  1. you gotta be kidding.... Not only do Thailand itself have alot of good replicas on sale but there is too much info on this site that has the TAG Heuer Chronos... Go find it yourself, I hope no one on this board has actually spoonfed you....
  2. Unscrew the stem from the crown and place in pin vice and sand/file down carefully until desired length.
  3. Ok, I purchased the genuine springbars for the UPO and now the rubber strap fits perfectly with no room to "fold out". Here's the link: Click here Springbar number: OME-SPRING-BAR-05 $3.73 each. It has solved the problem for me and i believe it will help anyone else that is having the same issues.
  4. damn....regrets regrets.... these are definitely some of the nicest Omegas around - the quality is very good. Now i'm just balancing out whether I should buy it or not. The only thing holding me back is that the genuine 2nd hand will only set us back around 1k....Can someone say Marginal Utility?
  5. that is a F#$%ing nice watch....i'm so close to buying this now....goddamnit...
  6. any idea what the red dot is for on the Zodiac dial? placed in that position too?
  7. Prices will always go up guys...this is simple basic economics. Sure a few years ago, chewing gum may have been less than 50c, now they're almost $1. Prices for everything goes up due to CPI and GDP, its only normal that these "luxury" goods also go up. I think the prices are generally quite acceptable. Plus people are willing to pay for it. Like one has mentioned already, supply and demand. If we stop buying them, demand drops, therefore prices drop and their supply drops. But I think it'll take a lot more than just us board members to make a change in the market.
  8. woah....that is a tad too big for your wrist.....hate to say it...but your preference.
  9. this is a very good and informative write up. However, I do have one suggestion: When you remove the stem from the movement, you should NOT have it in the setting time position. It should be in the winding position. You will find that alot of the keyless works problems are due to this issue. Hope that clears it.
  10. Believe it or not, there has been some transition models between the all original closed factory SMPs and the current ones now on offer. From what i remember, when the limited edition 007 close factory came to be available - there was a crop of black SMP, electric SMP and white/black GMT. Those were the best - serial number on the lug, solid bezel insert, correct HEV position (not on the GMT model) and the bracelet were second to none. Then they disappeared from the market, but lately, which I mean last 2-3 years, I have seen some decent reps crop up that ressemble the closed factory watch - serial number and correct HEV. Unfortunately, everything else has been bad. So i'm assuming these ones that Angela has been able to source has been the later transitional models that show some promise but still not the original stuff.
  11. easy fix - your welcome mate. In the process of changing the DW on my Tag Aquaracer.
  12. sorry, I meant the 45.5 mm UPO Lite version - apparently that is not available anymore. The 42.5 with asian movement is always available.
  13. This version is apparently not available anymore. The construction is the same as the ETA version - just an Asian movement. From other people's account, it has been quite reliable.
  14. Just for the record....I think it was 132 emails, Zig....but anyhow...my fault...my fault....won't happen again....
  15. Congrats guys on the nice purchase - this has been a long time favorite for the Omega fans. We all thought this model was lost forever. But it looks like its back in action =) I was in love with my black SMP but I eventually sold it to someone who offered a good price - I guess if i ever need one I would probably go with a 2nd hand genuine.
  16. I really didn't appreciate this line: "OHHH, how could that happen? me sooo sorry! me send you new watch, okay? but you send me watch first, ok? you pay 20$ for postage to xanchinluaning!" If you want to make a point then do so in a mannered response, not in condescending tone which I found insulting to asian people. Read the line again and ask yourself if I've raised a valid point.
  17. love my omegas, but some of these have already parted from me.
  18. I can hardly understand what you're saying. I would like to chime in here but you really ought to take the time and patience to write up your responses. If english is your second language, my apologies.
  19. jesus guys.....sounds like a rough ride there is two options: Get the longer length pin remover or use the hammer and pin tool. Obviously secure the bracelet first before you decide to use the hammer (btw - not the hammer size for nails but the jewellry hammer) good luck... @ Jon Fort: remember to wear gloves next time
  20. hard to say By-tor, I have a 6.5 inche wrist and the UPO initally feels sorta awkward, but it definitely doesn't look awkward. but I think drawing the line at 45.5 is good for me. Anything bigger i.e Omega Railmaster XXL (which is still in my box) is hard to get around to wearing. But I do agree that the bracelet makes a big difference. I feel that if I could source a nice 24mm strap for the XXL, I may just be able to get away with it...just maybe...
  21. ahhhh the white GMT. Great watch! thanks TripleHD, I almost forgot it, thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I store the other pics. But yes, the Genuine has white lume - so I will need to re-do mine, they're too green and the hands are prodominetly black.
