  1. Purchased this a while back from Trusty. A very nice replication of the original. I purchased the asian 2813 movement. My best recommendation is to stay away from the asian movement and stick with the ETA. Mine came with choppy seconds sweep and it was running too fast as well. The ETA is worth the $, and a service will ensure it will run well going forward. Here's a short commentary on what i've noticed in terms of weaknesses. 1) The dial lume is too green (i've painted mine white and relumed) 2) The red on the hands are too dark (i've painted mine with a lighter red) 3) The engravings on the backcase is too shallow (but nonetheless, accurate otherwise) 4) No lume on the 12 o'clock marker on the bezle (i've lumed mine) 5) The clasp looks cosmetically accurate to the genuine thing but not sure in terms of functionality. Overall, definitely a super-rep and can easily be modded to make it even more accurate. I'm an Omega / Rolex fan but this caught my attention as its a perfect watch for water-related sports. Runs a little heavier but just emphasizes this "tool" watch.
  2. NICE! looking forward to seeing the final results
  3. So I managed to finally get the SEL to fit better - I think the key is to get 2mm size springbars - otherwise its always going to not fit well. Pretty happy with the watch. Trying to get my hands on a 1675 - search is much tougher!
  4. Sorry - wrong forum please delete!
  5. have you thought about buying a rep omega 300 vintage and trying to build from there? NOS will def run you high
  6. can someone pls enlighten me why there are so many Maxi dials with black inserts? hybrid between LV and LN? wtf?
  7. Many thanks - have just emailed him. Good luck with the search but agree that clipping the genuine dial's feet would be terrible.. hope the y3135 search comes up with something
  8. Appreciate your help so far C - very helpful. Looks like TC doesn't make the LN submariner anymore but only the LV version. Do you think its easy to hunt down a TC case or TC Submariner as a whole? Forgot to mention the crown on my BK is also genuine. The bezel construction should be transplantable right? thanks again.
  9. Thanks for the reply. How much better is the TC case vs. BK? I have genuine hands and genuine 3135 movement in the BK version atm. Can't believe end links still causes so much problems...
  10. Hey guys, I have an older BK Submariner (v2 or v3, I dont remember anymore). It was the version that had the flat "S" in the dial but had solid mid-links despite being a 93250 bracelet. I recently purchased a TC v2 93250 bracelet with hollow mid links but have found the Solid End links just dont line up well - on either side... Had a quick search to see if there was a solution to this but no luck. Any pointers out there? thanks in advance!
  11. genuine movements but look at the price
  12. Ok thanks for clearing this up guys. Though, honestly, it looks like regular lume to me - seems as though anything that glows is now "Superlume" and FYI, the two watches in that picture were held under the same light so no illusions here. Guess this will be up for sale soon! Mods - pls delete when you get a chance.
  13. Hi all, Bought a dial off Dan via the sales forum. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/161949-sold-new-seaneta-swiss-16610-sub-dial/ Was told it was superlume in the advertisement - when I received it, watchmaker confirmed it was just standard lume. I am comparing the lume against a genuine seamaster which is superlume - seems like the difference is obvious? Can you guys help settle this for us? thanks in advance.
  14. Actually just ordered two watches from trusty and he was very good with customer service (had a small issue sorted out as well and quickly). Ordered a UPO and a Sinn watch Just email him and be patient..he has never let me down.
  15. Really starting to dig this model now - more than ever. Contacted Silix and apparently out of stock at the moment Anyone got one they want to sell? or other alternatives that I can pursue? thanks!
  16. Love to get my hands on a set...or a very good set of replica ones. any suggestions would be helpful!
  17. Thanks for all of your responses guys. The guy said he bought it off another seller so no history (i'm certain there are other parts replaced on the watch that he either knows about or not aware of) anyway, there is a bid on it now but I'm still hesitant to fork out $4K on this - seems like its the going price anyway correct me if i'm wrong and this is a steal (doubt it is bearing it was unsold previously and its been relisted)
  18. thanks for response guys seller mentioned that the GMT hand was replaced.. Do you know what is the best way to authenticate this? thanks again
  19. hey guys...long time Wanted to get your opinion on this watch. To the 1675 experts here, does this look authentic to you? Seller offered to let me inspect but Rolex will not actually authenticate it and i'm concerned about aftermarket parts been put within. Any thoughts would be helpful! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rolex-GMT-Master-Ref-1675-/190834976561?pt=AU_Watches&hash=item2c6ea6a731&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1203 thanks in advance.
  20. wise words actually....point taken guys thanks!
  21. Anyone know a good source for fake raybans and other aviator-like sunglasses ? thanks!
