  1. stop wanting to put glue there. if anything, put silicon grease
  2. Crown / tube: just ones off ebay Movement: Yes, swapped out 4813 for 2813
  3. Theres no metal surrounds around the pearl - my sh1tty pictures i'm afraid. It is the standard one you get from the cartel - actually not bad at all. @ Others Thanks for the comments - I was thinking of shaving CG but its too laborious haha
  4. Had a chance to put together this 5513. Here's what I have on the list that comprises this watch: 1) Cartel 5513 2) Slow-beat DG 2813 3) Clarks crystal 4) Clarks crystal o-ring 5) aftermarket crown and tube Here's what I did to it: 1) bleached the bezel to a grayish color 2) Installed the clark crystal (which fits but have to sand down the retaining ring so the bezel will turn) 3) Installed aftermarket crown and tube as the one from the cartel is too big 4) painted the lume markers to a more cream color Thought it turned out pretty well - welcome comments and how I can make this look better thanks for viewing!
  5. Not necessarily. Look on Josh's site - it clearly states 28800bph and you visually see it too - it sweeps much smoohter than the one running at 21600. So unless you got the slow-beats elsewhere, both trusty and Josh are selling it with high-beat.
  6. Great insight for the OP but just a small correction - the $98 vintage subs are Fast-beat 2813s not the standard slowbeats that you see in most reps.
  7. Still the datejust parts - tbe dial is toasted though - will try to find a replacement and I guess one day reassemble it and let it go maybe. FYI, keeping great time and yes - it is indeed the v1. I was warned that the stem alignment would be way off - seems to be within the range though.
  8. thanks for the replies. movement from old datejust I picked up for a good deal as it was water damaged - cleaned the movement now. Yeah, the hands are just clark hands, trying to find a decent hollow midlink bracelet - aside from the Noobmariner, where else can we go to get one? thanks again.
  9. Got this in the mail - a 5512/5513 that has a broken tube. Whats the best way to get this out? thanks!
  10. Sorry for late pics. But here's what I got in the mail a couple weeks back. Put on a genuine crown (thanks to patinga) and put in a genuine 3135 movement. Anything else i'm missing to make this even better? thanks!
  11. question is where do we find a thinner caseback that also has correct engraving and will fit the Josh/trusty case. I agree though, the rep case is too thick!
  12. This doesnt work when you don't have the dood's address, Ken. chalk it up as a lesson.
  13. Hey guys, Ordered a 5513 but have read that the crown is too big Anyone found a solution to this? heard that the genuine crown wont fit the rep tube. Has anyone found a rep crown that does work? Interested to hear any solutions to this oversized crown issue. thanks!
  14. ?? Ability to set the time has nothing to do with a "rubber band" - which i'm assuming you're referring to the o-ring. You most likely messed up the keyless works. my advice is send to this someone who will put it back together - don't attempt to "fix" it.
  15. uneducated. thats what it all comes down to lol
  16. Easiest and cheapest way is to just replace it with a DG 2813 - which is the slow beat Asian movement. Its sturdy and easy to replace. Otherwise you can buy it off ofrei and the likes or ebay. I just ordered one from Josh and will be doing the transplant when it arrives.
  17. ETA 2824 is a better fit due to the stem alignment. They have retrofit spacer to convert 2824 to fit in a genuine case. Can't remember where I saw it but i'm assuming ebay will have it also.
  18. biggest difference between 2846 and 2836/24 is the sweep. the 2846 is much closer to the genuine 1570 which runs at a slower beat.
  19. Thanks for the insight, Bytor. Was thinking of swapping out SEL but this may seem like a fruitless & risky path. Great info!
  20. Was under the impression the Noob ones have hollow midlinks - which are more accurate? Thanks for the reply, Dizzy.
  21. Hey guys, Quick favor - anyone got one of these fliplock lying around? Just the additional latch that flips over to secure the clasp. Mine came broken so hoping for a quick fix. Let me know price shipped in CONUS Thanks!
  22. Remember reading that the Noobmariner had the best bracelets. Where else can we pick one up that is good? The one that came with the wm9 is broken - the flip lock is bent and fitted incorrectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
