  1. Sorry to resurect this post, I was looking for dubuis infos... I have owned several of the watch named in this post: And the bentley GT and HBB are the two that caught the most attention...my monaco is not an eye catcher!
  2. This site give good exemple on how the cases are made and crown assembled...
  3. BUt would I like to see a tiger replicated!
  4. I plan to buy down the road a full ceramic J12 auto, this watch is really accurate safe the insert "15" has not the correct font "I5" and the second hand tip is no good too... BUT the new 38mm quartz version correct both of those flaws, as I can't see myself wearing a quartz - does anybody know if it is possible to replace the insert (probably) and if the second handfrom the quartz could be fitted on the auto in any way trying to broach it on - I doubt it - ? Many thanks for the help, Cheers, Halley
  5. Swimming, hammam and straight cold shower with my 1665 modded, no problems ever... never tested for waterproofing just tempted it with confidence on how I thightened the caseback and greased it all!
  6. Daily beater: SMP or 1665 Dress watch: Santos 100 chrono or Conquistador on leather Smart casual: 6263 or Overseas I Sporty watch: HBB or Big Date Bentley
  7. good one people surely don't understand why I laugh this loud whenI should be heavily focused on my work...
  8. Spacing looks a bit of, what the gen uses? a big date 2894? But this watch is looking sooo good, might take the plunge once confirmed it wont break by simply looking at the running second...
  9. I have seen a 116520 rep with that thickness and rehaut once...but the mods done to the bezel and case were absolutely tremendous... And I've seen this project about 10 months ago, not 2 years... Here the tickness, dial and hands gives it away as a gen! If the member indeed try to pass his 116520 as a rep, then, I'm sorry but the story tells us two thing: Details, like rehaut or hands, on a magnified picture are the only way to tell for sure, The average joe will never know the difference I think I will buy a new 116520 and work it a bit again, no need to spend more for this model that when a gen is presented nobody is able to tell at first glance, wich is actually the only look you'll have at someone's wrist on most occasions... To the owner of this 116520: thank you for telling is the replica is that close, and that we don't need to worry about the tiny details... I think he should be elected to VIP
  10. Many thanks guys, I use a camera phone unfortunatly... can't really do better...
  11. Crown guards look good, what is the model number on silix?
  12. Reworked a bit the CG and tube placement while I swap the dial new pics, awaiting a nato strap
  13. looking at the rehaut a VJ72 may fit, but needs double check...
  14. I also think the dollar being weak, every dealer selling products in that currency is adjusting it's price... Same thing goes on gen, zeetan increased it's price from 600-1000 usd as I can see, the monaco I paid 1990 usd is now 2590! The sad thing is, like gas, prices will never go down when the dollar reaches the level he was a few months back...
  15. Well a Tudor Tiger would be great, And a blancpain fifty fathoms too steel/rubber Both are easily repable... If a movement was to be replicated: EP, or the piguet with second at 6 and date...
  16. I'd like to see it hapen!!! Do you think I should do or undo a thing or two in my watch to improve it ? Not really sure of how good it looks...
  17. Thanks Guys, Yes the Monaco is a damn nice watch for the price, I'd like to be able to get this year a zenith open, but ain't likely to occur....
  18. This is the mother of all DWs, the one he sent me back in the days, case number and serial are different from the other ones, this one is engraved 6241 Polished case and bracelet, made it a 6265, gen crown and T21 and waterproofed and brushed caseback
  19. I'm glad I just made a research about 'santos' today, good to see a few members here are still fond of the santos... Keep it alive. Many thanks
  20. Very nice Dubois module chrono, I was not aware of this brand.
  21. 6 here 6263 A7750, VC overseas I 2892, Asian J12, PAM009, MBW 1665, swiss 116509... and many others with defects that I cared myself... All the defect were taken care by dealer (exchanged /refunded)
  22. Blancpain 50 fathoms has my vote, with SS/rubber case & bracelet
  23. Very nice, the project I'd like to finalise, a question remains are the hands fitted are for a VJ72 or for a DW VJ23? or a mix of both? Let me know, Thanks
