vintage lume used by Zig and others - and definitely not the rep green uncharged lume color, either...sure, i could send it out for relume - but don't want to bother...since i absolutely DO NOT like the look of mismatched color hands (lume uncharged and charged), i'd like to know if someone has a pair of rep lumed hands that are similar in uncharged color and are faintly lumed...I'm guessing many of you will know what i mean by faintly lumed...this is not the rep lume that charges bright and piddles away in a matter of minutes...the lume on this dial takes quite a few seconds to charge and glows "faint"... The only hands i have ever seen are quick charging, quick fading and not what i would call faint... That said, anyone with an extra set that matches what i'm babbling about, please pm me... Pix of the logo dial below...it's dial#1...color in the pix is definitely NOT right -- its really that yellowy color uncharged that i referenced...check out the color of the dial next to the other rep dials we are all used to seeing...thanks to panera for his old pix - and to Murph - for the dial...this dial may not be accurate, but it's a fun look, IMO!... Thanks......R
