  1. Agree with you all - The picture looks like a genuine sub to me, anyone with a contrast opinion? thanks
  2. Dont think that commands a premium or possess "rare" qualities http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?191049-Flat-S-sub
  3. Yes I had revised the original post aswell to reflect the new offering... sorry for confusion
  4. thanks for replies - I got offered another watch yesterday! Its a 16610 Submariner from 2006, I have been told. Comes with box and papers. Question for you guys - and I know this isn't the best picture but wanted to get your thoughts. I asked him to show the watch at the current time to prove it exists. However, I noticed it has a flat "s" which indicates a D-serial (which sets this to 2005 model)? Any experts can chime in here and let me know if this looks good? Price is just under U$4.8K
  5. Yeah i've moved over to the genuine world last year. Only own 1 replica now - the 16610 submariner. I think once I get a genuine of that - I think i'm done....
  6. I coudnt agree more! its been a while - I have moved on from Omega now getting my hands dirty with the rolexes now which is more dangerous You still busy collecting now?
  7. Wow.... I kind of agree with all of you guys but who is selling a M-serial 2008 submariner for $4K? I have scoured TRF eveything is north of $5K with ones with box and papers selling for $6K... i'm not sure if you guys are half dreaming regarding the "fair" price - seems unrealistic to be honest.... appreciate the replies of course!

  9. Thanks for comments guys. To answer: 1) I have repainted the damaged parts to the best that I can. Picture show the worse of the repaint - is not obvious in real life. 2) gen crown would put me back 60-70 bucks - not sure if worth it 3) 2783/4 dial feet different to 2824 so will need to cut off feet
  10. i'm based in Sydney and can source it for around that price also.
  11. Those are definitely the correct part numbers - I just checked again on ofrei and startime. Did it come in its original seal packs? The back is the packs should have the part number, do they match? I find it difficult to believe they sent you the wrong parts. Have you tried the other side of the tube? Only one end of the tube has the threading.
  12. Agree with ceejay if you are looking to find a cheaper route. If you / he has the funding, should try to get the whole thing genuinely rebuild but understand the high cost no doubt
  13. lol first question is "whats the best submariner" then second question is "why" do some research will you?
  14. if you bought the right ones - i.e., the ones that I quote you. They are screw down crown - the case tube is internally threaded (not like rolex which is externally threaded). You should be able to screwn the crown into the case tube which is just like how the genuine piece works
  15. thanks - though the listing says its not for the plastic crystal version. Did you have to shave to fit? and what version of the 5513 case did you buy from?
  16. Can you link me to where you got the bezel insert from ebay? thanks!
  17. Hi all, Thanks for all that has helped answer questions - in particular, Aeromatic. I thought i'll share with you guys this build - This is now completed. The craving was actually after a blue dial and bezel tudor - but when I found the genuine black dial, I thought i'll just stick to black for now. Maybe in the future, I can find the blue parts and switch over! Firstly, lets start with the cost breakdown for anyone hoping to do the same in the future. There are two approaches to building this: 1) Budget Build: Using TD products 2) Standard Build: Using Yuki products I went with the budget build as using Yuki products sends you towards the $800 mark. Here's the breakdown including shipping prices: Tudor 9411 Budget Build: TD 1680 = $148 Yuki dial and hands = $113 / I managed to get a gen dial for $90 and aftermarket hands for $15 ETA 2783 movement = $35 ETA stem = $14 Caseback engraving = $75 For a total of ~$385 Tudor 9411 Standard Build: Yuki Case = $580 Yuki dial and hands = $113 ETA 2783 movement = $35 ETA stem = $14 Crown = $30-60 Bracelet = $65 For a total of ~$850 Now obviously Yuki will have the correct engraving on the lugs and backcase which the budget build will not have but to me this is less important. Anyway, here's what I started off with. 1) Took the TD case and shaved the crown guards and faded the bezel insert...The dial was then repainted - not perfect but I think its acceptable 2) The clasp has the two ridges on the flip lock buckle, that was sanded down to look more like the 93150. Quite a enjoyable build and think it turned out ok - let me know your comments and what else you think I can do to make it better!
  18. Just go to ofrei website and order the parts They aren't that expensive and the genuine piece is better quality
  19. I recall other members saying it was around 26mm
  20. Omega seamaster screw down crown item number: OME-069ST42147 Omega tube item number: 090ST1231 Will fit the rep case. they are push in tube - your username is ironic lol maybe change to "not-a-horologist"
