  1. wow, that strap on the 288k is niiiice! detials or a link by chance?
  2. It's just a cheap clock that I printed the images on photopaper and then glued them to the clock, lol. You can make them yourself, cheap and easy. (and fun too I might say!) Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  3. I wear this on a calf black leather with white stitch, enjoy it similarly to the 288K.
  4. Nope, you're on the money. Just bleach for like 3-4 minutes. Thanks you very much, I was just thinking about selling it too! This encourages me to keep it, you are very kind.
  5. I wish I could help more, but just to give you inspiration in your quest it that I got this 21J from a member for like $100 back in the day. Keeps great time! So they are out there! Just look for a smaller crown, that is the main prob with most of the reps right now of these, they are just too darn big.
  6. my 318L already died within two days of arrival. I do not not trust it to put $$$ into it for repairs, seems like a lot of people are having problems and they are just junk. I am opting for seads nice platinum hi beat plated movement for $135 shipped
  7. No need to apologize, this is exactly what the forum was intended for. It was a direct fit.
  8. thanks guys! Acutally, this is the NDT dial with their lume. I must admit that the texture on the lume is better than my pbdad 1665. Disappointlingy, and $165 later, pb's lume application is smooth and looks like marshmellows on my dial. The biggest thing that attracted me to this dial was the font. Though it's not perfect, it was a large step ahead of the pt and mbw dial. I just fell in love with that little detail as most of us have our biggest pet peeves, and poor dial font had become mine at the time. The second to last photo highlights this small detail. I think i want to look up and find jmb to get a retaining ring made, just for better contruction sake. Does anyone know if the pt bezel will fit JMB's ring?
  9. holy crap what a find! Lucky devil! Now this is when spending $5k on a sub gets you your $$$ worth! more pics please!
  10. wow, this is going to be AWESOME! I have to start budgeting for this!
  11. NEVER, EVER sell this! A keeper, wear it proudly!
  12. ^^^indeed, started out with a pt case/movement, you guys are good!
  13. I like this shot which shows the texture of the lume markers.

    1665

movement is from the MBK, which is the highbeat 2836-2. Runs great, nice and quiet, and keeps good time. the slow beat 2846's from the PT offerings are not so great, my was junk and needed servicing. I have heard others with similar sentiments. I did the crown guards myself with some sand paper and a metal nail file.

    112 and 243

wow, that 112 is looking good! Any movement shots? Nice pics!

some basics with the mbk are listed here in my recent thread, don't know if any of it will help you out.
  17. wow, as far as the clasp, I am never ceased to be amazed about the different levels of WIS's on this forum!
  18. well, since you are going with newer hands and need to age them, The Zigmeister (zigmiester) can do wonders for you. Send him a pm and see if he can help you out. Here is another example of coffee and oven I did on another peice that came with white lume originally.
  19. Great first build! Where did you get the dial?
  20. That wm9 v1 is looking great! Nice combo there, fit and finish on that watch is very convincing of a $5k watch. Which insert are you using on it? On the 5513, how did you fix the clasp lock and remove the indents? It looks great! I have a similar pair of old vs new. been kinda partial to the vintage one though, the newer one gets no wrist time anymore.
  21. cg = crown guards, the points around the crown. They are too thick and the wrong shape. The rehaut (ring of stainless steel surrounding the dial) design is much improved on the TW sub from BKLM23424324. Also, the dial text color is a little too grey and the laser crown on the crystal too prominent. You would enjoy a $100 noobmariner or even better, if you liked this one so much, I think you would appreciate a BKLM21323 TW sub. here's a noobmariner I sold over a year ago.
