  1. I would really love to see some more pics when you get the chance. Different angles etc. Did you leave the case back un-coated?
  2. Done... quick pic in front of the computer screen/light source.
  3. Even harder to get lucky with the Rolex 618 movement. They are pretty rare compared to the Angelus which was more of a mass production movement by comparison as well as produced over a much longer period. The Rolex 618's have been hovering around 4K if it's all original parts, in good running condition and the more common version found in pocket watches. If you chance upon one of the correct 618 versions that OP used in their WWII era watches, were talking 6K and up.
  4. OP fills the gap with a movement ring. Also, the solid area of their display back is wide enough that it covers that area between movement and inner case.
  5. Luck of the draw with Noob crystals. This is definitely one of the best I've seen so far.
  6. OEM dial and hands, the Zigmeister Incabloc notch mod... everything else Noob. That's all for now. I'm guessing the CG lever tip shape and proximity to case will be addressed or possibly just get replaced. Noob xtal is pretty close to OEM spec regarding distortion (varies quite a bit between early and later gen 217's). Disclosure, not mine at the moment, but get to take it for a test-ride for a couple of days Some quick phone pics after it's arrival this morning... The Zigmeister did an awesome job on the "Incabloc"...
  7. I've seen them in forum classifieds as low as $2500. A lot of watch and engineering for the money. This is gen. Rep of the Porsche version is the only one made I believe.
  8. Another phone pic under my desk lamp... this watch looks great from any angle.
  9. Not sure, but this Eterna design was first shown back in 2005 as a finished prototype, then released in 2007 I believe. Seiko was the first to come up with a similar concept/design.
  10. Got lucky today meeting up briefly with a member. After we finished discussing what he wanted me to work on, I asked if I could try on the diver he was wearing. Long story short, he loaned it to me for a week or 2 to wear. Thank you sir! The after-market Maratac strap is perfect with this watch and comfortable. On-sale here... http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm Specs for the watch grabbed from another site... *MOVEMENT- C.O.S.C. certified automatic self-winding movement, caliber ETERNA 2897 (ETA-base), 21 jewels, 28,800 v.p.h., 42 hours power reserve *Brushed stainless steel case-housing, hinged case with push-button release *Functions may only be adjusted in the open position thus protecting the bi-directional rotating bezel for the Dive time and crown against accidental damage *Black dial with Arabic numerals and highly luminous hands / hour markers for easy visibility in dark waters *Power Reserve indicator at 4 o’clock *Date aperture at ‘7:30’ *Anti-reflective scratch proof sapphire crystal *Black rubber strap with deployant hidden folding clasp and diver’s extension *Water resistance 1000 meters (3330 feet) CASE DIMENSIONS: Diameter - 46mm Thickness - 16mm Excellent review here... http://forums.watchuseek.com/f67/lit...er-341254.html Eterna founded ETA and then sold it to the Swatch Group. Also, the 5 little dots logo under the "12" on the dial represent the 5 ball-bearings used in their auto movement rotor. Here are some quick phone pics to try and show the impressive attention to fit and finish of this great watch. bombproof hinge design, absolutely no "play"... from another site...
  11. Well done... it's all of that attention to the little details that adds up... the difference when you're done is HUGE!
  12. msrp is $230 for a 24/22mm (same msrp as for calf straps). That's what it will cost at a Boutique or AD.
  13. Thanks for the kind words!... but I think you have me confused with someone else... my first initial is R
  14. Perfection! Another one of your builds that has me inspired! And if the PVD looks that good in the pics, I can only imagine what it looks like in the metal.
  15. OEM JV... got lucky and found it for a great price @ viapaneristi.com
  16. 201/A goodness FTW... there is no other logo dial worth owning
  17. Just trying to save the OP'er some $$$ required for extra parts. For OOTB 000/005's from the HF win hands-down as their sausage dials are much better. Getting the dial right is key as it can't be modded, but the CG can. So HF for these models is the best to start with.
  18. Both the inner CG body corners and pin are relatively easy mod fixes as I've described previously in several threads... The same goes for the HF 005's CG. Besides, the HF sausage dials are the best of the 2 factories.
  19. Yeah, had it for awhile then sold it to a member here, not sure if he still has it. One of OP's finest moments. This 390 has moved on (one of HF's finest moments), but I will be getting another!
  20. For most of your day the only time anyone else will see the watch is on your wrist and a display back will not be visible.
