good call. Any suggestions?

Since a bunch of the ripoff sites use COD, Can't we just place orders, put in a bogus address, ask for the overnight express shipping, and then no picks these up or pays for them? Then they have to eat the cost of the shipping? It can't be that easy, what am I missing?

lol, Stephane, this made me chuckle. I think I can relate! And to the guys wanting to get healthier, I wish you the best! Remember to encourage eachother, find a fitness buddy or someone to do it with you. You'll be amazed how much it helps having a partner. And they are easy to find! I like the last part of your resolution TJ, I think this is my goal. I find everyday I have so much to learn about being a better person. Thank you RWG and the people here for giving me a hobby which I truly enjoy and brings me excitement. (and gives me a great break from my graduate program!) HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVERYONE!!!

So what's the difference between the rehaut and the retaining ring?
-
Yeah, I'd like to know about color variations on the noob and wm9 bracelets.
-
I would have to STRONGLY DISAGREE with this statement. Have you not looked at the noob bracelet?!?!?! It has the wrong stamping on the bracelet and on the clasp, it is too dark, and has a goofy crown on the clasp. Or did you notice the crystal, the insert sitting too high, the wrong "4" font, wrong pearl, etc etc etc.....
-
That would be a disappointment, since the WM9 bracelet is stamped MA11 on the clasp and does not have the 92350 on the links. MA would designate a 2005 production year. THe noob is stamped AD on the clasp and has the 92350 stamp on the links. Which would be correct for a 2003 production run.
-
wow, not good news. Could you share some pics?
-
I am confused.... When did Rolex release the 92350 with a stamp on the first link? Here is the noob with the 93250 stamped on it. Here is the wm9 with no stamping Here is an 2001 GEN sub with SEL. If this is an original bracelet, it has the stamping. here is a Gen 2003, and though it's blurry, I don't see any stamping. Here is a Gen 2008, I don't see any stamps. So....was it only the early first 92350 SEL bracelets that had the stamping? And if so, which year where swapped over to the 92350's without the stamping?

wow, looks great! Is it me, or does the date mag look a little weak? (not much, just a smidgen!) It's prolly me! Did you have to countersink the case for the gen tube? Looks good! Oh, and if that's a noob bracelet, it looks darn good! My SEL's on the underside of the case like a piece of junk compared to that! (it's on a euromariner)
-
I'd go with BK, hands down without a second guess. Your title says "high quality sub," so noobmariner does not come to my mind. It's not even close to the same league as the wm9. And especially with it in BK's hands, there is no competition in my opinion. good luck!
-
wow, the euromariner seems to be far behind the wm9 nowadays! Sure the euro has the noob dial, but the other improvements on the wm9 seem to more than make up for it. aren't the newer crowns coming from the AD oversized nowadys? Looks great! Thanks for the pics!

Watchmaterial pearl - goldish cast or is it just me?
cht replied to gplracer's topic in The Rolex Area
I agree. I am not even using it because of this. -
wow, looks great! What bracelet set up are you using? The SEL's look nice and smooth, like it's a real SEL! (are they ) Just wondering why you went with a bezel insert with the triangle 4 on it instead of the euro v3 bezel with the flat trapezoid 4? Also, did you do any mods to the date wheel? The numbers sit really close to the lower edge on my euro. BK, do you have pic to illustrate where the brushed part of the SS SHOULD be near the CG's? (Just like a paint shop of Omega's pic with a red outline perhaps )
-
The bezel that came with the euro DOES NOT snap in, it has to be glued.
-
Actaully, heaviness is quite a misnomer I believe. The old wm9's had solid midlinks if I recall correctly, whereas the gen's and noob bracelets have hollow midlinks. Currently, the new wm9's are using the correct hollow midlinks. So, if anything, i would have thought the older WM9's would have felt heavier than the gens. I have handled gen subs and my impressions are that they are not any heavier than a decent rep. Rolex has been using hollow steel midlinks on their oyster bracelets for quite some time.

^^^^well, what I do know is that he took care of most of the probs with my watch, which includes: 1. rotating movement so the dial is not crooked 2. rotating the crystal so it is no longer crooked 3. resetting the stem line 4. reglueing the bezel insert 5. removal of glue around the pearl. He is sending me a new bezel to replace the one that came scratched and with glue around the pearl, and also a noob caseback as a nice gesture. Some things that I did not expect (and are expected) on a +$300 watch are a uncentered datewheel, super noisy movement and a low quality crown tube. good luck!

well, after seeing a pic of other recent Euromariners, I noticed my V3 looks completely different. this reminds me of a noob setup, but since I don't have one to compare, I cannot comment. Not a big deal, just wondering if anyone can ID it. here is a gen triple lock since the 70's. L] here is a recent V2 (thanks for the great pic doc!) and here is mine on my recent V3. comments? thanks guys!

Nice! What did you have The Zigmeister do? Me likes!
-
I apologize if this sounds offensive in advance, but being a noob myself, it just sounds like you need to either use the search function or just check the sponsored collectors section. Please don't perpetuate the stereotype that noobs are too lazy and too stupid to search!
-
wow, is this the tube it came with? My V3's looks way different. Mine euromariner's has a brass color to it and the rubber washer sits almost on the case! Like my uncentered date wheel? what don't you like about the bezel? My v3 is an a series, so the flat four with the trapezoid is perfect. And, the pearl insert is just like my Wm pearl. I have no need for it! What bezel do you recommend?

My noob senses say fake? http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-Rolex-Submariner-...1QQcmdZViewItem Want to confirm before reporting....

Service document is dated 2002! WTF? More than likely, (perhaps, I'm still a noob!) someone just put in this dial and when it got serviced at rolex, (in 2002) they offered to put the correct dial back in it. Owner refused. This seller had multiple pics of different watches for an LV watch. I do not buy this seller...
-
I agree with the senior members....the watch needs to fit it's owner. The watch has no super powers....even if it is a gen. The owner needs to pull it off....and you could do this regardless of your age or what you wear. It all about how confident you feel about yourself...people who are open that they wear reps have nothing to hide, so they are confident. You could have a gen and people could still think it's a rep...WHO CARES! Enjoy your rep, my first wasn't too long ago, and I stare at it all the time on my wrist. It makes ME happy, I don't care what others think, whether if it's gen or real. I plan on buying the gen when I am done with my education and have an income. I enjoy the watch, and hope you will as well! As the members much more wise than I say, "wear it well!"
